Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is an ancient temple in Anantapur district.Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple LegendsLord Maha Vishnu took the form of Narasimha Swamy to kill the Hiranya Kasyapa. Even after killing the demon, he started roaming around forests and hills with anger. At Sthothadhri hill which is near to Kadiri Town, Devas along with Prahaladha prayed to calm down Narasimha Swamy. Narasimha Swamy pleased with the prayers and withdraw the anger at this place. Hence Narasimha Swamy Temple here is called as Prahalada Sametha Narasimha Swamy Temple.‘Ka’ means Vishnu Padam (Footprint), ‘Aadri’ means Hill so the place got the name as ‘Kadri’ later turned into ‘Kadiri’. Belief is that Narasimha Swamy stayed at the roots of Chanda Vruksha (Kadiri Vruksham or Canary Tree or Indian Mulberry – Tree) for a very long time.Interesting fact associated with this temple is, Sweat comes out of the Idol after Abhishekam.Vasantha Vallabha Utasva murthi (processional deities) which are there in the temple, were recovered from Brughu Theertham ( water tank), as instructed by the Lord in the dream. These Idols were installed during Vasantha Ruthuvu so this utsava murthi (processional deities) were called by Vasantha Vallabhulu. It is believed that these idols were presented by Lord Narasimha Swamy to Bhrugu Maharshi (Sage) to perform Archana. The legend of Kadiri is mentioned in BRAHMANDA PURANA. It is also said that Veda Vyasa established gurukul in this region to stay away from the demons attack.Arjuna did penance here on the banks of Maddileru ( Arjuna river), and this river connects holy tanks, Swetha Pushkarini, Brughu Theertham, Sesha Theertham, Kunthi Theertham, Lakshmi Theertham, Ganga Theertham, Garuda Theertham, Bhavanasini Theertham along its path
A great ancient temple. Many people come here from 2 states. Needs more maintenance Parking space is big problem here. Its better to park atleast 500 mts from the temple and walk. Temple premises contains bathroom and changing rooms. Theres also Annadana seva. There are also rooms provided to stay overnight.
ஆங்கிலத்தில் எழுதுவதற்கு மன்னிக்கவும்.After having our evening tea, we took an auto and reached the temple. Took an auto because, definitely the temple is in a very crowded, cramped space, so definitely there is no parking here. So if you bringing your car, you are taking a lot of risk.We got down from the auto, and bought flowers, strangely the no of shops selling flowers was just one. The temple does have a place earmarked for leaving your footwear in safe custody, just outside the eastern gopuram.Observed that there were 2 stone mast (probably used in olden days for lighting lamps) and small entrance arch, and a small mandap outside the temple premises. Personally i felt, lot of encroachments has happened that is why all the temple related structures are found in such cramped condition.Entered the temple via the eastern gopuram.Temple faces East, Lord Narasimha faces east, Thaayar in a separate sannidhi and faces east. Kodimaram present. Rajagopurams present in all four directions. It was a Monday, hence there was little rush and we went in before the sanctum sanctorum opened. we stood in the dharma darshan line. We waited may be less than 30 mins, and we had a wonderful darshan of the Lord.We felt very happy, because the priest, accepted the flowers we gave, and offered it to the Lord. He also showed us arathi, and gave us special prasadams. Felt so so happy, because, we were planning to visit this for quiet some time, and now not only we had a wonderful darshan, we got some prasadams also in return. wow. Had a good darshan of thayaar also.Strange, normally in narasimha temple the lord will have the thaayar in his left side lap, but here he sits alone, and thaayar in separate sannidhi. We went around the inner praharam 3 times to pay our respect and also to take pictures.Felt some what sad, because some of the beautiful pictures you see in google and the internet about this temple, is not to be seen, because the temple authorities have put permanent steel structures to support the metal roof all around the temple and that really kind of brought down or diminished the beauty of the temple.I agree, it is for the welfare of the devotees but still, very rare you see a temple with 4 rajagopurams and now their view is blocked by the metal roof, and steel pillars all over the place.Temple has room facilities for staying inside the temple complex, no idea how the system works, whether it is first come first serve, or it can be done online etc. They even have a bathing facility inside the temple for devotees who tonsure their heads, to take bath and then have the darshan of the Lord.We spent quiet some time in the temple, seeing the people moving around, taking in the beauty of the temple, etc.Wonderful temple, definitely worth a visit, do visit on weekdays, do not bring your car since no proper parking space.
One of the ancient Hindu temple! The temple has been developed very well recently. Have good road connectivity, paid parking. Will be blessed if you visit this temple once
Beautiful temple, expecting for good dharshan in next visit with my lovely frnds

Hi, this temple is good place to worship. To compare before now better in cleaning but still endowment have to think about cleaning and facilities for devotees.Thank you.
A great old devotional place with History. The need of the hour is pandic rules to be obeyed and maintenance of the place. It is a very sacred place and protected
The darshan of the Lord Sri Lakshmi narasimha was little bit felt difficult otherwise the place was good
Very think good only. But parking place not there very difficult to park in front of temple.
There was less crowd on weekdays. They have constructed huge sheds around temple to protect devotees from scorching sun.
Horrible surroundings of the temple premises, maintance of the temple and the area totally zero. I felt very very sad when I visited the temple last month.
This is historical temple. The architect of temple is very nice.It is one of the most historical temples in India. I suggest to get the darshan very soon take 100 rs ticket(30-40 minutes). If not u need to spend 3-4 hours in the queue. But I would like to take a moment explain y did I gave 3 rating. The temple maintenance is very bad. They dont care about piligrims, they only concern about money. I suggest some higher officials should look into this. Bcz the people working here ruining the history of the temple. They(Higher officials) should visit as common devotees and see the corruption. When I went there , I felt it was total about money
A sacred and spiritual arena for worship. One ought to visit this great temple
Good temple ....very famous for yearly once theru , kadhiri punnami festival.
Very nice and history related to Prahallada and Hiranyakashyapu Samhara
Nice temple to visit and you can get anna seva for free at afternoon
Ancient temple, Narasimha swami appeared as ashta bahu(with eight hands).
Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy 🙏
The maintenance is worst,,,no cleanliness, they wer showing partiality,,if they should allot particular timing for vip darshanam,,all the localities are entering in middle it creates hurdles for the people who wer in the que,,,Next thing is bathrooms these are the worst part we have faced,,and parking area is also worst they is no security and it is not clean I dont know who wer taking charge of maintenance please look after these issues,,though everyone comes there for worship but if u give preference to localities then y should u allow the people coming from outside please keep a board that outers are not allowed entry only for locals,,,,this is not fair,,disappointed completely,,,if u give money u can get anything,,I cant explain more than this,,in this covid situation also there is no social distancing no mask,,I request higher officials to check about this by entering into the temple as a common person,,,,So sorry to give this type of review and also think once everyone is equal infront of God...
Wrong timings available in Google, temple closes at 1PM..Drove 50 km n cudnt see the deity..
Very old temple, road from bangalore is much better now, premises are maintained well , temple rooms are easily available, ticket counter and prasadam counter is well planned there isnt much wait. There is new parking now at entrance. On auspicious days getting parking will be a bit issue. Abhisekam tickets are sold on first come first basis.
Very POWERFUL PLACE.... NICE TO SEE THIS TEMPLE COMPLEX....

Kadiri is my native place. When ever I went to kadiri for holidays I must go to Sri Khadri Lakshmi Narasimha swami temple.this is old great Historical temple. When you entered into the temple you can feel the great magical Devine feeling. And swamy roopam is like..... Our two eyes is not enough to see narasimha swamy. It has so many historical stories. In March every year 15 days utsava festivals will held in kadiri. Swamy will give darshan in so many great shining avataras during utsavas. Each avatara has a special appearance.Khadri Lakshmi Narasimha swamy govindooo... Govindaa.. 🙏🕌
At a distance of 1.5 km Kadiri Railway Station, 100 km from Anantapur, 113 km from Kadapa, 458 km from Hyderabad, 476 km from Vijayawada, and 174 km from Bangalore, Sri Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is located in Kadiri town in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha, a Man-lion form and is one of the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu.Lord Narasimha in this temple is swayambhu emerging from the roots of Khadri tree (Indian mulberry). The specialty of this temple is that after the daily Abhishekam is performed, the idol of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha oozes sweat continuously even after repeatedly wiping off sweat by the temple priests. The construction of this temple is said to have been commenced during the Western Chalukya rule but it was completed during the time of Vijayanagara rulers. The inscriptions in the temple relate mostly to the Vijayanagar period. One of them states that the temple was built by a Nayaka during the reign of Bukka I in 1332 AD. The raja gopuram was built by Harihararaya. The popular king of Vijayanagara Sri Krishna Devaraya and Maharashtra King Shivaji visited this famous temple and constructed sub temples and Mahishasuramardini Temple respectively.Annual chariot festival or Rathothsavam is conducted every year in this temple in grand manner. On this holy day a huge Chariot with Lord Lakshmi Narasimha presiding in it is pulled by hundreds of devotees on the streets. Lakhs of devotees attend this Rathothsavam to participate in the festival.

One of the Wonderful ancient temple in South india
Very very beautiful and peaceful place... very holy and divine place. Very much spacious.I would recommend this place to everyone.Do visit once. Youll not be disappointed. But one thing keep in mind...early morning and evening times itll be free and a bit crowdless...but other times itll be in a rush. The mens washroom is a disaster...try your best not to use it.
A very sacred temple, and one of the Nine ancient and great temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha Swamy (Nava-narasimha swamy temples). Though the temple is maintained okay, however one awkward part is that the bathrooms are built/maintained within the main temple premises, just beside the main temple. Dont know how the sacredness is maintained due to this, these could have been moved outside of main temple complex as well. Management should also take due care for the amenities for the pilgrims.
Place for where you can find your inner peace 🙏
Powerful God.... Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy alongwith Ammavaru Amuruthavalli are the presiding deities.Huge temple complex with stone ... constructed by Rajas shows the glorious history too.Famous in all States too. 4 towers on 4 sides and compound wall famous for its sculptures too. .
Great spiritual place at Kadiri. Temple is awesome. Basic amenities like drinking water, toilet, place to rest are awesome. There is lot of fans and power sockets to charge ur electronic gadgets. Basically it’s old temple.
We are blessed to see Lord Lakshmi Narasimha swamy temple in Kadiri Anantapur district.
Devotional plc
Very nice and wonderful experience. Nice and hygienic prasad
This is one of the temples you can visit on the way to Gandikota. It is neat and you have to wait in long queue to get in, there 30rs ticket and also 100rs ticket to make your wait timing less. We saw one of the biggest rope to pull the chariots here. Too good. There is place in temple area where you can sit and spend time. Theertha here was orange colour, we had never seen coloured one. Roads are too small to park the four wheelers.
Very Big and nice historic temple, very Powerful Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, All your wishes comes true …..........But very hot place in summer.
Well defined temple of the state .. very old temple having lot of peace
Very ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha. Temple complex is having sufficient rooms within the premises for the purpose of devotees to stay. For allotment of accommodation, one has to approach the temple office situated within the premises.Car parking is at nearby TTD Kalyana mantapam. Rs50/- is collected as parking fee for a Car.I suspect whether the fee is being collected legally or not?Because, the premises belong to TTD and the fee receipt is bearing another name not related to the TTD.

Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is located in the southeastern part of Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, India.Lord Narasimha at Kadiri is swayambhu emerging from the roots of Khadri tree. He appears here as Ashta Bahu Narasimha (having eight hands) tearing Hiranyakasipu. We can see Prahlada standing beside him with folded hands.Astonishingly, after the daily abhishekham is performed, the Murthy of the Lord oozes sweat even after being repeatedly wiped off by the Archakas here. The Lord Narasimha at Kadiri is believed by devotees to be self emanating (Svaymabhu) from the roots of “Khadri” tree. The main pole (Moolavirat) is that of AshtaBaahu Sri Nrusimha (having eight hands) cleaving Hiranyakasipu and transforming into a more protecting persona with Bhakta Prahlada standing beside him, with folded hands, paying obeisances. After the daily Abishekam is performed, the Archa-Vigraha (Deity of Narasimha) is claimed by the Archakas to be sweating, despite being repeatedly wiped off by the Archakas here
Lord lakshminarasimha swamyPraises
Power full place to visit in Anantapur district power full God my 3rd favorite god
Very poor maintenance and administration. Priests are money-oriented, well be very much disappointed.
Amazing
Everything is fine in all aspects..Entrance from Radham to stop all types of vehicles including two wheelers is must.think it and adopt it .Then pilgrims to go and come with their children, and luggage with bhakthi. At the same time they to do shopping is also becoming easy.simeltenouly the shops get more benefits
Very very sacred place. There are lots of temples around to visit.
Very pious place with suitable rate boarding and lodging facility

One of the must visit Hindu shrines in Andhra Pradesh. Temple management has improved tremendously in providing basic meds for pilgrims. Good toilets and rooms are available.
Worst Worst Worst Worst Worst Worst Worst management for Q sectionand after 1h 30mins waited in Q section and when i reached to infront of god they pushing to outside(within 1 second) even I dont see god.
👌
Very beautiful temple. From Bangalore its Jus 173kms drive. Temple opens at 5 am n closes by 9 pm. If you need to give for any Seva you need to plan at least 2 days trip. Usually most of the sevas are done early morning only. One thing the temple administrators should really give importance to the cleanliness within the temple Prangana. People carry food n eat there it self, sleep there only and temple rooms n bathroom are within temple Prangana it is really not clean. Otherwise the temple is really fantastic.
My favereat god tempal
Very nice temple, powerful god but temple is fully comertiolised.
One of the oldest temples in Rayalaseema region..Too crowded on Saturdays though..
Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, its a powerful God. Very old temple, visit & be blessed.
A divine place, must visit temple, the Lord Narsimha swamy having 8 hands in ugra mudra, bhaktha Prahalada standing nearby. Its 100 km from Anantpur and Kadapa, 40 kms from Puttapurati. One can reach this temple from Bangalore as well. This is also one of the nava Narsimha temples in Andhra Pradesh.
Please give some more importance to maintanance.
