Some of these structures have become the hallmark of the city. The minaret at Chawdi Chowk in the main market is an intimate affair of the city.Historians have succeeded in bringing to light the reality of this structure from the Arabic inscriptions in the manor. The tower was built by Ibrahim Khan between 1557 and 1580 during the reign of Sultan Adil Shah I of Bijapur. It is mentioned that the wrestler Aliban Mahmand Isfahani actually did the work of the mosque.According to historians, before 1573, it was decided to build a stone square on the ramparts of the mosque and build tall towers on it.
