One of the best engineering colleges in Ernakulam. As a student of this college i can verify that the environment is very nice. This is the host of the famous tech fest EXCEL and the college really lights up for it. This is the home of one of the best staffs in any engineering colleges. Even though the infrastructure is a little limited the college experience makes up for it.

My Best days of student life were spent here. Now Im realizing how much good MEC was after joining a private institution to do my PG. There is no need to brief about the academics and placement statistics about MEC as it is well known all over Kerala. If you are good with your academics ( not flooded with too many backlogs) there is no need to worry about the placements.You will surely get one from here. I stayed in college hostel during my third and fourth year. My life in MH was the best part of MEC life.There is no restriction on you and you have got ample amount of freedom. Honestly Now Im realizing the value of freedom after joining a college masquerading as a jail LOL. In MEC its purely under the discretion of a student whether to attend the class or not. It doesnt matter if you bunk classes and go home/roam around . No one will question you unless and until you have been given any deadline to finish a task. You just need to maintain a minimum level of attendance prescribed by the university. In our case it was 75 % overall when MEC was following CUSAT system. One of the main highlights of the college is its location. There is no such perfect location which can be given to a college. Normally most of the colleges will be situated on the outskirts with few km away from the city But this colleges location is just opposite. Being situated in Thrikkakara it is very close to malls like Oberon Mall and Lulu mall. These were the common spots for us during our time as both were located very close to MEC. Now with the advancement in connectivity you can reach to almost any part of the city with just a metro away or a click on the Uber/Ola App. Many new restaurants came up in and around MEC over these years mainly in Edappally, Cusat area. During our time the most commonly visited spots were Time Pass, Chai Chillum Chapati, Ajwa,Fathima Hotel, Chills Bakery (now Hotel Kismath), Royals Bakery mainly for Soda Sharbath, Burger Spot, Pandhal Cake Shop,Best Bakery,KR Bakes, Triveni Cusat Cafe. There is also a small shop near to CUSAT which is famous for Milk Sharbat.Special mention to the food which we were getting from MH. Most of the days we used to get Non Veg. They will provide fish fry on all days during lunch and you can even get multiple pieces unlike in other colleges where you will be given just a piece and later you have to see the grumpy face of the guy who serves it when you come for a second turn.For dinner we used to get chicken in most of the days. The combination will be like Ghee Rice- Chicken Roast or Kerala Rice-Chicken. The former combinaton occurs atleast twice in a week. We would be eagerly waiting for Wednesdays dinner as they will serve chicken biriyani on Wednesdays during our time. That biriyani was really scrumptious and I still miss that. For vegetarians they used to provide gobi manchurian and Veg Biriyani. We even used to grab our hands in taking the gobi manchurian as well. The non MH students had the liberty to come to MH and take the MH food as well. We had the full privilege to go out of the campus at any odd time. Normally we used to take someones bike and go to city at late night either to have some food ( mostly went to the thattukadas near to Life style mall/ Khyber cafe) or to have shakes in Kalamassery. There is a famous spot in Kalamassery where you will get toothsome fruit shakes. We even used to go for second shows in Lulu Mall even during weekdays as well.MH becomes more exuberant especially during the time of Arts,Excel,Senate Inauguration,Sports,Christmas Carol,Onam to name a few. Christmas time is best part of the season where MH students team up together and visits almost all places in and around MEC where MECians used to stay like YMCA girls hostel, Navajyothi Girls hostel, etc where we will go and chant carol songs. . Now in the reminiscence of those days I realized how beautiful the life in MEC was and I was very much fortunate to spent my student life here. Im really missing it.

Good college for B.tech students with all the placements, exposure and activities. All the students are extremely talented and competent, undoubtedly the institution is among the best colleges in the state. Some immature ego politics is still there among staff and the students and having studied there for two years M.tech courses are really sidelined and doesnt have much to do in the entire scenario. This College is within few meters from my house. Have state of the art facilities, good labs, good facilities and disciplined students. Mostly studious ones only get admission there. It have a boys hostel within the campus. Have 4 buses of its own. No girls hostel of its own. There are two main hostels for girls. One is run by Nava Jyothi Convent, other run by YWCA. There is one more hostel at pipe line jn. They have a wing working for charity known by the name MAD-MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Also they collect E-Waste, trade it and I think they use that money also for charity.
