Entry Fees 25 bucks. Dont buy extra camera pass if you are only carrying mobile phones. No one inside cares about the pass.I loved the architecture of this palace. Small in terms of being called a palace still nicely built.Wanted to see relics, coins, palace heritage things but most of the things inside on showcase are fake or printouts. Was disappointed when I couldnt see any information about the family which lived there. Extra and unwanted information not related to this palace is mentioned here and there. In short, good place to visit but dont expect much of a heritage things there.

Krishnapuram palace itself is a site museum as it acclaims an age-old tradition and antiquity. An Archaeological Museum is functioning inside this palace. Antique objects excavated by the Department of Archaeology and the exhibits brought about from the other regions are also housed in this museum. The idols and vessels made of bronze collected from Annamalanatharu temple, Thodupuzha, Idukki district are the auspicious exhibits there. Images made of bronze and wood; potteries excavated from different sites, traditional weighing apparatus, stone sculptures, swords, coins etc. exhibited there are noteworthy.Krishnapuram Palace is a traditional Pathinarukettu with 22 rooms and four Nadumittams, the courtyard at the centre of the traditional houses of Kerala. This two storeyed edifice comprises of the Poomukham, Kovenithalam, Neerazhikettu, Nellara, Madappally (Kitchen), compound wall and the Padippura, the traditional gateway. The Poomukham, Kovenithalam, Neerazhikettu, Nellara, Madappally (Kitchen), are located on the ground floor. The Manthrasala, guest room, and other bedrooms are on the first floor. The drainage system using stone pipes, the wooden works and elegantly designed ceilings of the palace deserve special mention.

Such a laid back peaceful building that is of great significance to kerala history. The first thing you notice is how well they have preserved all those ancient artifacts and the rooms of the palace intact in all its glory. Its as if the palace still has its King to take care of it. The inside of the palace is very beautiful and calming. Amongst must visit places near kayamkulam.
