This kurmaghad island is very beautiful. You just cant describe it in words. Every year jaatra festival is conducted here. Thousands of people attend this jaatra festival. You get plenty of boats to reach this island during jaatra festival. But be careful while getting out of the boat in the island. A very nice island.

Kurumgad island get its name from the fact that it looks like a Kuruma (tortoise) from a distance. The island is owned by an individual and has a beautiful resort, The Great Outdoors nestled on it. After disembarking from the boat, it was nice little climb to reach the top of the island. The vistas were stunning as I went higher and with the mainland at a far distance, the island seemed totally isolated with just the blue waters all around. The island has a beach and a Narasihma temple apart from the resort. The resort offers tented huts, childrens play area and numerous hammocks to slip away into a dream. The sunset view from the dining area is a stunner as it has a panoramic view of the Arabian sea with the other islands in the distance.

It’s a island. This island has famous temple called Narasimha temple. All fisherman will come for pray because they have belief that this god will give protection when they go for fishing. This temple very old temple. Here the fest will happen once in a year. Lots of people come here to get gods ashirvad. Most of people are karwar, Goa, Ankola. How to reach here: bus available from karwar to kodibaga or Karwar to bhaitkul. From Kodibaga or bhaitkul ferry/ boat/ Yamaha boat/ small boat available there. But not proper landings made for boat. We need to jump into the water ( knees level ).
