Its a statue installed on a square in Kolhapur, but maharani tara rani is having her own history which speaks a lot about the second branch of Maratha ruling dynasty. The Bhonsle of kolhapur or Chatrapati of kolhapur, the other most significant and important person is Ch shri shahu ji Maharaj.

There are very few staues of this type of architecture. Horse ridden woman worrier. The staue is resting on only two feet of horse. Normally sculptures use minimum three supports for any statue to balance the weight. This statue is honor to the queen who fought with British empire . She was the last queen in india to resist British rule
