View was good. Room was good. But room service and food to be improved. Room service is delayed. Hot water was there for two days and then no hot water. WiFi was ok. Road to the hotel is steep and needs a good car and driver. Climate is very good and the hotel is at a high altitude and very cool. And the view is fantastic..

Good place to stay with couple. Not suitable for kids. No entertainment... Nature lovers can choose this place for peace..

Stayed for a day on January end. Rooms were clean & good,view from hotel balcony is veryy nice. Food is tasty. TV,hot water facilities are there BUT 1. Location of the hotel is too far & inconvenient. There is slope of almost 45-50 degrees which makes it toooo hard to drive. 2. Everytime u want to go to hotel or go to some place from hotel,ull have to book a cab which will take 300rs. This adds to the expenses a lot.3. Hotel is at hill top level so zero network, no sim card will have range. Hotel provides Wifi credentials but speed is ok ok.On a trip, I would prefer an easily accessible location having sight seeing places nearby. Jem valley is not such place. Otherwise staff & service was very good.

I am unclear who gives out star ratings.. this is a lodge not a 3 star hotel as they claim.. they cant afford a water bottle in room, and you have to manually fill water in glass from coridor, the power in rooms is unstable.. the springs in the beds make marks on ur body.. tvs dont work.. when they work children channel works in cheaper room not flagship. Wiring all over the place. when entering room they dont even bother filling it with basics amenities like glass.. these are just half the problems and they can be adjusted.. then u have the staff behavior.. when my 3 rd old son got injured in room(wow to quality).. i call them for dettol.. let alone first aid kit.. the answer.. its over..if we have one we will send over.. i have heard more empathy in 500 rs lodge... this is day light stealing.. the money spent here is better spent throwing in garbage..

I had been to this hotel in 2017 with family and friends. It was a nice stay, though the food is not that good. Its on a height and the view is good from the hotel. Rooms are decent and spacious.

The resort location is very good, 3 star for the location only. Road to the resort is very bad. You need powerful car to climb the ramps inside the resort. The staff are just ok, they did not even clean the room, even after requesting for it. The breakfast and food options are good. Few things needs replacement like leaky faucets in bathroom, towels, shower, etc. Overall not a very quality hotel.

Way to the hotel is pathetic. I booked a family deluxe room. There was no water or kettle. The water was in corridor. We have fill it in our own water bottle. The furniture inside the room was broken. The bathroom was very ugly. Not like a 3 star hotel. Wifi is damn slow . You will get below 1 mbps. Utter waste. When you call them they will say server problem. When i vacated next day i was about to pay in card. The swipe machine did not work . They said server problem. Food was okay. The hotel is in very steep hill. If you know very well to drive then go else you will struggle. Totally it is not recommended. I paid 4k per night. Better go for other better hotels.

One becoz thats lowest that can be given.. it deserves no star..my entire new year trip got ruined and we returned one day early from what was planned though we paid for all three days..this is all because of the dirty hotel Jem Valley is. bad staffs , receptionist and the worst and extremely rude manager who doesnt even know how to talk to a lady..forget about customer.. it not following any covid protocols n staffs including the manager n receptionist were not even wearing a mask.. no hygiene.. there was no water in the room so we had to ask for another.. they dint change the bedsheet.. on arrival we waited for 1 hour with multiple request asking them to change bedsheets.. 31st dinner they had buffet which was 600 per person n the receptionist said its mandatory.. its like taliban rule... although we did not agree n skipped it.. the restaurant looked dirty n food looked tasteless.. this was my horrible experience n 3 days trip wasted

Overrated for 3 star. The roads to the hotel are very narrow and congested. The way doesnt gives you a feel you are going to a resort. You will not get mobile network (except BSNL i think). The access to the hotel is through very high slopy roads,The bathrooms fittings are damaged and leaky and doesnt match to the standard. Hot water is only between 06:00 to 10:00 morning and evening , if you check in inbetween, you wont have access to hot water. They even charge for Heater - 500 inr.

People working there are very soft and polite. Good customer service. Place must visit in Kodaikanal with bunch of friends. The bathroom of the room No. 111 literally smelt very bad and pungent. We requested the hotel management to change our rooms, but they were not able since the hotel was booked fully during the christmas vacations of 2019. On the last day of our 3 nights trip we had our room changed.The view from the hotel is amazing and very striking. Room service was fair enough considering the long slopes of the property. It is perked on the top of a hill. Buses, I guess, cannot access this property. Breakfast was good.Overall, good to stay at this property at a reasonable cost.

The resort is nice.staff is courteous. The inhouse taxis which they have are well maintained, chauffeurs are well behaved and have knowledge of the entire vicinity. Food is okayish. Location is little far from the main city. Rooms are big and cozy. Balconies have a super view of the scenic mountains.

Location of Jem valley is really awesome, but its not at all maintained. People there have language barrier which makes everything more difficult.Service was really slow, cleanliness has nothing to do with this place.Curtains, cushion covers, bedsheets everything was pretty dirty.. there were holes in bedsheets.Food was ok.Toilets had really bad smell. Not worth the money.But if maintained well this place can become worth everything mentioned above...

Located three - four kilometres away from the Kodaikanal lake in a peaceful area, this hotel/ resort occupies the full area of a very small hill.Rooms are built in the different levels of the hill and a concrete riad is available to reach the top, which is very steep and need experienced drivers.The view of the valley from the rooms are awesome. Mist will be a guest in your room, if you keep the windows open in day time.Nice place to stay.

Very nice location. You will be at peak and wind will blow very nicely. Rooms are very good. Food and service is not that great. Honeymoon suit is very good with balcony and nice view. There will be no network in your phone and you can spend ur holiday without any disturbance. You can upgrade room based on the availability after reaching there.

Jem Valley, the name itself is an identity. something different experience and an out of the world expectation. you can drive your car and bike till hotel room. even to restaurant and reception. full Kodaikanal view available from the hotel balcony. top floors rooms are majestic and like heaven. It is very good experience staying here. Jem Valley hotel reception has travel desk and can arrange tour of kodaikanal as per the package selected. I am rating this hotel as three because i was not provided the kettel to make cofee even after asking multiple times and the access card for power activation in the room has made a great issue. Even that is rectified after multiple follow ups with reception. But everybody is polite and greeted well. It has one hell of a view from the hotel room and experience is awesome

Location at its worst. One should have enough skill to drive a car there which is very steep up for a 200, 300 metres. Once you stop you suffer. Also I would like to mention that water in the restrooms are pain. They do not have enough water supply where they get tank water for our needs which is not sufficient, gets over within minutes. we stayed a day without a water and cancelled the second day stay there. Restaurants delay the order more than 1 1/2 hours. and was horrible. not at all recommended.

I liked the hotel very much. The stay was soothing, the people were all very good, attentive, responding to querry, trying to go extramile to solve your issues. The location of hotel is very good, very nice view of hills, but it is far away from city. You need a vehicle for commutation, hotel provides this service at some cost. If you want peace, quiteness, then its perfect, but if you want to roam around, doesnt want to spend time in hotel, then this hotel wont suit you. Food taste was good but price was at higher side.

The best part is few rooms are clean, Apart from that this place is very far from the centre of the city, roads to the hotel is horrible. Especially the air pin bend inside the hotel to climb to the rooms are very scary. Elderly people need to climb more than 100 stairs to reach their room. Heater is never works! in the cold weather Room service is so bad! Restaurant staffs are not very friendly, it closes very early and no other options for food nearby. TV doesnt work properly! if we complain this to the font desk they will never mind. Not worth for the money! Prices are high even during off season!! Not a recommended place for family.

Very nice hotel. All the rooms have a balcony with great view. The staff were very nice and helpful. We stayed here for 3 days. The property is very nice. It is situated on top of a hill. The drive to the hotel is very thrilling. You can see the farms and forest of Kodaikanal from the balcony. We took the Jem Valley room which was very spacious and neatly arranged. The duty manager Ramesan was very helpful. He got us some fresh strawberries from the small farm in the hotel. The food was very nice. The chef was helpful.

Nice place to stay, far away from town, difficult road to navigate if u go by Ur own vehicle. hotel is built upon a hill in different levels, difficult to climb and roads are so steep, be careful if u are new to the hotel area. food is ok, room service is little late. there is no 24 hour hot water supply which is a major drawback. room service is good. maintenance of property and courtesy to customers is very good. overall good to stay but difficult if u have children or elderly family members.

A dulex resort in kodaikkanal. Having awsome mountain view from the rooms. Best customer services. Best class rooms. Better place for honeymoon for couples. But the transporatation to the resrt this kind a harder part. Narrow and hilly roads and far from the town.

Excellent Staff. They are polite, caring and helpful. Good location of hotel on misty mountain. The climate was very good. However, they do not offer room service if more than 20 persons are staying in hotel. In this case, they offer buffet. We have to walk down steep slopes and then climb back to the room. Though amenities in room were very good, we needed to remind them to get complementary mineral water. We suspect that good hygiene was not maintained in restaurant as all of us got sick on second day of stay.

This hotel is in kodaikanal. The rooms are good - clean amd spacious with a balcony facing a very good view. All this at affordable prices. The hotel services is fair thought they provide temporary arrangements. They have bonfire, Dj night with good mix of music and recreational activities like carrom, table tennis and chess, just what is needed to relax and get away from the daily busy routine of daily life. The service is a little slow, things have to be reminded again and again. But overall the hotel is good. I would say a 3 star hotel

List of issues faced -1) Geyser was not working in the room. It was freezing cold and it wasnt possible to use water without it. We called them repeatedly and asked them to fix it or give us another room, but they didnt do it at all. All the times they kept on saying, wait for 15 min, wait for 20 min, hot water will come. But it never came even after 2 hours of waiting. Later, they just ignored our requests. We had to adjust by taking bath in the other room where geyser was working.2) Very careless and rude staff. Even after clearly explaining the problem, nobody was willing to care about the geyser problem and solve it. Had clear discussion with manager asking to change room, but he just ignored it. Hotel was totally empty except for us since it was off season. Instead of offering to change room, they offered us a bucket of hot water.3) Linens and bedsheets were dirty, there were hairs all over the bed when we checked in and saw it. Again the hotel is in no mood to accept and said that it was ours. Very pathetic and hopeless service. One should come here only if they want to ruin their vacation.4) Power cut multiple times.5) Hotel is at a very remote place and at dangerous height. Should avoid with old people and kids.6) Food is very very costly here and there is no option (since its at a very remote place), but to order from there.

Hotel was good. At the top of the hill. location is very far from the city and they charge for each and every pickup and drop to the city. food is not up-to the mark. it was fine. Service was good. Very good location. You get an exotic view of kodaikanal. Very good rooms with small washrooms. Indoor games and conference halls. But main problem here is to reach the hotel. It is on the top of the hill where there are narrow roads.

Rooms are beautiful from inside and overall you will love the aura around. They also sometimes arrange for bonfire at no extra price. The only thing that sucks here is their kitchen service. Also, once you come here you dont have any other option for food.

Extremely steep access, rude staff, late food, not recommended for children, aged people or persons with any health issues, especially BP and arthritis. Suitable only for adventurous trekkers who dont mind these issues. This place is situated on a remote hill with only extremely steep climbing access. With normal cars you need to rev your engines in 1st gear at top speed and god save your engine by the time you reach the top. Unpaved broken roads lead to it through dirty suburbs smelling of dung and waste. The stairs of the building are also too steep. Once inside the hotel premises you need to climb again three steep roads that are laid zig-zag on the mountain and not around it, the reason for the extreme steepness. Located more than 5 kilometers further into and away from the town center. The reception desk agents are rude and haughty and to top it, the restaurant staff is indifferent.

The restaurant service is superb and they serves very tasty food. Staffs were very much cooperative and friendly. They had one well maintained play area. We would like to stay here in our next visit too!!

This place was worth for money. This would be the right place to go if you want to have your quality vacation time all for yourself without worrying about anything else. One would enjoy the amazing view from the room. Hotel service was very good and quick as well. Rooms were well maintained and bathroom was clean. One interesting thing about bathroom was you will get hot water even in sinks. Overall we had a very good time at Jim valley.

Very good hotel. Beautiful view. Clean surroundings. Good staff. Food is good. Only disadvantage is the steep climb from reception to rooms. Some cabs dont take you upto the rooms. And hotel provides transport only at checkin and checkout days.

It is a 3-star hotel and the Hotel was seemed to have the correct ratings given . It is 3.9kms away from town and to reach there its better to have a SUV because thats the kind of road the government offer us !! And when we reach the hotel we still have an issue due to its steeps very frustrating one . But the service provided by them was the worst I had ever been . There are many to list out like lethargic food captain if we order the food for 3 they give only 2 plates and the next is room service , we had an issue in the intercom , however to reach reception and restaurant we need to climb these steeps !! The Television in our room is not working properly and even every room offers only free channels !! The main one is that we stayed for 2 days so the second day stay needs cleaning so the room service cleaned the room and also theft some snacks from our room ! NOTE : We were not there while they were cleaning !! What an service !! However There is no signal even in Airtel , Vodafone , Jio . So , I conclude that The Ambience was great and room service and the way to hotel irritates !

This was our second trip here all meals inclusive. And it surpassed our high expectations. Hats off to the team there that works hard to keep guests happy. The food (buffets) led by executive chef Saptarishi are the best I have had in Kodaikanal... . Chef offered custom made conti food for my wife at every meal..... Housekeeping is adaptable on timing..I guess our next holiday is also going to be here.Once Again I Hats off to Hotel Jem Valley Leaders Ajaykumar (General Manager) and Vilayath Hussain (Resort manager)

The resort and the views are very good. Courteous staff and a nice restaurant.The only issue is the road that takes you there. It is a narrow and broken one with huge ups and downs. To get there you will have to show some driving skills and will burn some clutch.

Situated at one of the highest hills in kodai, it offers a landscape view of the city. This is also the tallest hotel in kodaikanal. Clean rooms and quite spacious. Couldnt try their restaurant for breakfast due to continuous smell coming into the hall, not sure what that foul smell was about. The hotel staff are helpful who arranged for local sightseeing and also transport to the room which is placed higher and not easy to reach

Stayed for 2 nights during end June 2019.Overall: A Good Place to stay in Kodaikanal considering value proposition.Starting with positives, Best choice in Kodaikanal for a remote stay.Prefer Jem-valley Room or deluxe room. Standard rooms cannot be a best choice for Couples. Rooms are maintained clean & furnished with a king size bed, diwan sofa, cupboard, one or two tables & a kettle.Most remarkably the balcony & its view is wonderful.Food taste was good but can be improved further with more varieties.No mobile networks available, thats a best part of it to spend quality time with family / friends talk.It feels like climbing a cliff when you walk inside the resort. Requires attention / improvement over (not Negatives & can be managed),Rooms & Facilities:Timings restriction of 6am to 10am & 6pm to 10pm for hot water availability.use & throw slippers are must for this climate & it was not available as they have assured as complementary in displays in room.Camp/bon-fire charges of ₹2,500/- is too much, which shouldnt be worth more than ₹400/-.Restaurant:Only North India dishes available for dinner, must focus over South Indian too matching to the local dishes.Time taken for order to delivery is very long. Requires a prior plan. Al-carta food are priced expensive, and we will not have a choice to opt out side as the location is remote.Location & Maneuverability:should have enough skill to drive a car for a stretch of 100-200m.Even then you may damage your car bumpers as a small stretch of the approach road is damaged & higher gradient.we spent another ₹600 up-down to city & ₹3000 for Manavanoor Lake to hire a local taxi parking our own car till the damage is filled with Soil.Management should approach & work with locals to maintain the approach roads.Staff Behaviors:Majority of the staffs blinks blind as like they doesn’t know what it is in spite those are mentioned in their posters/ display boards / printed pamphlets in and around the room.Needs training over the knowledge of their own hotel. No one knows about their own hotel except a lady & a man in reception.

The hotel is situated at a beautiful site. Could experience the real beauty and feel of hill stations. Also the facilities and services provided by the hotel management was excellent. The road to the hotel was a little tough thing, however management is planning to renovate the same in near future. If possible will look forward to stay here in our next trip as well.

Worst Service, I have ever seen. No House Keeping service.. No doubt property is well built but very poor maintenance. Location good but approach road very bad and it is adventurous to reach there.Attitude of most of staff members very bad.Booking done by travel agent and all payments were made in advance, so it was taken granted by staff.

The stay at this hotel was very pleasent. The rooms were very good and comfortable. View was very good. However food didnt taste good. The location is really good as it is about 4 km from the city and thus had a nice view, but was not crowded. The service was very quick, and the staff were very kind.
