This is a powerful devi temple that is located amongst the nature where the mother is known by the name Sri Kabbalamma Devi. People from nearby and far flung places visit this temple to find peace and get freedom from troubles they are suffering from due to the divine grace of the devi. There are two ways you can visit this temple1- From Kanakapura Main Road - Travel past Kanakapura bus stop straight till you reach the junction and there you take a turn towards the Kabbalamma Temple2- From Mysore Road - Travel till Channapatna and at Satanur Circle take a left turn and from there you can reach the temple - this is little longer. Total kms - 240 via Mysore Road.
This is a local goddess temple which is quite famous. When it comes to all these godly believes, its left to each individual to perceive it the way they want. Albeit, it has turned out to be a business in the name of god, its a good place to visit as far as its pleasant within.

About 80 kms from Bangalore, stands Kabbaladurga, a rocky, monolithic hillock. This trekking destination overlooks the sleepy village of Kabala. Trekking in Kabbaladurga is special not only for its proximity to Mysore and Bangalore but also for the two contrasting trekking routes on the hillock. The trek routes commence from Kabbala village. The easier route to the peak is ideal for families, new trekkers and those enthusiastic about climbing hills. The tougher route challenges physical fitness and mental strength. The first route is a moderately strenuous trek while the second route involves more climbing than trekking. Kabbaladurga looks deceptively easy from the base. It stands isolated in the landscape. The true trekking challenge of Kabbaladurga is evident in the tougher route. It is highly recommended to carry a light backpack and keep only essential items. The trek begins from the base of the hill, about 1.5 kms from Kabbalu village. This route splits from the popular route after a short uphill stretch. There are several difficult routes to climb Kabbaladurga. One has to slide down carefully in a few stretches. It is a relief to return to base. The monsoon makes the rocks slippery and the risks of accidents and injury is very high. Post monsoon, Kabbaladurga is cooler and greener. This enhances the trekking experience without reducing the rocky challenge. Kabbbaladurga is a short gruelling half-day’s trek but truly memorable for the triumph over body and spirit. Every trekker returns from Kabbaladurga with a different experience but an undoubtedly huge bundle of indelible memories.
COVID Safety measures taken.People if you plan for Kabbalamma Temple Please Wear Mask and follow precautions.
A famous temple, 19 km drive after Kanakapura town, near Satanur village. Nice temple with a beautiful view of the surroundings, especially the Kabbala Durga, a towering hill with a small temple on top of the hill.A nice trekking spot, but to be careful, not for elderly people or a small kids..The approach road from Satanur at Kanakapura road side is very neat and comfortable. Also theres a good connectivity from Mysore road, Channapatna from the other sideTuesdays, Fridays and Sundays will be crowded and other days are normal to visit.
