Horrible taste..... street food might taste better.....Had visited the place after a lot of positive reviews....but found the place lacking in many a things....A fly kept on troubling throughout...The waiter was inexperienced in serving food...The food itself left a bad taste in the mouth...Definitely wouldnt recommend it...

Ordered mushroom noodles and kimchi ..Noodles were for rs.250 and kimchi 100 ..Taste wise average even though we were hungry.Portion size was sufficient for two people.Kimchi was below average .. Not fermented at all and sugar crystals were making there presence.Shezwan sauce was also below average.Dining was also not cool.Asked for extra veggies in noodles , but being served what they serves without bothering the instructions.Only thr front apperance of dining is appalling.Summary: I would definately avoid visiting in near future.

Kanpur rarely have dedicated Chinese food space with perfect sitting dinein ambience. The amazing thing is that they serve hand made noodles which is being done completely in-house. One of the oldest & the best. Theres an old saying, Old is Gold & it holds true in this case. Although there are many new Chinese restaurants which may offer better ambience & aplomb but authentic, pure presentations are just mouth watering. Definitely deserves all kudos for keeping the name alive, as far as I know, for more than 45 years. There is really something great cookin here long enough to have survived that long; the Gold has kept its shine.

A decent restaurant with cozy interiors. It was once the best restaurant to serve chinese cuisine in the city but now the food is just average. Staff is fine, the service is a bit slow and moreover they can sometimes serve you burnt food or the plates might not be washed properly which is highly disappointing. So I would suggest you to be careful when you dine here. The rates are fine and the quantity they serve in that price is good.

The food was good and tasty. But a little overpriced. The ambience was good and soothing music is appreciable. The hospitality was bit disappointing. The quantity and quality of food is good for 2 people.

We used to visit this restaurant when I was studying @IIT in the early 70s. It was always a treat and of course Chinese was still considered exotic in those times. Very happy memories

I am regular visitors of Chung Fa since my childhood, i. e. over 63 years.Food quality has not only drastically charged but the ambience also changed.As far Kanpur is concerned,the only Chinese delicacy years backI have enjoyed only in Chung Fa.

This place is situated at a good location (visible while driving itself). We tried two types of soups there(chicken munchow and hot& sour). Both of them were okay. We moved to starters (drums of heaven basically chicken lollypop and some crispy lamp). Chicken lollypop was pathetic and crispy lamp was 4 out of 10. We went on trying our luck and ordered chicken mixed fried rice. Quantity was more than enough for two people after having soup and starter. Quality was not good. My conclusion is its not worth even trying at least in kanpur.

There was hair in talumein soup.Then again hair in Hakka noodlesChilli chicken and Hakka noodles was very oily.The staff is very courteous but the food..... Nothing to make us visit again.

Taste not as befour

Went there on 14th Sept 2017.Food was very bad. Neither American Chopsuey nor noodles were up to par. Let alone eating. Another starter including a potato dish was way horrible with just potato lachhas in loads of oil. Too much negativity for health. When manager was called twice was to say the food wasnt satisfactory, he sent the waiter and didnt even bother.We have been old regulars to this place and have loved the food there but post current treatment of not being attended even though we were the only four they had at the moment. Their unwillingness to own up, or even bother to listen and bad food, all suggest, stop visiting this place. There are better places for value of your hard earned money.

Visited Chung Fa for lunch today. A disappointing meal, if ever. The only redeeming feature was the steamed momo dish. The restaurant’s idea of chicken garlic noodles is to cover the top of the dish with bland, shredded boiled chicken. The same modus operandi is followed with the fried rice. The less spoken about the Main dish, the better. Shredded lamb in hot garlic sauce translates as Unidentifiable tiny bits of meat or whatever in a sauce. We just picked at the dish fearfully because it was simply unlike any lamb dish at any Chinese restaurant anywhere in the country! A home cooked Chinese meal would have been rated a hundred times better! Dismal food. A very bad experience.
