This stadium owned by government body GCDA (Greater Cochin Development Authority), its apt for Foot ball, Cricket and hockey. Many major sports events had conducted here including ISL (football), IPL(cricket), under 17 football world cup, several international cricket & football matches. Presently its home ground of Kerala blasters FC. Stadium holds the privilege of having the fifth loudest crowd (128 db) in the world, during ISL 2016 final match where Kerala Blasters played against Atletico de Kolkata. Audience support of also very famous because of the manners when abandoned match between India and Australia Kochi ODI in 2010 every person left gallery peacefully, its very rare in India. This stadium also known as sachin tendulkar’s lucky ground because both 5 wicket in bowling from kochi and when he chose same stadium for football club again this was his lucky ground. Also should mention international friendship football match between India and Iraq in 1997, approximately 1,00,000 spectators filled up the venue, thus overcrowding it, which remains a record at this place.

Kerala Blasters play their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the Ernakulam district of Kochi. The stadium is multipurpose but is mostly used for football. It has hosted games of both the Indian national football and cricket teams, and has hosted National Football League and I-League clubs FC Kochin and Chirag United Club Kerala. The stadium was also a venue for the Indian Premier League side Kochi Tuskers Kerala and was selected as a venue for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. As a part of the FIFA event, the stadium was renovated and new seats were fitted and its capacity was reduced to 50,000 and later to 41,000, taking into account security issues. The stadium received the Best Pitch of the Season Award from FSDL during the 2018-19 season of Indian Super League. In 2019, Greater Cochin Development Authority proposed the installation of solar panels in the stadium, which would make it the first such venue in Kerala and the third in the country to be powered by solar energy. The Kerala Blasters are known in the ISL for their fanatical supporters. Averaging over 55,000 fans a game, the Blasters had the highest average attendance in most of the seasons they have played and it fell to 37,500 in 2017 because safety regulations reduced the stadiums capacity to 41,000 as a part of 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup where Kochi was a venue. According to former India international player Pappachen Pradeep, In Kerala, the people support football tirelessly. It doesnt matter if the team wins or loses, they are always there in high numbers. Ive played at places like Kolkata, where if the team loses two-three matches on the spin, the numbers in the stadium diminish. There is nothing like that in Kerala. However Kerala Blasters have seen reduction in the average attendance below 30,000 on two seasons. During 2018-19 season, the Blasters had an average attendance of 16,432 and it became 17,500 in 2019-20 season.According to Fox Asia, as of October 2020, the Blasters are the fifth most-popular Asian club on social media, becoming so in 2018 within the four years of its existence and were the youngest club among the list. The Blasters are also known for having one of the most vocal and passionate supporters group known as Manjappada.Founded in 2014, they are one of the largest and most active supporters group in the country. The group has also won two awards for the Best Fan Club at the Indian Sports Honours in 2017 and 2020.
This is the number one sports stadium in Kerala. Here, football and cricket is played both national and international levels
Its an International Stadium both famous for Cricket and Football.During matches its a great vibe to go there. The outer area is so peaceful and calm, a good place for walking, jogging, cycling and even skating when there are no matches going on.Also has good restaurants and cafe offering tasty food and hangouts.
Very nice place to spend our me time and with our friends and family. All kind of shopes are available to satisfy our taste buds. Its also a famous spot in kochi for joggin and health activities.

Super stadium love to see kbfc
Prime place in Kochi surrounded by residential houses, apartments and commercial spaces. The stadium even without any buzz inside is always beaming with life around it. Morning and evening walkers are regular, skateboarders are also sighted now, old and young seen at one place, all with masks due to pandemic, early morning market near it sells nice idli and dosa. Lovely place to be with anyone or enjoy your own company ❤️
Its a big stadium .... a good place to go for a walk .... it does not feel tired while walking in it .... because it has some food corner there.... There is good tasting food.,. 🤣🤣 A lot of people come to walk and run .. Kids play there ..... A few people sit idle .... I like to go and walk there.....
The best stadium in kerala 🎉
Best place for relaxing-exercise,jogging,cycling etc. Also houses many shops mainly restaurants which adds an advantage.
First time when I entered that stadium after running through all those stairs..that feeling cant be explained 💕...That place have a whole new vibe ...the 12th Man is so powerful.. enthusiastic...full of energy from the beginning till the end, we get a new level of energy when we are in that stadium. It is one of Kochis attraction. Hoping to go for another match after Corona 😌
International standard football ground. Very convenient gallery.
Its more like a snack and tea complex. Stadium is empty without any activities. Not even given for clubs for football games(can be divided to small courts like turff). Present condition is bad. During games its complete mess.GCDA is enemy of state.
This is just amazing to watch the kbfc football match from the stadium. It is a kind of experience you should never miss
Good ground..but due to low maintenance its seating area is poor
Simply the best stadium. A place etched in the memories of Kochi-ites. Cannot forget the international matches and the ISL matches viewed here.

I go there for evening walks around the stadium . Been going there for on and off 10-15 yrs. Good place , nice and spacious ,. Now there is a place on the side where there are some work out stations, work out using your own body weight.
Located in the heart of the city. Fairly well maintained. Is the walking hub of Cochin CIty... Because it is in the heart of the city, when hosting a Game/Show, traffic block would be at its peak... One of the prominent, landmarks of Ernakulam city
Good stadium ,often takes place international cricket matches.Roads connected to different parts of ernakulam. In the eve its a place to chill out with a cup of tea.Lovers ,friends ,senior citizens...can be convert into a common social meet platform
Loved it. One of the best in the country. Ith can hold bigger crowd. Watching a football game in this stadium along with this beautiful crowd is a mind blowing experience. It is situated nearer to Kaloor junction and there is a metro station near the stadium. So that the transportation is very easier. It has well equipped parking space which can hold a huge number of vehicles in it.
Nothing out there specifically could spend time with frnds but mosquitoes will be a problem and some hotels are there in the nearby places so take some food and have it from there , JNL stadium is not suggestible for spending free time but its good to a walk or for exercise in the evening time or in the morning.
Historical place which has witnessed many glorious moments of sports.
Jawaharla Nehru StadiumInternational stadium located at kaloor, Ernakulam (kerala). Neat and cool place. When it is ISL or any mateches there inside it may look like rushy and strict on security. But if noo mateches are there. It is the best ever place to go for evening walk or mng walk.. You can run around the circle of stadium road. Lot of ppl will be doing the same..There are lot of super and variety ly designed coffee shops and tea stalls.Lots of ppl will come here to get some open air feel and some relaxable moments.. There are lot of activities like rollar scating, adventure cycling classes are going there for kids .. If you visit at evening time between 4 to 7 PM you can vitness it at VIP gate area.Couples, families, singles all genere are there to spend their evening/early mng time.

Stadium atmosphere is awesome while the match of KBFC. But there Should be some improvements in the case of infrastructure.
A top class international stadium with over 50000 seating capacity and excellent amenities situated in the heart of Cochin. All the sports and games events conducted here had been very successful with spectators more than expected.Access is good from the main road which also has the metro railway station. The only real problem is the scorching heat and therefore a lot of water is needed to keep one active.
No doubts, the Best in waynad maybe in India.
Moderate traffic Areaat evening
Undoubtedly of the best stadiums in the country with more than 55k seating capacity. the support of the fans who are die hard sports lovers is a great advantage for the teams playing here
Youre not a true football fan from Kerala if you havent seen a match in this stadium!! ❤️🔥💯
Very good place with vegetables stall in early morning and good for morning walk. People come for food and exercise, skating , cycling , running , badminton and much more. But be careful there is heavy traffic a times and u should be careful with young children 😊
A well made and beautiful asset in Kochi . Well planned and kept. But not being utilized well ,we should have many more national events . A throne on kochi head

One of the best place to hangout for a walk. Couples are all around the stadium. Shops are available for a coffee tea or payasam. Walking around the centre is a good routine. Stadium is okay. Its not that clean so 4stars
Great atmos for KBFC matches thats about it .
Kochis pride. One of the largest stadium in India. Centrally located, now even better as Metro started operation. Ample parking space, but depends on the event, if its an international or national event its doubtful because of the restriction made by the authority. It highly recommend to use the public transportation to visit on such days.
It is one of the international stadium in indiaAnd the only one is kerala kochiFifa worldcup under17 was held hereISL is on going here every yearIt was a multi sports ground early but as of now it is only use as football groundI use to come here to watch football matches that I couldIt is a very nice stadium with good support staffs and they provide a wide parking space for the customers
