The best in condition place you can visit in Maharashtra. Totally worth to visit the place who are interested to see the life of royal family. Many stuff animals are with great condition.Few dumb people still write on the wall which is definitely annoying. Cost of 40 rupee is definitely value to your bucks. Please visit the adjacent Cafe which is having delicious food at the right price.
Beautiful palace in Kolhapur. Exterior design is quite unique and different from regular palaces. Museum inside is also unique but lots of restrictions on the way to walk and behave.Large parking outside. The grounds around the palace is also decently maintained. The entrance was not marked well on Maps and we went in lanes and had almost given up visiting.

I had only heard about this new palace. Today I made a point to visit it. There is a museum of all the things that Chatrapatti Shahu Maharaj possessed. To visit the New Palace you have to buy tickets (Adults ₹40/-, Children ₹20/- & Foreigners ₹80/-)You are welcomed by a nice gate, 600 mtr from the gate is the New Palace. On your left hand side you will find ample parking. And on the right you are surprised by a water body (lake) where you will find various birds like swans, ducks etc. enjoying their time. Just besides that and if you are lucky you will be able to see animals like spotted dear, black buck, peacock etc.On the square, at the entrance of the Palace stands the burst statue of Chatrapatti Shahu Maharaj. The New Palace structure takes all your attention once you are inside the gate.NOTE:# No photography and videography is allowed# You phones has to be SWITCHED OFF# The toilet block is super clean
New Palace that is built on the Bhavani Mandap Kasaba Bawada Road. If you are a history buff then this is one of the best tourist places in Kolhapur as it showcases the artefacts and belongings of Maharaja and his family. The lower floor is converted into a museum where all the possessions are kept and the rest of the parts are closed for the visitors. The architectural style of the Palace is quite intriguing and is built in black polished stone.
Amazing palace. If you are a history lover you should definitely visit this palace. Great collection of the Maharajs weapons and other things. When I was in the main hall, could feel the vibes of the Maharajs sabha(meetings) they show in movies. Was a great experience. The surrounding too is beautiful and good place to click photos.
Great historical place 🙏 grand salute
Good place to visit if you are interested in history of Kolhapur and matathas. Palace also boasts a collection of different types of blades, firearms, etc. An enclosure in the premises is sanctuary to animals like Spotted deer, hare, emu, peacock, etc. Worth a visit with ₹40 entry fee per adult. Please note photography inside the palace is strictly prohibited.
Beautiful palace, however the security is bad and trashy! No respect for the tourists. This security was screaming at me and when I came back at him and asked him why he had no mask on, he said theres no rule as such! If this is how tourists will be treated, itll soon be filled with bad reviews and close down.
#Hestoric place- animals, different varity of guns , different types of sword______❤️🔥🤙🏻#(KOLHAPUR)

Such a beautiful place it is! This is probably the best historical place in the whole Kolhapur city. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden which is in very good in condition. It is being taken care of by people who are working over there. It has all historic moments painted over there on the walls and the hall is really big and beautiful to see. Completed in the same year as the Hospital, this complex presents a novel blend of disparate features in contrasting basalt and sandstone. The principal south facade presents a double-storeyed range, with Neo-Mughal lobed arches beneath and temple-like columns and brackets above. This scheme is interrupted by trefoil arches capped with curving cornices and small domes. The same elements cap the octagonal corner towers. The ground floor of the New Palace accommodates the Shahaji Chhatrapati Museum, given over to memorabilia of the Kolhapur rulers. Several tourists from across the country visit the New Palace each year.
