This review is less about the restaurant, but more about the Biriyani.Amongst all Dum Pukht Biriyani across ITC over the country, this one stands just behind ITC Maurya. There are many different types of Biriyani across the length if the country, but this one is Awadhi style Biriyani which is known for minimal spice and heavy in fat. It is slow cooked and therefore the rice gets cooked along with the meat. The portion serves 2 people well.
This is one of my favourite restaurant, situated in ITC Sonar, Kolkata.Their biriyani is the best in India, I can say that with challenge. Their kababs and side dishes are also just mind blowing.Very good service, courteous staff, fine atmosphere, and very good place for family dinner. The price is a bit on the higher side, but worth it for the occasion.
We went for dinner mid-July 2018. Ordered Kebab and Biryani. Kebabs was good, Biryani tasted like Steamed rice. Probably the server did not mix the rice with the spices which is usually at the bottom of the dish. The container containing the Biryani we ordered was kept almost 20 feet away on a separate table. Do you expect the guest to ask for the next serving, or walk to get it?Coming to the main point of this review, which is not the food but the mineral water supplied to us. I understand that it is procured from Kingdom of Bhutan. Can somebody from ITC provide me with a satisfactory explanation of getting the supply of mineral water from Bhutan and not from your OWN India?
This is truly a kind of signature restaurant. Awesome food. Superb ambiance. Great hospitality. Whatever I write is less to describe. Everything is just perfect. Loved it... 😊☺️👌👍
Good service, tasty food with good quality
I dont understand why do they call pulao as biryani... Tried asking the manager, he giggled! But the spread is good
Best Biriyani in Kolkata. Its expensive but its worthy.
Great ambience, decadent food and warm hospitality are all that is required for a memorable dining experience, and Dum Pakht checked of all these boxes positively. Dum biriyani and Jhinga tandoori are the must try dishes. The overall experience was definitely worth the amount shelled out.
Great options in North Indian & Mughlai cuisine
Sour lime juice, chicken not well cooked, mutton nihari underserved, shahi tukda dessert very ordinary
Nice Food And Ambience
It was an amazing experience with Vinita taking trouble to serve us and cater to our likes and dislikes. The hospitality extended with superb courteousness is high appreciative. Ashraf bhai, too was his usual self with warmth and sensitive to our requirements. What do I say of the kakori kebab, the mutton rogan josh and the shorba. Perfect and beyond words
