This restaurant was on my list for a long long time didnt had the chance to visit earlier, but today went there and enjoyed fully and after a long long time I can say price-quantity-quality ratio wise i am very happy and recommending everyone to have a lunch there atleast for once after that i am pretty much sure you didnt need any 2nd invitation to visit again.Ok I ordered1 Dilli 61 chicken butter masala1 chicken biriyani1 burhani2 lacha porota1 tanduri rotiFirst of dilli 6 was so tasty the green chatni they mix with the chicken and butter it was something outstanding. I didnt it has to try to with roti i was eating it by own then they told me to eat with roti.Then chicken butter masala i think in kolkata they serve best chicken butter masala it was like Delhi Chicken butter masala and price wise they are giving 12 pc so it was enough and test was sumptuous with lacha porotaNow Chicken Biriyani, I didnt enjoyed it that much, dont get me wrong here, Biriyani was fantastic but you that juicy feeling, oilyness in your finger that was missing but very polite and gentle taste i believe it will not give you any trouble to digest this is just not like Nizams biriyani thats it.Burhani a refreshing drink i didnt liked it very much, but once again taste buds are varried person to person. No dish was that bad.100% recommend and we will visit again hanglaatherium.Why I dont gave 5 star? Cleanliness was issue for me, there was a smell and i didnt like that at all. Was meaning to visit this place for a long time and finally made it today for lunch. The biryani was awesome, not too rich and just right in terms of flavor and aroma. The mutton pieces were tender as well. However, the show stealer was mutton hanglaabari. 6 medium-sized pieces of mutton cooked in a thick gravy which is mildly spicy, with a tinge of sweetness, went brilliantly with the biryani. If you are visiting, this dish is a must try.Finally, the hospitality was also warm and we felt at ease right from the moment we arrived. Only area of improvement would be the provision of a wash basin outside, so patrons wont have to wait for the washroom to be vacated when they want to wash their hands.

The name itself had attracted a hangla (Gluttonous) person like me to this fantastic eatery located just few hundred metres from my home and this place didnt disappoint me. The food especially the biryani was simply outstanding and I ended up ordering the same again the next day via swiggy. Its a small restaurant however food and hygiene wise its right up there. Location wise its located in a very posh locality (right behind lords more) and its easy to locate. Highly recommended and looking forward to visit again

Heard of lot about their biryani being one of the best biryani in kolkata and being a biryani lover this place was on my bucket list for the last 2-3years. Few days back I visited this place to try them out.Coming to the things Ive tried,Nargisi Kebab : a kind of kebab or kofta with a egg in the middle. It is named after Narcissus flower because when kebabs are cut they look like the flowers petals. The minced meat and the spices accompanied the egg really well. This dish also comes with some parathas. Absolutely delectable. Much recommended.Chicken biryani : Not that rich. Its a light biryani for the people who dont like their biryani rich with masala. Pretty decent.Phirni : Second best firni Ive tried. It was buttery and had a beautiful texture in it. Loved it. Do try this one too.To conclude, this place is pretty decent with few of their items are worth the money. The service can be a little better but apart from that this place is worth visiting as their prices are pretty reasonable.Bon appetite.

Located near South city mall... They have other outlets as well in kamalgachi, but this is their main outlet... They follow proper sanitization protocols and is also hygienic... Their speciality is mutton biriyani and mutton hanglabari .. Also as a starter, delhi 6 and mutton bhuna kabab is good option although I prefer delhi 6... Staffs are good and friendly.... Interiors are also good ... They have good seating arrangement...

Based on that, ordered one Chicken Biryani and one Mutton Biryani via Zomato last night. However, the delivery was not upto the mark. The rice was bland in taste and it was very dry. The potatoes in the biryani were perfectly boiled but lacked taste, especially because of the salt. Not sure if the quality degraded in the mean time or it was just a one off situation but was not at all satisfied after paying almost 550 INR for two biryanis. I have tasted far better biryani in recent times at much cheaper prices which were ordered via Zomato. It is absolutely fine that the biryani was light and there was no overdose of masalas because that is how Kolkata biryani is supposed to be however, it was not perfect. Also, I felt that we need a gravy as a side with this biryani because of its dryness. Hope they improve or take the necessary actions soon because Hanglaatherium has always been my go to place earlier for Biryanis.Note : Pictures below do not have the full quantity. I kept aside a bit. Also, they do not give boiled egg with their biryani.

If you are a fan of authentic Kolkata biryani this is the place. This is like Siraz from 10 yrs ago. While Arsalan and others are also good this resturant stick to the most authentic Kolkata biryani taste. The mutton pieces in the biryani was the Best. We had the chicken pasinda but unfortunately that was a ok choice. It does not go well with biryani it was still good in taste tough. Most importantly the service was such quick. Must visit. Which is located very near from south city mall.▪︎Ambience of this place is very nice with beautiful decorations and chair tables.▪︎ This outlet is spacious and they have seating arrangement of more or less 30 people at once.▪︎ I had tried Dilli-6 as a starter and one Big Chicken Biriyani, one normal Mutton Biriyani as a main course. I had also tried masala cold drinks for digestion.▪︎ Dilli-6 was just amazing in taste. Its actually Chicken tandoory tossed in green butter. It had 4 pieces chicken in one plate. Chicken pieces were so soft and infused with spices. They served one Nan with this as a complementary.▪︎Biriyani was just Wowsome in taste. I had tried One Bigg Chicken Biriyani which had 3 large piece Chicken, 2 large piece potato and 2 egg. Chicken was tender and flavourful. Quantity of rice was so sufficient for 2-3 person atleast. Also ordered one mutton Biriyani which was also mind blowing. It had one large size mutton with one potato and one egg. Mutton was so soft. Overall Biriyani was just wonderful in taste.▪︎The taste and quality of each food item during pujo is just awesome. Tried Mutton Hanglabari, Mutton Biryani and firni. Mutton Hanglabari and Mutton Biryani were their specialty and both are excellent in taste and yet it dont have the Strong Rosewater or Attar flavors in it.The Firni is the best i ever had in any mughlai resturant. If comparing the price with quality and portion they serve then it is one of the best pocket friendly. All of these are must try food for any muglai food lover.

I have been there twice. Try their Mutton/Chicken Biryani, kebabs, chicken pasinda, mutton hanglabari among others. The quality of the food is perfect, especially the biryani which is non-oily. The ambience and staff behaviour was upto the mark. Loved everything about this place.

I came to Kolkata after 2.5 years and somehow my instinct pushed me to try the first Kolkata biryani after so many years in Hanglaa. It was also due to the fact that I had some shopping to do in south city. We ordered tandoori chicken ( half plate - 2 pieces ) abd 2 normal mutton biryani ( one potato , one piece mutton and substantial rice ). The tandoori chicken was horrible. The 2 pieces were small. The kabaab was marinated but tue meat was not juicy. So it was very forgettable. But the biryani was not. The mutton Biryani was spot on. I thing the best part of Hanglas biryani is that the rice , potato and mutton piece all of them are moderately good. Which is rare to find in most of the places. The Biryani is halka ( much to my preference ) but flavorful. The mutton and potato pieces were humble. Overall I will highly recommend their Biryani for someone in Anwar Shah region or South Kolkata.

Very very poor standard at present. Initially biriyani from Hanglatherium. Now you simply deliver white rice with mutton. Which is projected as mutton biriyani.. The masala of the biriyani has simply vanished and I feel Im having plain white rice with a piece of mutton.. Disgusting and waste of money.. And this has been happening in the past 3 or 4 times I ordered and the last time I visited.. Waste of money

What could I say about this place. My experience was really good. They did maintain proper safety sanitization measures and there were not too many people as well. They did guide us through the menu and we took our time to order the food. However they were out of few items the time we visited the place, which was around 6.30pm. They did not take too long to serve the food, and the quantity was also moderately good. They taste of the food doesnt leave a room for any doubts, it was marvellous. However they dont serve you water outright, we had to ask for it. The ambience is nice, during puja we could hear the dhaks playing outside while enjoying our food. Altogether it is a nice cozy place for meals and gup-shup.

Last Wednesday me and my friends visited this restaurant and ordered Mutton biriyani and and this chicken starter. They served the starter first and it was tasty.When the biriyani came everything was great until I tired the Mutton of the biriyani. It was smelling bad. After one bite I didnt touched the Mutton again.After leaving the restaurant one of my friend told me not only the Mutton was smelling bad but also the potato was bad in taste.Anyways 2 stars for the starter and the service

This was one of our pre-covid visits to a restaurant. Oh, how we miss those days. We went to the well-known Hanglaatherium Lake Gardens near South City. You will easily identify the place from its red theme - the place wears this colour extensively from outside and in. We ordered Chelo Kebab and their Biryani combo. The Chelo Kebab was good in terms of both quality and quantity. Now please dont start comparing it with Peter Cats. Thats on another level altogether. But this one was quite good, if not as good as Peter Cats.The sheekh kebab in the Chelo platter was a little dry, but other elements were pretty fine.The biryani combo as far as quantity is concerned is pretty good for one person. So dont even think of sharing. The meat was succulent and juicy. Just how it should be in a biryani. The chicken kosha was your everyday stuff. Nothing to write home about. Overall, it was a good experience.

Today I visited Hanglaatherium again after almost a year and to be honest the food quality has decreased a lot. There was something off in there special Mutton Hanglaabari. The biryani was fine with tender chicken. On top of everything there card machine was not working neither was UPI. So it was kinda pain in the butt to pay because I was not carrying enough cash.

A good place to eat your lunch or dinner. Good menu items in affordable price. Combos are very attractive here. The food quality is fairly good. Staffs and service is good. They have just one small washroom, so you may have to face the queues, but adjustable. The seating capacity is less so you can have your meal in less noise. Just less than 100mts from prince anwar shah road and 200mts from south city mall. Good decor and environment for having your meal. Overall it was a good experience no doubt.

We visited this place on 21st December 2020 on a friends suggestion and was delighted by the food and general ambience of the place. The decor is very tasteful and service is prompt. The food being delicious is a feather in its hat, so to speak. Mutton Hanglabari is this places specialty, and for good reason. It was a delight to have that dish. This place is pretty affordable, especially for young couples looking for a laid-back ambience.

First things first, they was unable to manage there quality & taste in 2017 puja on Choturthi. There was a bit crowd but they manage our sitting just after 10-15mins.Ambience wise ok, prompt service, budget restaurant.So we ordered #Chicken_Biryani #Mutton_Biryani & their signature dish #Mutton_Hanglaabari.Now, Im coming to taste, it is one of worst biryani I have ever tasted. It was not actually biryani, actually they mixed some rice with stiff mutton & some fragrant. Thats it. Now, comes to hanglaabari, it wasnt succulent at all & garam masala mainly the cinnamon was overdosed.So, after all my lunch was not good at all on that day

Very very tasty food. Serving some unique dish

This was my first visit..Being a biriyani lover I must say all the dishes were mouth-watering.Specially the mutton bhuna kebab...lastly the behaviour of the owner was cherry on the cake..good job guys...

Wonderful food. It never disappoint you by offering various combos and starter. Biryani is also special and oil free. Must try mutton hanglabari.

Terrible biryani, highly priced, unfresh food. Not recommended.Me a spammer? Lol you are a sickofy anf so is your restaurant. When you give horrible food and people start exposing you, you beg google to remove it. I have seen what people are syaing about you on zomato as well.Get a life !

This place can be called a hidden gem. The ambience, the food quality , the staff behavior everything is quite good. Only disadvantage is that the restaurant is located in a small locality and hence hard to find following google map. But dont get disheartened if the place seems not crowded enough. It is among one of the very best places.

A bright and hot Saturday.A roam at South City, followed by a lunch with her at Hanglaatherium.We got,Chicken Reshmi Butter Masala(7/10): They messed it up a bit, making it more sweet than usual. The gravy was tasty, except that it was sweet. 10 decent sized pieces, enough for 2.Naan(8/10): Some decently sized naan, crunchy and soft. 2 will over fill you.Service wasnt up to the mark.
