Excellent experience. I have heard about Kerala Govt Water Transport Corporatiin. First time had direct experience.Ernakulam Boat Jetty was very nice. Well maintained with sufficient ticket counters. Looks like a Railway Terminal.Adequate frequency to Vipin Island. Almost 30 minutes trip on the Sea. Chance to see big ships of all types so closely. All these at a very very modest fare.I recommend this for everyone who visit Ernakulam.
Nice and usefulYou can travel with minimum fare and minimum time and avoid long distance by road
Good service. Staffs are very friendly. 2 jangar boats are operating continuosly. So almost no wasting of time.
We traveled to Fort Kochi and caught the Ferry over to Vypeen. We then traveled across the island to Charai beach by tuck tuck. Its a long sandy palm tree lined beach. Its clean and has a great selection of cafes and bars offering food and drinks. Next visit to Kerala we are contemplating staying there. Also very interesting watch sea hawks dive for fishFrom Cherai we traveled by car to Fort Kochi and took a ferry. Ferry carries people, cars, two wheeler and even a tempo traveller to Vypin in about 7 minutes. If you travel by road, I was told it will take around 1hr 30 minutes. The ferry charge per person is only Rs.3/- for one way and for our car we paid Rs.35/- one way. You have motor boat service also. The adjoining beach is very clean and splendid. we sighted some thing like a small dolphin vertically revolving around itself in the sea. we are not quite sure about what it is.
A great service. Loved the ferry rides along with car
This ferry can transport all types of four wheelers. The facility is available at short intervals. This route is the fastest way to get to Fort Kochi considering the heavy traffic on the Thoppumpady bridge. It is maintained by the Government of Kerala. The cost of transportation is also very cheap.
Timing of VYPEEN - ERNAKULAM FERRY
Very nice service
Peaceful journey with lots of fresh air. Ticket rate ₹4. Ferry service connects your to Cochin, Willington island and Ernakulam. Cochin service is not so frequent. Ferry ride is a pleasant experience. It goes close to merchant ships. Its a normal commute for people for work. It has waiting area with limited seating arrangements.
Boats to Ernakulam starts from here. This is also known as Vypin ferry. Location is beautiful, enriched with natural resources.
