On road best place to have a hunger break. Loved their dosa and bullet idli. They have out sitting arrangements and one can sit inside the restaurant too. But the noise of kitchen and the smell of other food items are high inside. They can play some good music to add on to the experience to their customers and need to do something about kitchen noise. There is a hand wash area where there is no sign board which they need to have and also I have no idea about the toilets if they have. Their chola bhatura is also so yummy.
The food is great, but would have been more happier if I had more paneer in my paneer butter masala.
Better put a name only for northies. Most of their suppliers are racist. They are least caring to keralites. Only they were interested in attending the northies. Today we visited and for taking the order from us waited for more than 15 minute and were treated like having food for free. Ordered food not delivered on time after doing a lot of follow up with the supplier. Last we had ordered a chat but we waited so long and left without having due to this poor service. Next to us one northern side family was also there and the waiter attended and took care of them warmly. They ordered more than the dish we ordered and supplied on time. Will never visit here in the future and Im going to tell this incident to the nearest one also. This is not the first time this kind of similar incident happened. But again I visited here just because it is nearer to my home.
Order taking staff are not well trained. Even if theres something available , theyll say its not available . Youll be lucky if they hear you out .White Coconut chutney served with Dosa was stale from atleast a couple of days before.
Just can be noisy around! They have Seats available inside the restaurant and a few tables in the portico which is great for friends get togethers. Love the cleanliness standards they have. They have a dedicated chat counter in the evenings. Will have to wait for few minutes when go during luch time. Maybe the palm leaf made house type can give you all a feel of Nostalgia, but for me its that space known or tagged as Ittys when I was studying in SH. Its just another space of hangout ;)
I used to have lunch from Gokuls oottupura before covid19, with that belief i took my friends from Trivandrum today to Oottupura and had the worst kind of food i ever had from a hotel. I am totally disappointed in the kind of food quality you provide. Kindly bring back the old food quality or else you may loose customers like us.
Brilliant place for vegetarians . Might be expensive for regulars but very affordable to people who want to indulge once in a while. Love the cleanliness standards they have. The service is above average. What impresses me the most time and again is the hand wash area in the main restaurant. They have a dedicated chat counter in the evenings. Overall a must visit place for anyone who wants to try any vegetarian dishes.
Will tempt you to visit the place again and again due to the excellent taste. Pav Bhaji is a must try
Got my onam sadya from here yesterday for thiruonam.. and it was a very bad choice.. it didnt have many normal curries which any sadya shud have including Pineapple curry, black gram curry and a few others..But pineapple Curry missing was an utter disappointment for me..Palada tasted decent.. parippu payasam was not good at all and all curries and even the rice was ice cold.. curries I can understand, but atleast if the rice was atleast warm, I wouldnt have complained so much. After paying 350/- you dont expect to get something which is almost like a Rs. 120/- meals..Never again for Sadya from Gokul...
Doesnt compare in ambience to the coziness of the Gokul Oottupura behind Ernakulathappan ambalam, or to the efficiency of the one in edapally. But it’s a good one.
Wanted to share a very bad experience we had today when we visited Gokul Oottupura Panampilly Nagar with family. The staff by name Rijo (That was the name given to me by the manager)has misbehaved with us when enquired about Onam sadya. Somebody needs to teach their staff on how to behave to the customers. I have brought it to the manager’s notice as well. The body language of the staff was disrespectful and he needs to be taught how to show good manners. When customers approach, he never looks at them and shows highly unwelcoming body language and gives away an indifferent response as if it was a mistake to go there after the sadya orders were closed. I have been a regular Gokul oottupura customer, and this was our first negative experience.
Had never tried a pure Kerala cuesine , liked it to the core. The place was nice , not so sophisticated, but simple. Service was quick . They were kind enough to explain the dish variety and choose a good one, as we were trying it for the first time . Easy on pocket , may have to wait for few minutes when go during luch time.
It was a good experience with gokul. We had dragon idly and masala dosa from gokul and it was awesome. We like your food 😍🥰. And we will recommend others too. They got really good interior with live kitchen inside. They have enough space for seating and good space for parking too. All the staffs are friendly to the customers and they will assist very quickly. Overall it was wonderful
Good breakfast .....Great for South Indian food . Very polite staff and very clean interior ... Ghee rost I had was top in quality and for the price its worth a lot .... Fast service though they handle a good crowd .. I will surely visit there again .. photos will add next visit... And now today Ive a second thought .. Had lunch and that wasnt up to the mark .
A place serving piping hot Dosas and Vegetarian fare all day.Menu is limited but good selection available.Lots of Parking on on the main road and service road.Seats available inside the restaurant and a few tables in the portico which is great for friends get together - as you can be noisy there!Quick serviceReasonably pricedThe place for everyday eating
Wonderful restaurant in Panampilly Nagar. Ideal for friend and family tea time and snacks. Good quality vegetarian dishes. But a tad to warm in here if coming got lunch. Being an open restaurant, theres no AC. But in the evening the joint is bustling with people. Overall good establishment
Couldnt find negative stars for feedback. If youre ready to wait for food which would eventually turn into a night-out, this is the best place to go. They serve leftover food if you reach 1 hr. before closing time & pronounce it complementary since it was not your choice of order.
Totally disappointed with the food and service. We will get better food and service with decent price in Vanitha hotel.Dont recommend for lunch.
I already visited the Padivattom branch mmm all good there and now it’s Panampilly Nagar’s turn YEAH! Sorry for the same dish I tried already😬 One and only “Crispy Crunchy Corn🌽 because I really loved it🥰 and tried another starter “Chilli Potato🥔” small sliced potatoes with green chillies and some spice mixtures but not too spicy, really delicious🤤 and in the main course I tried the “ Butter Masala Dosa” just wow! I’m not a fan of masala dosa but this buttery dosa is just something else YEAH! And next the “Chettinadu Paneer Masala”something like that (but not in the picture) with butter nan mmm just awesome and finally the “Cold Horlicks” mmm good👍 but the tea☕️ disappoints, not good enough and one thing too the ambiance, its busy, disturbing, loud, closely to cooking area but overall good😀
Its very sad that such a good restaurant is providing extremely diluted soap water at the washroom for hand wash specially during covid 19 situation. Its totally unsafe and not at all appreciated and when informed to the manager they are not at all serious. The food is amazing and good quality. Two Stars for not being serious about safety.
I went to Gokul ootupura, today evrning. The tables there were partially occupied especially the bigger ones with 6/7 chairs were occupied by 2/3 people. We requested to arrange us a seat to the manager thrice by rearranging the seats judiciously . He doesnt give a damn. He was വേണേൽ കഴിച്ചിട്ട് പോടാ attitude and. words. Just hated it
Ambience, staff behaviour, toilets and parking were good. But food was not that much tasty.Price little bit high but it is a multi cuisine restaurant, so keep in mind.
Excellent place for veg food. north indian dishes are good. But chatts mentioned in menu like pag baji / paani poori /vada paav /samoosa chaat is only available at evening . Beverages live cold boost cold horliks are not met the expectations as compared to price charged to it. Its also a place that lots of celebrities used to have food. Wide parking area is also a plus point. Waiters are not malayalees . No air-conditioning is provided .
Cost is normal than other restuarent. Even they dont provide a proper bills showing only purchased item without amount. 💔
Gokulam Oottupura is one of the best vegetarian restaurant in Panampillily Nagar, Ernakulam. Their Masala Dosa and Iddilly is really good . This place is almost full most of the time, which is good us also, as we will fresh food. Ambiance is really good, they do have inside seating arrangement and outside seating arrangements and a waiting area also. Gokulam Oottupura can be easily located from Panampilly Nagar Main Avenue. Very nice place to have Dosas
Came here after seeing inflated google reviews.Employees with an attitude especially the short girl. She thinks she doesnt deserve to work here and acts as if she is doing a favor. She bad mouths non malayalee workers as if they are not humans.Food is nothing remarkable either for the price and inflated reviews in google. Bland tasting. Ghee roast didnt even have a minuscule taste of ghee in it.I was served a stone cold ghee roast for 70 Rs. The addons included a table which was not cleaned and an attitude.Wont eat here for ethical reasons. Please go somewhere else for better tasting food and price.
Taste is good, but quantity is not at all justifyiable to the rates ( for some dishes ).I ordered a chilly paneer dosa.Price Rs. 124Paneer was just tossed for namesake. I had ordered an onion rava masala (Rs. 86) which had more quantity than chilly paneer dosa.Consider your decision while ordering a chilly paneer dosa, else be prepared to order another dish.
Very nice place, good restaurant. Staff is also good. Food quality is good. Nice food for reasonable rate.
Decent food but dishes are bit costly. Gokul oottupura is a good choice for vegetarian breakfast. The interior is good and the premises are kept clean.
Went there to have Al faham but came to know that it was a vegetarian hotel. Was forced to have overpriced masala dosai.
Ideal Destination for a casual family meal, breakfast lunch or.dinner, prompt staff, focus is on food. Freshly prepared and delicious
Excellent service tasty food 😋
Very poor service..none of their staffs are bothered to look at the customers sitting around..plus they take their own sweet time to get orders
Had ghee roast which was costing 100 rs really I thought I should have gone to BTH or sree krishna inn and have, it was not to rate of tht money even the hand washing area found rats running and soap dispenser was not working un hygiene
It was good till a few months back....now not reaching upto the mark....we were regulars there, visiting almost every week...but for the last 2 weeks, the food as well as the service was very bad. The only thing which was okay and palatable were the chat items. All the other usual items were not good. Yesterday was our last visit to ootupura.
Excellent ambience, tasty and quality food.
Nice ambience food is good rate is slightly high. parking difficult in peek hours .
Honestly the standard has come down.ordered idly, rava dosa and vada.vada and dosa where fine although no salt, but fine with chutney.idly was horrible..i think they use some mix or god knows if old batter..it was powdery..horrible.i give it a two star BUT AVOID THE IDLLYS.
Always delicious vegetarian food Doshas, chats and a variety of good food, reasonably priced.
Love the ambience...the service....and most of all, the food at Gokul Ootupura - Panampilly Nagar. The place is always clean and the food is always prepared fresh and hot! Crispy Vadas and soft Idlis are sure winners. However, the Podi Masala Dosa is an Absolute Standout!
A must visit place for all the vegetarians out there...located on the Panampilly main road, this is kne of the finest places to eat in downtown Kochi
Its a nice vegetarian restaurant
Suppliers are very unhygienic. They touches their face masks frequently and supplies food without even washing their hands.
Good dosas
Its my first visit... Food was good and so tasteful... Simply superb
Good food, reasonable rates, nice ambience and well mannered and nice customer service
Budget place with very low quality food
Good food. Nice staff but pricey 🤠
I had gone to have lunch with my parents. Most is the items on the menu were not available in the afternoon as priority was given to traditional Kerala meals. Even the north indian thali was not available. My mother had a traditional meal which she declared was absolutely mediocre, my dad an I settled for Chapati, Paneer Kadai and Gobi Manchurian. The chapatis were decent, the same cannot be said of the Paneer Kadai, the recipe for the same was not followed and the cook conjured up something with some paneer in it, as for the Gobi Manchurian it had a strong taste of tomato sauce, I dont think Chinese use tomato sauce in their dishes. I would not want go back there again. The prices fir the dishes were on the medium side but the dishes need a lot of improvement.
Good hygienic and neat vegetarian option. And good tasting food
Nice place, very good ambience, like the vada sambar its really mouth watering.
Decent experience. Nothing out of the ordinary food, convenient location
Very good ambience
Masala Dosa is good. Good service.
Tasty & quality food
This place had a lot of heart. I found the entrees to be very agreeable to my personal flavor-profile. I found the ambiance to be very charming. The waiter was prompt and polite. Overall experience: 4 stars.
Food and service was really good! But the potion size is too less. Thalis mentioned in the menu have sweets, but the real one we got had no sweet. Plus rice was of a very small quantity! Its not worth the money.
Best pure vegetarian restaurant in Kochi..👌
Food was good. Not as much as the hype, but tasty and clean. I liked it.
Visited this morning 🤗 . Good staffs , Good atmosphere , Tasteful dishes
Food was not good as expected
Good vegetarian hotel. Very clean and neat. The food is of great quality and not too expensive. Variety of chats and north Indian dishes are also available.
Really bad meals.
One of the best vegetarian restaurant in Kochi..
Good ambience and set up. If you are going for a dinner it will be difficult for you to eat peacefully. Mosquitoes will check your patience. Otherwise its a good place. Good food for average pricing is the major attraction here.
Earlier the restaurant was good and now it lost all of its fame. Food quality is very vad now. After a long time had food from this restaurant. The taste is not like older days...Their restaurant in bypass is far better than this.
Very good food... Good south Indian food for North Indians (in my opinion)The staff is extremely good. Place is clean. Price is reasonable. Parking can become little challenging (that is true for most places)
Good food, reasonable prices, courteous staff
