Ideal for monsoon and winter trips. Very nice location..highest motorable spot on the hills overlooking the Uksan Lake.The slope has enabled a nice two level construction of the house, and a loft at each level enables you to get the best view of the lake.Overall..... nice place !

A hidden gem perched up in the hills, this bungalow #Sondela in Kamshet overlooks the Vadavali Lake.Words are not enough to describe the tranquility you feel sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake at anytime of the day, either with a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening overlooking the sunset across on the lake with the mountains in he background.Its a spacious 2 bedroom room bungalow and can accommodate upto 15 persons . We were a group of 8 school friends and spent a wonderful weekend at the place.A caretaker is there to cater to your needs should you require her to fetch the essentials before hand and maybe make some snacks on payment of the same. We had carried our food which we could reheat in the fully equipped kitchen. Highland Resorts a stone away also supplies food if you want. There is greenery all around and we did a little trekking in the afternoon and stumbled on various birds and fauna along the way.Waiting to go back again !

Good place to enjoy

Nice place to stay for weekend. People can enjoy beautiful sunset from balcony. Location of the bunglow is too good in front of uksan lake n dam. Experience there a barbeque in the evening. Good for get-together.

Amazing location. Bang opposite the lake. Needs little more maintenance and in-house service.

As can be seen from the photo a vast lake in view surrounded by lush greenery post monsoon and Sahyadri hills in background made a spectacular sight.

Not highly motorable road for a 50seater bus but yes it is a beautiful place indeed. Sharing some pics of the place. Do go through them. Highly preferable during the monsoon season and it may be risky during flood like situation.

One of the place with a great potential of a great weekend due to absolutely good location, nice property but the maintenance is the biggest problem. A house owned by a Parsi family with almost all necessities, except a good caretakers. Food made by them was not upto the mark. We had made a deal for 3starter in evening but we were served only 2. We had to remind them to clean the dining area every time we had meal. Bedsheets and cushions had a typical stink to it. We even saw a skeleton of dead lizard on one side of sofa. Caretakers were super slow and not at all proactive.There was no electricity for more than 10hrs we stayed there. We paid 7500 for a Saturday night for 6ppl and 6k to caretakers for food in all 13k wasted with a weekend. I just hope the owners read this and take some action for it, as the place has great potential.

ITS A VERY NATURE FRIENDLY GREEN AND PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT AWAY FROM PUNE AND MUMBAI. MUST TRY FOR ALL OUTDOOR STAY AND PARTY LOVERS.

Beautiful bunglow on a hill, over looking the lake.

Perched on a hillside overlooking the Uksan Lake in Kamshet is Sondela. A quiet retreat that affords spectacular views and an ideal break from the busy life. Sit back, and take in the sights with a book or make a dash to take a dip in the lake below or crank up the adrenaline with a trek further up the hill, pace it to your liking. Kamshet is home to one of the few para gliding sites in the state, check it out if that’s your thing. Whatever you do, the serenity of the place, will be welcome. The two bedroom villa (with many spare beds), with a fully functional kitchen is perfect for family and friends, to reconnect and revitalise.

Great place for an overnight stay. The view at sunrise is just amazing. The bungalow is well maintained but expect power outages & voltage fluctuations. (But this is common in such remote places, which are so isolated & hence amazing). Also heavy winds & rainwater in the main hall in monsoons. This was just unbelievable & we enjoyed every bit of it. :P :DThe care takers did not help us much except for setting up the barbecue late night. The husband (caretaker) was totally unwilling to do anything.------ Important Note -------01. Travel only in day-time. AVOID night travel. (we reached kamshet around 11:30pm & reached sondela around 1am. Travel got really messed up).02. This LOCATION in the google map IS WRONG. It is near Uksan Lake. Somewhere in the vicinity of PurrOm healing center Kamshet.------- Actual Location -------(These landmarks/spots mentioned in quotes, you will find on Google Maps)- Whether coming from Mumbai/Pune, Search for & reach Kamshet Hospital in Kamshet on Old Mumbai-Pune Highway- From there, head towards Uksan Lake. Search Nirvana Paragliding Kamshet on maps.- While heading towards Uksan lake towards this location, you will come across, a kaccha road on the right hand side, with 2-pillars as gate. (refer my uploaded images - Check the image with 2 cars)- From this gate proceed towards the bungalow, which is another 5-10 mins drive. (It will be still confusing.)Again, its much better to ask the care-taker to pick you up near kamshet hospital itself. (& hope he helps).5 stars for the stay-1 star for the care-takers attitude & electricity problem.
