I have dined in here prior to covid and ordered food a lot of times after that as well. The place is good although its not authentic Chinese, its tasty and the portion sizes are definitely worth the money. The staff is quite cordial and service is good. Apart from swiggy and zomato, they even have their own delivery service so you can call them directly and order.

This review is based on my personal experience at Chiyang on 19/09/2020 at around 5PM(dine in). I was extremely hungry as this was a late lunch. I usually dont do negative reviews and try to talk with the restaurant people, but this was bad. Very Bad.Its a bit odd having this review amongst all these positive reviews. But here goes nothing.Lets begin with the soup. The Hot and Sour Chicken soup was unlike anything I have had before. It was a thiccc gooey mess. It was definitely hot. The kick from the green chilli was a bit too overwhelming.Then came the Prawns Fuyong. This was pretty decent from the fact that there was a ton of Ajinomoto. Before you ppl blame me for complaining about Ajinomoto in my Chinese food, I am Pro-MSG. But as they say it, Wu Ji Bi Fan! (if you know, you know)Now to the mains. Chilly beef with Pork and Prawns fried rice. Chilly beef was a semi dry gravy dish in a salty soy sauce based gravy.The meat was too salty for my liking . Soy sauce was used generously in this dish and hence the black colour. This was a big no no for me. The fried rice on the other hand was under seasoned. Probably they ran out of MSG after the Fuyong. The quality of the rice was pitiful. The lack of seasoning helped in bringing out the chaak ari smell of the rice(aka ration ari/rice).

This restaurant use to be great. Im not sure what had happened but it has gone down hill from food to service.Very disappointed we use to love this restaurant.

Went to Chiyang after a really long time.. it was around 2.30 in the afternoon that we went.. so there wasnt too much rush.. as usual the food was amazing.. but the service was oh so poor.. I could see the waiters standing by and whiling away their time time chatting.. hence the 3 stars.. it is understandable to wait if they were attending to other customers.. but this wasnt acceptable.. would be nice if they gave more importance to their jobs.

It is a good chinese restaurant to dine in with friends and family. Food is good in terms of quantity and quality.But bad service of management ruined our dining experience. AC was not working on upstairs , even though we enquired about it some lame reasons were stated. They didnt even had the courtesy to apologise for it.

We ordered their special chilli pork, chilli chicken, mixed fried rice, chicken noodles. We were disappointed totally. Chilli chicken and chicken noodles were not fresh.We had much expectation regarding the reviews mentioned below. Months before we had visited the other outlet too. We were not even able to eat. Quantity was as usual gross ,But quality was worse. Service has improved after all. #worst_experience.

They say this is one of the best chinese places in kochi. Im from padamughal & a huge fan of chopstix(both kakkanad & palarivattom). Also a fan of Ming Palace, Hao ming of thrissur. Comparing to those places this one was kind of different. Some dishes were good, some were not upto mark. We started with soup- chicken noodle soup & cream of chicken soup. Chicken noodle was surprisingly good- even tastier than cream of chicken which is not as good as i expected.for starter we had chicken lollipop- one order serves 8 pieces.- it was tasty but there wasnt any sticky sweet spicy coating or any sauce which i found odd. usually chinese is all about the sauces - bt it was still tastyfor main course we ordered schezwan fried rice(without pork), chicken Noodles & american chopseuy(without pork) along with dragon chicken & cantonese chicken(to try something different)Chopseuy was very dissapointing- i felt like having chinese chat not chopseuy. Chillax serves the best chopseuy in kochi(unfortunately they are closed now).Dragon chicken was not the best- it was okay but not enough dragon flavour or cashew nuts.Cantonese chicken was too runny & chicken was overcooked(first time having overcooked chicken in a chinese place!!!!) - still it was tasty & had nice flavour which i lovedSchezwan fried rice tasted like tomato rice & it was burnt so it tasted partly of charcoal- didnt like- also more egg than chickenChicken noodles i expected itll be the worst of the 3 but it was the best. totally loved it. it had huge pieces of chicken, egg & loads of spring onion & veggies - very flavourfulthe food we ordered initially was actually enough for 8 people- so the waiter suggested we cut down on the portions. so we had dragon chicken,noodles & fried rice in half portionsThe service is excellent.the place is famous for pork- had we ordered that we mightve enjoyed more.But in this case we ordered chicken items & only liked cantonese chicken, chicken noodles, chicken lollipop & chicken noodle soup.overall a good experienceps: for those who plan to go always confirm with the waiter about portion size of each dish before you order.

Went there today for the first time, for the last meal of 2020. The ambience is wonderful and the place gets really busy and you cant blame the service, cuz there are customers literally waiting outside for the tables to clear. I went to dine in with my friend and we ordered the famous schezwan noodles, chiyang special fried rice, chilly chicken and dragon chicken. Personally Im not the greatest fan of fried rice so I didnt love it, and the chilly chicken was just ok, but the schezwan noodles and the dragon chicken was lip smacking delicious the noodles was wonderfully spicy and the chicken was crispy and juicy at the same time and the half portion was actually more than we could eat, so we Parceled it all for our roommates. If you are visiting the place dont forget to try their schezwan noodles

Quantity of food they provide is immense. Even with a half fried rice, 2 people can eat well. But they have to work on the authentic chinese taste.

Ordered chilly pork and mixed noodles, pork was not cooked properly and foul smell, noodles was dipped in oil and the pork portion in noodles was only fat. very bad experience in total this is second time experience for very bad food served from there Kadavantra branch, Luckily I didn’t get food poisoning !! If you people can’t serve good food better stop the business and stop looting customers like this

First of all the parking along with very nice ambiance with nice central A/C and quite inside.Food, we had a very good requirement of spicy food and so was the food very spicy. The quantity of the food is excellent. The starter soup also was taken 1/2 and had very nice quantity.The taste I would not say excellent but its very good and nice its a good place for family and couples dinning.Service is also adiquate and you will not feel the need of one or missing anything.

Worst experience ever. We ordered honey and pepper pork, but the dish was just some cooked pork in sugar and a huge amount of soy sauce. It was a complete waste. We also ordered dragon chicken and chilly chicken. Both the dishes were just red in colour. Chicken dipped in colour powder that’s what it can be called. No salt, no spice or any flavour. We once complained about having no flavour or spice in pur food, but these people doesn’t care. We got the food with same mistake again. Our dinner was spoiled.

Have been here earlier but this visit made me write about the place. Good cosy ambience. Makes you feel as if you have reached China. The highlight is the food and man the chilly chicken is finger licking good. We ordered some fried rice , chilly chicken and noodles. All were awesome . But yes Chilly chicken won the show.

Quantity of food is good enough for two those who are medium eaters especially fried rice .Some times food quality getting changed may be the chef change .Good parking slot available. Week ends rush is more so waiting will be higher.

Probably Im already not a big fan of Chinese food and all the Chinese experience I had was from Switzerland where its really different comparing Indian Chinese food or restaurants ... Walked into Chiyang for a quick lunch. The Menu was detailed. However some dishes were not available on that day. Ordered a few simpler dishes. Was delivered in good time. However the food was missing flavour. Felt that it was made mechanically. A strong chemical cleaner used was making the environment nauseating. Billing took some time and I had to keep asking for the bill. Overall it was not a good experience and hence do not recommend this place for a good dining experience.
