Very tastefully and culturally decorated, giving a lot of information about the life in Spiti valley and about its people.The hosts are as friendly as one can be and curate most delectable of dishes from their comprehensive menu.Sol Cafe is an initiative of Spiti Ecosphere which works towards the development and upliftment of the Spiti community through various social and economic initiatives. And towards which they offer various eco tourism programmes through which travellers can volunteer their time for different time periods as per their suitability.A wonderful initiative, and Cafe Sol is a must visit place if one is in Kaza!

I ordered Sol Special Vegetable Sandwich for 200 Rps. - It was nothing worth 200 Rps. It was so small in quantity and very ok in taste.I ordered cold coffee - It was very very bad.For 1 Sandwich 1 cold coffee and 1 Tea we got the bill of 430 rps.Does it make sense?

Nice ambiance and a good place to chill. They also have volunteers working opportunity here. However the food is a little on the higher side, cost-wise but as they are into sustainable tourism therefore it all goes into a good cause. It is part of Spiti ecosphere and works towards a good cause for the locals.

This amazing cozy Cafe with its rustic charm caught my attention while in Kaza. The beautiful interiors and a great menu are straightaway winners here. And the backside outdoor balcony is the perfect place to get lost reading your favorite book.Recommended!

I would leave zero stars if I could. Don’t spend your money there. Local vendors foods are much tastier. The food was of poor quality (tasteless) and was overpriced.worst cafe I have ever experienced.

One of the best cafes in Kaza. Offers you lots of insights about the place, one can buy souvenirs from here. We had a freshly made waffle with Nutella. Sol Cafe by Ecosphere also offers you opportunity of doing volunteer program from improving the livelihood of the people from Spiti. Had a good experience overhere. A must visit place.

This is one of the hallmark place of Spiti / kaza. Its run by NGO ecosphere. Food stuff is bit expensive but everything is ploughed back for good cause. Try different pasteries/cake. They also take care of pretty much all the dogs of market area (vaccines and sterilization) they have movie nights which can be good way to meet other travelers.

Coming from Delhi I was a little shaken just by the views, landscapes sunsets and the amazing people around me. Our hotel was close to the cafe, and as I ventured out to explore I stumbled upon Cafe Sol.Bright orange interiors with notes left by people on colorful papers, art and craft used to highlight hand made chocolates, sandwiches etc.Apart from warm smiles they also sell souvenirs like Yak magnets and hair clips for you to take back.The have a hall above the cafe where they screen movies in the evening, and i luckily for me they were showing Into the Wild. Movie ticket is inclusive of a drink, homemade chocolate and a sandwich.Great place to chill and have that conversation you have been delaying for a very long time.Bon Appetit

Great food, good vibes

Small and quirky cafe in Kaza. They had western styled toast and desserts. I had the peanut butter and Nutella toast which was delicious. The cafe latte was good as well. The cafe only has snacks and drinks. They have another restaurant called Taste of Spiti, where you can find main course. This place even has movie nights for a nominal price. We watched 7 years in Tibet during the movie night. A must-go place when in Kaza.

This cafe is such a beautiful collection of so many stories of Traveller. You will get uptown menu blended in local flavor.Wonderful social work done by this organization for the locals and for our environment 🙂

They are into helping developing sustainable business in Kaza. I think it is part of Spiti Ecosphere. Enjoy your time here. You might get a few books to eat. They show movies here and can be a good spot for intellectual stimulation. They are doing good work for the valley.

It gets one star for behaviour of one their volunteers. She had a very bad habit of interrupting the customers and couldnt get that we dont want to talk to her.Maybe,they should have a better scrutiny process for hiring volunteers.

Very nice place to sit and spend sometime with friends. The cafe guys are also very friendly but its expensive, damn expensive. Liked the concept and everything but as a backpacker as cant spend a lot which made me feel a little bad. But overall a great place to spend sometime.

Visited in early June-2019.Edibles were bit expensive.The big turn down was one of their female member who handle customers as per her own norms by calling them “ridiculous people”.Waffles/sandwiches/coffee was not so gud. Masala tea was only appriciable thing they had.Sitting area is well designed.

What a brilliant little cafe. If youre in Kaza this is a great place to have your first meal. Theyre super informative about the area, sell good food with local and more Western options, and I found the staff super friendly. If youre here or at Taste of Spiti, the shikanji is a must try (for all the wrong reasons ahah). Not only is the food and cafe good, theres a wealth of fun activities like cooking local cuisine or being a monk for a day. My only regret is I couldnt have done more. The people here are also big supporters and basically founders of responsible tourism in the area, so you can be sure youre supporting a good cause. Brilliant place for travellers, with benefits for locals.
