One of the best, nicest and friendliest places we have discovered in Kathmandu: Good coffee, lots of good vegan options on the menue and great eggs Benedict/ Florentine plus heavenly French Toast. All that provided by a very friendly and generous owner.

The place itself is very comfortable and cozy. But dont go there for nepalese food, they have some asian food options though that you can get somewhere else a lot cheaper, but the majority of the food is western. The prices at the French Bakery are quite high for nepalese standart but still very cheap compared to restaurants in the west. They offer really fair prices. Please go there, its worth it.

Quaint and cozy with a bit of traffic noise. Ambience and set up is very visible. Coffee and food selection with Vegan option is great.

The food was actually good, the burgers and egg benedict were juicy and so were the brownies.The chhesecake and beef steak was a little disappointing though. But if you are looking to explore this place, worth a try.

I was so happy to be able to taste delicious vegan food during my stay in Kathmandu! Very tasty and well presented food. Soya and Almond milk alternatives for coffees and shakes, amazing vegan brownie, cookies and cakes. 💕 I definitely recommend it!

An excellent eatery with great coffee and food. The Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and the Chocolate truffle were lip smackingly good. The interior is a welcome escape from the bustling streets of thamel and has a warm, welcoming and laid back ambiance.

A bit pricey but good experience over all. Definitely try the chicken sandwich served in bucket of bread here.

One of the coziest and best places in the whole of KTM for the best cake and vegan dishes. Its just sooo good to have such good continental dishes at such n affordable pricing. Try everything here.

Simply amazing. Was coming every day (sometimes twice) for great food, great coffee and great service. Separated vegan menu, lots of choices and all food was super tasty and fresh. Loved the veggie wrap as well as the brownie. Veggie momos were seriously the best Ive tried (and 140Rs only). Awesome plant based milk coffee (on picture Americano and soy cappuccino and they have apparently decaf, too)! I am gonna miss this place. ❤ (only little minus are the smelly toilets outside)

Second was more like a latte...- croissant was untasty, seemed like it was not baked in the oven, it looked like a croissant But was it defenitaly not!- Expensive; they charge 10% service, While the prices are already more expensive comparing to similar tourist places.

Best vegan momo in Thamel which comes with a slaw thats fresh and full of flavour! These momos are unbeatable in taste and price, just 140npr for 10 of them. Food was oily and greasy and frankly quite tasteless. Bakery products were below average for the expensive price. Any French person going here would be offended by the taste and poor quality of food.Please prepare the food in the manner that you would for yourself.How hard is it to prepare tasteful food?

The food was fresh and was beautifully presented. And a great value for price. This place is usually busy in the morning so we had to wait for sometime to get us a table. But absolutely worth the wait ! Staggering Sandwich was absolutely delicious! Its not on their menu but they can make it on your request.

Overpriced, food tastes bland, cheap ingridients, poorly executed style and preparation of the food. The food is nothing what you would expect if you know what your food should look and taste like. Risotto is not ever risotto, its cooked rice with cheese on top. Hilarious.

Undoubtedly one of the best food place in Kathmandu,been a regular for over 2 years now! I don’t even have to look at the menu whenever I enter thus place 😂. As soon as I enter it’s more like a competition who waves first,them or me. Pretty much my third home hahahaha. I can go on and on about their menu all day long. The Chicken Confit,French Bakery Club Sandwich 🥪,Vegan Shake,Chocolate Truffle, Potato Wedges with and without Bacon, The Staggering Sandwich,The Veg Lasagna,The Primavera.... in short just everything! A very happy place for the vegans too. The cookies,cakes here are of the highest quality and Buddha Daai(The owner is always greeting you with a smile). This place is addictive so enter at your ownnnnnn risk 😂

The deserts arent that yummy.But the other food in the menu for example wraps and sandwhiches are worth trying.Parking for two wheelers only.The prices are nor high neither low.

Cute place with very tasty well prepared food.. we had both the veggie and nonveg eggs Benedict. fab. It is a bit crowded and difficult to keep distance between tables. Look forward to visiting again.

Had a really great breakfast here, so much so we had to go back again to try dinner!Portion sizes were large and the food and coffee were of a great standard. Great for western visitors that miss brown bread, bacon and vegemite!

I came to grab a pastry and then I noticed they had a tv so I was able to watch the FIFA World cup. Then I looked at their menu and they had nice food too. I ordered chicken penne arabiata and it was wonderful. It came with fresh garlic bread. I also ordered a hazelnut blended cappuccino with icecream, delicious. Then as a bonus the owner was giving away free sliders. Ill be sure to return here, the staff were friendly and helpful and I reccommend it to anyone wanting some great food, at a decent price in a nice atmosphere 👌

Get high, go, and order the staggering sandwich. You wont regret.Everything else is nice about this setting. It would have been awesome if the cafe was a bit more spacious.The American craft beer they offered was potent, while bing pretty expensive.

I went there with my wife, well best part is they have their Parking place where we can easily park our bike or car, as lots of my friends say they have nice food so we decided try pizza which was just ok only 😑But here coffee is amazing, I like the service and this place is very clean too.

Exceptional service. I came in to have espresso, was allowed to check the beans. Owner of the store made a doppio that had waaay too much liquid. It didnt taste like espresso. He asked how I liked it and I told him the truth. When I asked him why it was the way it was, he explained that typically, tourists complain about getting too little to drink when he makes it properly. He then insisted to pull a proper shot and satisfy my desire for real espresso. It was really good. Tart, smooth, not bitter. A really nice guy who cares about his customers satisfaction. Real coffee in Nepal is very, very difficult to find. Espresso even less so. Recommended.

Nice place, Tasty food

Delicious high quality modern European/Australian cafe cuisine. A great little getaway from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Aussies in particular will love this place as you can get Vegemite amongst many other Australian delicacies. They will supply you with the jar of Vegemite so you can apply just the right amount to your toast. Buddha and his team are very friendly and helpful. We visited about 15 times in 10 days! Cant wait to come back.

Amazing staggering sandwich

Its really hard to find good vegan food in Kathmandu but French bakery has all good options. It had been a long time since I had a good pasta even before I became a vegan. Thankfully, I got to have a delicious vegan pasta here at the French bakery. There are also really good vegan baked goods and cakes. Even the non-vegans would like them. :)

Pastries r amazing.

Their service was great. Food was great, but I dont know if what they say is vegan is really vegan. My husband asked for a regular croissant and they pulled the vegan one. He went back to say not the vegan one and they said it was regular. I also got sick from the food, but dont really know if it was a non vegan ingredients or something else in the food. I would go as my husband didnt get sick, but order with caution and confirm the vegan ingredients.

Decent place with friendly service. Good coffee drinks, food fresh overall. Bit pricey. The central irony: bread & pastries are this weak point of this “bakery.”

Despite of having small ambience they managed to make it enjoyable for guests. Had tried their special staggering chicken sandwich which looked so cool. But taste wise i would say was so dry. Chicken pieces were provided in good quantity though and the presentation was also superb.

Great food and cosy atmosphere. Came here several times for breakfast. Just finished eating one of their amazing cakes in the departure Lounge of the airport.

If you havent been here you should definitely go. We went for dinner and the food is absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced for the quality. The baked goods are also fantastic. We said we wouldnt go to any restaurants twice while in Nepal, but we will definitely be returning here.

Ask for the special menu for vegans and gluten free options. Highly recommended! Will definitely come again.

Best Caesar Salad(with real Parmesan AND Anchovies!) and the best pizza Ive had here, and they dont even consider that one of their specialties. Great-really- service and very reasonable prices.

This place has got endless options - gluten free, vegan, international products! Wonderful owner who really cares about good service. My friend had to make a phone call outside and the owner was so kind and made her a fresh, hot cappuccino when she came back in. I had a soy cappuccino that was perfect and also the eggs Florentine. Everything was so fresh and enjoyable! Hope to visit again soon.

I love the quality of food they server. Was thrilled and amazed with the sandwich they serve with all these side dishes. I wasnt expecting that at all. If you are more into burger and sandwich this is the must be place in thamel area. I loved the place and they sever so big club sandwiches, its hard for you to finish on your own.

Sometime in life one wonders how do I eat this. As marvelous and delicious the Staggering sandwich looked, should have come with a how to eat manual. A very small, cozy and a busy place indeed. On any given day, youll love the place and food there. But just couldnt find much of French cuisine on the menu though.
