Since I am in IIT kanpur from my ug days and now carrying out PhD, I have been to almost all the boys hostel of IIT Kanpur.What I felt that this is the most beautiful 😍, spacious and well planned among all the hostels. Rooms are well ventilated with 2 windows and 1 fixed glass pane which doesnt open but makes the room quite sunny 🌞. Since I choose my room in East Side of A block - I see sunrise 🌅 every morning from my room itself and with lots of tress just outside the window make me feel so close to nature. There is separate space for table and racks near to study table apart from the cupboard in the room.A big lovely courtyard is there in every wing which gives me feeling of home.It doesnt feel like hostel to me.

Extremely poor space management and acoustics. The architecture of the rooms doesnt make sense at all. Lot of space wasted because of its weird shape. Couldve made great rectangular rooms. Room are small and weirdly shaped. Impossible to move freely inside the rooms. Poor sound insulation also. Mess food is really good, hence the three stars. 0 stars for the rooms.

Hall-7 mess is the best mess than other indian institutes mess.

A good hostel for PG students with nice mess facilities. But rooms are smaller compared to other halls at IITK. Guest rooms available here for outside guests at nominal rates which have separate entry and furnished. Normal rooms can also be booked only for male at a very cheap price.

I have stayed here for 7 years and 4 months, in a same room B-103.Very sweet memories both good and little bad.Here are the pros:Awesome food, best mess in IIT Kanpur, anyone whats to know about food at IITK, you better come here.Here are the cons:Rooms are very small, not enough space to do any useful activity.Even if we talk load it will disturbing other who stay in adjacent rooms.

Best hall in IITK

It is reserved for M.Tech and PhD students only. It is one of most confusing layouts but one of best canteens and mess of all hostels in IITK. Academic area falls a little far from it but most other facilities are fairly close to it. There are ATMs just outside the hostels and an ICICI vestibule. Playgrounds are also close by.

Best hall mess in IITK

Most preferred residential complex within IIT Kanpur. The entrance is very artistically designed. The students mess here keeps its reputation of quality meals. The canteen is also above average. The open space adjacent to the canteen in this Hall makes it special for all Adds enthusiasts.

Small rooms 😢

Its great.... Rooms are in 2 shapes... Even block rooms are smaller... Bt food and hall management is super 🤘

This hotel is for boys only. The hostel have a seperate mess and canteen. The food quality and taste of Hall 7 is best than the other hostels at IIT, Kanpur.Thanks you!!

Fantastic place..

Lived here on more occasions than my own hall 11.

The rooms are little small. Though the spaces are well manageable. Canteen is good. The mess facilities are also very good.

Place is good. It looks good but rooms pretty small. It has a Canteen, Gym, reading room, computer room, music room and pool room :-)

Good mess service with healthy and delicious diet. Mess menu keeps updating on regular intervals. Canteen facility is just average sometimes it turns poor. Rooms are little bit congested.Hall have its own photocopy/printing shop, barber shop, reading room, gym, music room, and guest rooms.

Best ever hostel I have seen ever.

Spent some of my most wonderful years of life there. Mess food was best in IITK during my stay there.

Stayed here during a visit to IIT-K, mess food is the best among all the dining options. Regular room cleaning is done and is equipped with excellent internet infrastructure.

Looks good from outside but believe me it seems like mohalla .Doesnt give a feel of hostel like any other hall

Absolutely cutoff and far away from nearest market(nearly 5 km). Isolates u from the rest.

The rooms are very small and have odd design but the mess is one of the best hostel mess in IITK and makes up far more than the other shortcomings.

Hall of residence 7 of IIT Kanpur is an architectural marvel...complete white color palace like building has 10 blocks (A to J) for student accommodation....all the rooms are single bed room...This is the best boys hostel in IIT campus.....Barbar shop, xerox shop and a general stationary shop are inside the Hostel premise....TV room, gymnasium, computer room, magazine room, music room and table tennis room are there for students...Bad Minton court, Ultra modern Volley ball court added new dimensions....Major attraction is hostel mess...Mainly famous in the campus for delicious menu and nice sitting arrangement....Canteen is also good and located at the centre of the hostel premise.

Hall Seven! Flanked with lush green meadows with various seasonal blossoms and a central fountain, this hostel is just more than a just a hostel! We have the students who hail from different parts of the country pursuing their masters and PhD in this institute. It was inaugurated in July 2002 by the then Dean of Students Affairs Prof. I. D. Dhariyal with its partial capacity. It came into its full strength from March 2003 with a capacity of about 450 single occupant rooms distributed in 10 blocks. It is fully managed by the students with some of them elected by the inmates representing and executing different activities of the hostel. Quite poor condition .... i got bit by insects several times during my 11 days stay there and response of staff there was quite casual about it .
