Ginza Rest, located on Ampitiya-Kandy main road, is easily accessible from the historic city of Kandy. It is a family-owned guest house so that you will feel that you are staying at your own house. At your request, any kind of Sri Lankan food and drinks are hygienically prepared and served. The management is very friendly and hospitable. Most of all, the room charges are fair. Given all what is stated above, I would recommend this gust house is an ideal place for a family or a group to spend their holidays.
Good palce for money. If you are going with aged adults dont forget to ask for ground floor rooms. If you need ac you have to ask for it. Morning tea was good and tasty.
Good place for rest. reasonable price for rooms.
This guesthouse is more like a homestay. The family that run it are wonderful and kind. They also invited me to share family food one evening and offered tea/coffee for no fee. Yes, the guesthouse is a business, but they also care about connection and are generous people. My room was huge with fan, a comfortable bed, and hot water. Some rooms have AC available, but I didnt feel it was necessary. A towel and toilet paper were provided.Dont expect a social traveler vibe here- and that was good for me!Expect great value and a good location. It is on Ampitiya road. Each day I walked down the the town- the road is a little narrow and there is some construction as of March 2019. To head back, you can catch a bus to Ampitiya for 15 rupees. If you stop at the post office, youll just backtrack about two minutes to reach Ginza.Breakfast might seem expensive but it was worth it considering everything else. Fruit, coffee or tea, roti, daal and coconut sambol, an omlette...
Frendly management in their
One of the best homestay we have ever been to. The Host and her son are very helpfull and they cook soo good. If you want to stay in Kany, I recomend you this place
Kandy can be an overwhelmingly busy place. Ginzas Rest is a gem in this quirling city. It is located in a more quiet part of the town, yet easy and fast to reach. We mostly walked to the centre and back. Tuk Tuk drivers of course would tell its far, but only to promote their own places ...The place is spacious and very tidy. Its quiet at night, no mosquitos and it had one of the best bathrooms on our trip ; )Ginza and her Son treated us like we were part of her family, the Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and the place even has a doctor in-house.For us it was a perfect place to repair, relax and regain energy after a lot of travelling trough different places.I can only highly recommend this place.

Great, large and clean rooms for ridiculous money (1500 rupees) per night. There is no air conditioner but it is not really needed there.Of the minuses, they are lazy to cook food for a fee.
