Good museum inside IIT campus. Its located Hijli side, near Hijli Jail. Once u visit here, dont forget to visit Hijli Jail. Those are completely free. Though museum have lot of chance to implement 👍🏼

Excellent Science, Mathematics and Technology displayed for all and especially for school students. Also very nicely organised. Explains engineering and science very well with various models. Must visit for science and engineering lovers.

It is one of the best museum according to my opinion. It contains good science related things and anyone can gain practical knowledge by the materials here. It is situated inside the IIT Kharagpur campus and at the old building near the last end of the academic campus. you will get some important and good experimental set ups of basic things in science.The museum is very well organized. There is Hijli jail near this museum. there are two sessions in the morning and evening session during which the museum remains open.

One of must visit places in Kharagpur. This museum is nothing less than a treasure house where you can learn loads of stuff about science, history and other subjects. The timings are very convenient. There is no amount charged to visit this place. The surroundings is just beautiful.

What a pleasant place! Visiting this place is like going back in history. Even though it was a detention camp, it was only because of the vision of Nehru ji that this place spawned into a giant campus we know as IIT Kgp today, the mother of all IITs. The museum is brilliant, certainly a thousand times better than even the govt run science museums Ive seen till date. Kgpians are lucky to be living in a campus of such scientific and historical importance. A must visit for every student and their parents who come here. I was lucky enough to visit the Kgp campus in this lifetime.

I went to this place on mar, 2018 while Im attending the INAE conclave. This place is awesome and there is lots of things to see here. Especially inside the IIT KGP, it takes about 3 complete days to vist entire places. The central library is one of the good place to visit. This Nehru museum has an iconic building structure and it has some good stories with our freedom fighters.If you have a free time means, i suggest you to vist this place.

Nice science museum. The place is calm and quiet. The instruments are good to understand. Although some of the instruments are not working but i think thay will repair soon. Any ways the photo collection room is very actrative it represents the whole campus of iit Kharagpur.

During British rule it was a jail known as hijili jail...it was from here iit kgp started ...now it has been converted into museum out side the building there is body of MIG 29

HERE IS A TOUCH OF HISTORY AND SCIENCE

Its a really good science museum. Anyone with high school level knowledge of science will be enjoy the museum. Many attractive models of geometry, physics and many other things are there. Along with these, there is a photography gallery also. Anyone any age will love to visit this. The museum is not very big and there is no entry fee for it.

The Nehru museum of science and technology is one of the oldest technological museum in India. It is situated inside the campus of Indian Institute of technology, kharagpur in West midnapur district of West Bengal. It has a good collection of scientific models specially in related to mechanical equipments. It is highly beneficial for school children to understand the complexity of science in easiest way.

The second most personal favourite spot in the campus of mine, as a visitor.(The first being helipad.)Why? Because this place has some unmatched aura hidden into it. The history that is entwined into each of its brick of the building screams out the importance till now.The structure is now converted into a museum, serving as a thrilling destination for the science/history enthusiasts and kids alike.

It is really good to have such museum in the Institute. It is a piece of attraction and serves its purpose. When I visited the museum meant to display the history of IIT Kharagpur was under renovation, i wish to see it soon. Most importantly, the building which was meant to capture our Heroes of Independence is now used to display the success of our country post-independence.

If you are person who loves the practical aspect of science, trust me the place is for you.It is located in the promises of IIT Kharagpur near Ramanujan complex (Takshashila).The Nehru Museum demonstrates various types of couplers of different times.It is beautifully shown how transverse waves are generated and propagates.There are various models to do practical of theory part.There models of boat of different era are kept.The place has different models of computer from ABACUS TO SUPERCOMPUTER.Gallery shows rockets of India.Various experiments like Newtons three laws of motion,Lentzs law, Magnetic effect of current, Gravitational law,Henery law,three levels of liquid,coupled ossilation etc.Also how lighting and thunder takes place,how hyperbola is formed,how area of different geometric figures are proved.last but not the least there is a huge picture gallery of variety and variabilities of plants and animals. There is a giant fighter jet of air India kept beside the entrance of Nehru Museum.Beside It,there is central jail where our political leaders were kept for their AGITATION again British Rule.

This place has some real history behind it. It signifies and dignifies the sweat and blood behind our hard fought freedom. But the college management trying to renovate it for almost two whole years is truly unacceptable.

Fabulous. Many times have got past the museum to have a sip at Kalidas canteen. Last Thursday entered the room. Was overjoyed. Felt like a school kid There are so many mechanics models, bench top machines and physics set up, it is a treat for young science lovers. Will show my daughter

Hijli Detention Camp

Its really a must visit place in IIT Kharagpur. The practical application of different mathematical and scientific concepts are simulated through simple models to provide a better insight into the amazing magical world of Science and Technology.Once a detention camp built to stop the freedom fighters who sacrificed their youth for the country, now has stood to inspire a billion of dreams dedicated to nation through the worship of Science and Technology.But as per the high esteemed status of this premier institute of India, it is expected from the authority to have a more vigilant look over the maintenance of the museum equipments.

It was quiet informative. The locomotives outside are genuine and theres also an old prison where freedom fighters were kept after conviction of sedation.

Good place to visit for school students and basic science working models are there. Also evolution of road, water and air transport is being nicely presented with the help of model. One can also see the evolution of computer, typewriter and memory devices. Beautiful pictures of every corner of the campus are also being displayed.

Good museum... Basically it deals with all the appliances of physics and chemistry.... School students have many educational tour here... Its a huge place to extend your knowledge. Outside of it there is a fighter plane which gives us detailed information about aerospace science and the Hijli jail is also there where many freedom fighters were imprisoned and were brutally murdered by the Britishers.

Nehru Museum of Science and Technology is located in the old building of IIT Kharagpur - a historic building - the infamous Hijli Detention Camp of the pre-Independence era. In the 50th year of Indias independence, on 16th September, 1997, it was renamed as Hijli Shahid Bhavan to commemorate the martyrdom of two freedom fighters at the Hijli Detention Camp in September 1931.

One of the oldest musuem with modern tech touch. Oldest specimens of fighter planes and ammunitions are there. A pride of West Bengal. Hijli jail is a memorial place where the freedom fighters became Martyrs!

Visit only if u want to behold the iconic building of Hijli Detention Camp. Otherwise, dont. Theres nothing much to see there.

Science and Technology museum of IIT Kharagpur. One among the must visit places in IIT Kharagpur. No entry fees but remains open till 5pm or so. Exciting and interesting innovations and discoveries in science and technology portrayed through models and installations. Interactive working models to depict the working of some theorems also available. A section on the historical development of computers is a must-see in this museum. It would hardly take an hour to complete a tour inside.

I was having high expectation with this museum as its in heart of technological hub of IIT,But its a small museum with limited artifact on display.But i must appreciate its cleanliness,There is a prision also available near by but nothing special to mention about it.
