BHEL was founded on 9 January 1974 and JHANSI Unit is one of the 14 manufacturing units of the (BHEL). BHEL Jhansi started production of Transformers upto 400 kV class/Traction xmer/ESP xmer./Dry Type Xmer and voltage Xmer and current Xmer in the year 1976. BHEL Jhansi was in the business of another one product groups name Locomotive WAG 7 AC locomotive 3300 hp/wagons ( Currently Locomotive production has been stopped but that is not permanently). BHEL Jhansi has been certified for ISO 9001:2001 for Quality Assurance. But in my supervision quality is not very good. Plant staff is very supportive and knowledgeable. Good place for training purposes for students. But there is lack of safety..BHEL is also one Maharatna CPSEs of India...Thanks..
