The mutton sukka as well as the mutton masala with pandhra and tambda rassa and bhakhris and chapatis were just excellent and also the very courteous service by the staff as well as the manager/owner of the restaurant . 😀MTP😀

Special for chicken and mutton thalis. Four of us had gone in Opal during our Pune trip so got to try four different thalis.Ordered chicken fry thali, mutton curry, chicken curry and egg masala thali. All had Amazing flavours and a unique taste.They have an amazing staff and the ambience is also classy.

The test is no longer as usual. Completely disappointed. They used to give all the food in the bowl after ordering, now they bring it in the plate but it didnt feel right.

We ordered for mutton dry, mutton fry, biryani rice, and pandhara rassa. All were very tasty and amazing. The dining arrangements are very good and clean and the staff here is also very loving.

Hotel Opal was an absolute delight. We had dinner there. Food was served piping hot and mutton was super tasty. Even the paneer peshawari was out of the world. Must visit and end the day with delicious Basundi

This hotel is just beside the famous Dehati and serves delicious mutton and chicken thaali. Their dishes are not at all spicy but flavourful. Comfortable seating. We could grab a table immediately while Dehati had 30 min waiting. The veg thali and solkadi were tasty as well.

I am one of the regular visitors to this hotel since 1973 ie.almost since its inception.Always its a joy to enjoy good and tasty food both in veg.and nonveg menu.In earlier days we used to launch parties.Weekly once we used to visit this hotel with family and children.Now the children are grownups,and whenever they come home they take us all to hotel opal and we enjoy family dinner.In olden days,green chicken used to be very tasty.Now there are many items in the menu,but all with a great taste.Shankar the waiter is our favourite person who knows well,how to treat the guests.Still today we keep on visiting this lovely hotel to enjoy the great taste of Kolhapuri food.Wish you all the best to hotel opal and its staff.

Whenever I visit Kolhapur,i always stay in Hotel Opal. This place has a old charm and the food is great here. The rooms are very spacious and has everything for a comfortable stay. The staff and management here is very friendly and they will go an extra mile to meet your demands. Its certainly worth to stay here if ur on a business visit or a stopover. Highly recommend.

Excellent. Honestly it tourists paradise. Its location is perfect. It has evolved over the period and they focus on service. Taste may not be at par with authentic MH09 but so to say it serves the purpose. We were a group of 30 people and requested a separate arrangements to save the time. And I was pleased with their service. A separate arrangement, no waiting for orders all this at half the workforce. This is commendable.

I have been staying at this hotel for almost 2 decades now. The rooms are good, comfortable beds, clean and hygenic washrooms. Special covid precautions taken after every checkout. They have their own restaurant which serve tasty food and their chicken/mutton pickle is a must have dish. Most important for me was the parking. Very safe and secure.

Not good hotel at all.. the interior, furniture is very old. When I entered the room it was smelling very bad. Old chaddar, pillows and mattress. No view.. fully blocked and feels like trapped in a room. There were no set top box and buckets, staff bring all this things after checking in. No toothpaste, toothbrush, shower cap is provided. And breakfast starts at 8in the morning which is too late for corporate people. Overall experience was very poor.

One of the oldest hotel in Kolhapur. We liked mutton thali and chicken thali very much. Had a comfortable stay over the weekend. Breakfast was good. Staff is cooperative.

The hotel once was a very famous hotel with excellent facilities but now its not the same. The standard rooms are too small and not at all clean / hygenic with small toilet attached. The rooms are dusty and beware of lizzard. They do clean if you request them though. The prices of the rooms are high compared to other hotels in that area. They do not give complementary water bottle for std rooms. They also have in house restaurant where you can go and have food which they deliver to your room on request. The food quality and taste is ok but it is extremely spicy. Do not order paneer curries as the paneer is not fresh and its very chewy. So not that happy with the stay. The parking space is horrible and only a person with good driving skills can park due to steep slope! The staff is polite and helpful. COVID measures are in place. The hotel entrance and rooms are not at all ♿ friendly. Can do better!

Went with my family to have lunch... They serve Veg & Non Veg both... Food was awesome...Hygiene was maintained.... Authentic kholhapur dishes you will get here... Awesome staff and service provided by them...Must try solkadi, which is a type of drink which is famous in costal region of Maharashtra, made up of coconut milk & kokum... We ordered solkadi but unfortunately it got over in the restaurant... So we ordered lemon drink for us... There is saying Value Your Customer that we could see in this restaurant... They quickly prepared solkadi for us and served fresh solkadi... Was pleased by their gesture.... Nice Ambience... Must try!! Will visit again...!!!

Good hotel, courteous staff and polite. Rooms, bed linens, towels and bathrooms were clean. It has enough parking space and can accommodate upto 15 cars.Dinner service was good. Waiters were polite and even suggested how much and what child could eat when we ordered chicken thali for my 11 year old daughter.For breakfast, it was buffet consisting of Shira, batatwada, misal paav, bread butter jam, juice.Overall satisfied and will stay again, if I am in Kolhapur.

Very tasty and delicious local veg-non veg specialty food at this restaurant. Loved their home made bhakri and poli(chapati). Their pandhara and tambada rassa is a must try. The restaurant is located conveniently next to the mall. The staff is very friendly and the facility is very clean. Love the food in stainless steel plates.

A stark difference can be noted in their hotel rooms and restaurant. While restaurant deserves 5 stars for their food and service but the latter deserves no better than 1star. We had booked super delxue room but still looks were dated, curtains had holes inbetween, small cockroaches roaming around bins and toilet area. Toilets were not exactly clean and overall rooms could have been better maintained. There is nothing for complimentary except for soap as you have to pay for even water bottles kept in room. Maybe its lockdown effect or something but wont recommend this hotel unless u have no other options available 👎Otherwise their restaurant is a must visit for delectable non veg food.

Finally, the long wait comes to an end. Specially for tasting the tambda and pandhara rassa. Authentic non veg dishes, beautiful spacious ambience, ample parking and remarkable service makes this place more special. Tried mutton masala and mutton fry with bhakri and butter roti and the taste was awesome. Veg and fish options are also quite good. The quality, quantity and taste of the food is not at all good for the price they are charging per plate. The ambience is not welcoming. The staff is not trained and many times will ignore the customer.

Spacious. Family friendly. However, most of the staff is not attentive or cooperative. In fact, one manager was very arrogant and rude whom we had avoided afterwards. As regards food, we had veg., which is not so tasty. No comments on non-veg.

The Staff welcome you with a Lively Smile everytime you drop in. Its a very much homely food. Fair on the Pocket. The Thali with Pandhra Rassa ( white Bone soup for Non vegetarian eating people ) and Spicy rich soup made with Coconut milk are just Mouth watering . The Thambda rasa is made up of Curry with Chicken or Mutton.. The Sections are separate and kitchen discipline seems good in this aspect . Food is really great. Flexibility of Menu items is available. Just that do not share the thali as its very odd behaviour over here as Kolhapur guys are fond of Gluttony appetites and when they eat food its fresh and Lavish ..Assal Kolhapuri !!

Tambda and pandhra rassa were exceptional. Hygiene was also evidently maintained. Mutton was well cooked and flavourful. Chicken sukha was also nice. Most importantly, the spice levels were subtle and not like any other Mutton places. The place is very cheap yet quite maintained. Surely a must visit place if you are in kolhapur.

Authentic Kolhapuri Thali available....the tambda-pandhra rassa will make you lick your fingers. The staff is good and cleanliness is properly maintained. As they have spacious seating arrangements social Distancing is very well followed

Its good and reasonable. You get complimentary breakfast buffet which is yumm and filling. It starts at 8am so if you planning to check out before, you might miss the breakfast buffet. The rooms and attached toilet bathrooms are clean and no pests! The super deluxe rooms are very comfortable and nice. You can check out the rooms before booking if vacancy is there. Otherwise it is all time booked.Its very old yet very pretty and comfortable. You can have a journey hault here.

Courteous staff. Tastes good. Authentic kolhapuri cuisine. +1 for the greeting that we received on arrival at the restaurant (lil things matter). Definitely must try.

Over 50 year old, this heritage has exquisitely mouth watering dishes to serve.The Thalis are worth trying that come along with the Kolhapuri Special TAMBDA-PANDHRA RASSA😋.The beverages serviced are costly and not worth the price is what I have to say. The rest is also higher priced priced but the that can be justified for the cleanliness and food quality.The meat is Fresh and Tender making the curries absolutely delicious.If you are in Kolhapur The Hotel OPAL is a worthy option to consider for your meal.Parcel services are also available.
