Visited as a family of eleven after finding the place on friends, we hadnt booked. Staff very accommodating, brought out an extra table to add to another to fit us, happy to split our bill three ways.Unlike a previous reviewer we found the staff to be very friendly, not in the slightest bit snooty, very polite, no issues at all.Our food came out in good time, in the right order in regards starters and mains, and was mostly all fantastic.I say mostly only because my wife steak wasnt cooked how she had asked. (of the four steaks ordered by our table, the other three were perfect and delicious). She didnt actually raise this as a problem, because it wasnt a big deal and she didnt want to cause a fuss since they were clearly very busy, but the owner noticed it was uneaten and rectified the issue without having been asked. You cant say better than that for good service! The restaurant is across the road from my home, a great little place in a lovely location and I would say definitely lives up yo its name. We tried to book a table for the last night of our stay, but sadly theyre closed that day, so well probably stop by for lunch at some point between now and then. Couldnt fault the place
As we are having a bookmyshow coupon we went today and i luv Chinese food ..Restaurant decor was ok they try to give a touch of Chinese designs ..Now come to food have given an order of chicken dumpling ,sweet corn soup, mixed noodles & garlic chicken apart from dumpling every food item was delicious but dumpling was not to the mark taste was totally different..
Loved the food. The seating arrangements might be limited but thats the only thing I can say. Its cozy, clean, fresh in terms of ambience. Now coming to food, great in taste, and very very generous in portions. You must try their chimney soup and dumplings. We had ordered pork as well and after a long time ate really succulent pork. Now coming to pricing, its very reasonable. Do visit this joint if you want some really good Chinese food.
Stumbled upon this restaurant as we were searching for good food around Lords More. Its a great place to dine though small and cosy. The standard pretty decent as we have been travelling for weeks and was looking for good and non spicy food...next day I called up again and the food was ready at the exact mentioned time. Thank you How Hua.
Chimney soup is their speciality. Served in a specific kind of pot. The quantity is huge and tastes very good. Meat balls and other seafood dishes are also nice.
The restaurant was nice, value for money. The quantity was excellent and one plate of fried rice is enough for two. Though the room is small with only 4 tables, the atmosphere is nice. However lesser number of vegetarian options are available and the fan has no regulator. However, there is an Air-conditioner.
Horrible food. They charge too much and the plates are of plastic, not something you would expect from a good quality restaurant. The waiter was giving the plates in our hands,as if he did not know how to serve food.
Cozy space with awesome food... Highly recommended for family...
Ohhh, the chimney soup. But go with ample time in hand. Their service is slow, but the chimney soup makes up for the time whiled away.
It was horrible. They charge a lot but they have stopped giving authentic food. They serve chimney soup without coal.. Their noodles will have a thick layer of corn flour. Very very bad
Small and cosy, authentic chinese restaurant. Chimney soup is great, but fried momo was a disappointment
Small charming place. Good Chinese food.Try their potstickers.
Well I hope the service and quality of food has improved. I ate only once and was served stale and spoilt food, here. This was a few months back. I went back and registered my complaint at the restaurant in Lake Gardens.
The food here is exceptionally good. A perfect place for people having a proper taste
A small eating joint, with 4-5 tables in a room. We tried out chimney soup and a certain fish preparation. The fish-dish wasnt that good, the soup served was more than enough for two. Tasted good, but not anything special
The space for dining is very small, up some rather steep stairs. The food is fairly good, the prices and quantities quite reasonable. Home delivery is available.
Dont compare with when they were located in Free School Street. Only the name beckons. Very bad preparations now. I know many in the locality who like me didnt even think of a repeat visit.
This is real chinese food resturant better and loveable for chinese foody
Good restaurant but the food could be more tasty. Other wise good.
Very cheap prices and good food quality m not that great ambience though.
Relatively hole in the wall place but with good food. I seriously recommend the momos
The pork dumpling was awesome. Yet the prawn dumpling and chilli pork was good at all. And the saddest part was they gave us dirty, soiled cutlery. Totally disappointed.
Their Talumein soup is the best ever, honestly! Its like comfort in a bowl.
How Hua restaurant used to be in Free School Street and was famous for chimney soup & other authentic Chinese food. Unfortunately nine years back it was closed.Four months back it is now opened near South City mall.Excellent chimney soup, chop suey & dumpling. Both owners (partners) & stuart from Vizag are very welcoming & always caring.Must visit here (see the location near Lords Junction). Parking in the next right hand side lane. Will visit again soon to try other attractive menu options.
An old favourite has come back closer home.
On a home delivery order through Swiggy, missed sending main course !!
Great authentic taste... But the space is lill cramped.... Gud service
Chilli roast pork is good, very small chinese restaurant, but surprisingly tomato sauce not available.
Food is good, price is little bit high then any other small size place. Though you can enkoy the food
The old world Chimney soup is back , the other stuff is good too but the xhimneybaoup is as good as it was eons ago
The place for some great chimney soup and Chinese food.
Value for money. Best known for its chimney soup.
Very very nice service and food. Highly recommend it!!!!
Good quality authentic Chinese food with good quantity.
They served the chimney soup with spider in it. Bathroom was dirty. They even kept the dirty cleaning cloth in dining room it self. Avoid this place. It is not even a shadow of what it used to be.
Nice Chinese food. Very good ambience
The age old nostalgia, authentic taste of the orient. From Free School Street to the Lords Crossing..A welcome makeover.
Oh .. probably one of the best chinese food stores in Calcutta. Carrying the heritage ...
Cozy small ambience and good food
Nice restaurant...the food is really awesome
Great food. Just a bit of more wait for takeaway.
Cosy ambiance. Tasty food.
The place for good food lovers and enjoying
Great Chinese cuisine. Enjoy chimney soup!!!!
Not like the Old one on Free School Street
It is just about ok ... People who like chaineese can try here.
In its Facebook page I found reviews saying it serves authentic Chinese foods, but sorry to say, footpath quality food and taste in a 100sft AC room.
Tiny but clean. Chimney soup is excellent.
