I 100% enjoyed the tour led by Shambhuram last week. We started our tour at the clock tower. He was punctual! Then, my husband and I hopped on the jeep and started our journey. We were first introduced to block printing(it was okay, but not seem authentic to me) and pottery-making(it was great! the artisan was so skilled!) production by local artisans. The last stop, Shambhuram showed us to his family house where he practiced handweaving for us and showed us many beautiful handmade Dhurries. We had a great time with him and his family, his daughter was adorable!!! He mentioned the profit of the carpet selling goes directly to the artisans family. In my opinion, the price and the quality of the carpet were better than the market in the city center. Moreover, you can trust the material they used was pure.In the end of the tour, his wife made us a delicious lunch meal with handmade chapatti. We sat on the carpet placed in the kitchen, enjoyed the authenticity of village life with them.Highly recommended if you like to make a true connection with the local!

Today me and my wife did the Village Safari together with Shambhuram. He is a very nice and helpful guide. We felt really comfortable and there was no push to buy stuff at the places we visited. Actually we wanted to, because everything was so beautiful. We had a good vegetarian local lunch and were dropped back in the city like clockwork. Definitely a recommendation and easy to get in touch with via WhatsApp.

I highly recommend doing this village tour. You’ll have the opportunity to meet local handicraft artists, spot wildlife throughout the village and simply have a glimpse into village life. My friend and I were able to visit a potter’s home. He gave us a mini lesson and he gave us the opportunity to make a vase ourselves. The second family we got to meet were elders that performed an opium ceremony. It was a fascinating ceremony that is done during certain special occasions. The hosts showed us how properly wrap a turban and wear traditional clothing. Finally, we were able to learn about the dying of interlock weaving. We had the pleasure of seeing how it’s done. The wildlife that we encountered were peacocks, black bucks, birds and camels. The jeep ride was bonus!

Pukhraj was a fantastic host. He is from the village where the tour goes through. As a local he was able to give an incredible insight to daily Indian village life and give us access to areas the other tours dont. We experienced local arts and crafts, wildlife, and a fantastic meal at the end to top it off!

An execellent tour. The guide was very friendly, knowlegeable & engaging. We saw some Black Buck before touring round a number of places for block printing, pottery and carpet weaving demonstrations. It concluded with a tasty home cooked meal at the home & homestay of the guide. A fun day and good insight into Bishnoi life.

Did the half day Bishnoi village tour with Shambhuram followed by lunch at his place cooked by his wife.It was an amazing experience , apt for people who want to get a peek in the lives of the locals. A must do for people who want to see black bucks , antelopes, siberian cranes and peacocks grazing in the fields at close quarters if your lucky you will spot them Shambhuram took us around in his jeep , he has in depth understanding of the local landscape be it the trees or people or animals. Its an active tour you can interact with the locals while they go on with their daily lives. Its not set up where everyone is waiting for you to arrive. Shambhuram is well versed in english too so language is not a barrier. You can meet the Bishnoi and shepherd families. Try your hands at pottery and buy some local handicrafts. The lunch is basic indian local food prepared by their family and delicous too. All in all an awesome experience not to miss, must do if in JodhpurP.S. we were 2 women who did this trip and visited Shambhuram place for lunch as well. Safe and were well looked after

Desert Camel TourOur guide Shambhuram was very nice and a very confident driver which made the journey comfortable and efficient. They provided water bottles. Our teenage camel guides were tons of fun and took a lot of pride in their jobs. They were professional and very comfortable handling the camels. It was lovely to be invited into their home, meet the brothers, the baby goats that were just born, and have some traditional food and masala chai. They also took some great pictures for us. Would highly recommend!Show less

The guide showed up well before time.It began with a small safari in the Bishnoi area. We could see the black buck, peacock, deer and important vegetation for Rajasthan like Khejri and Sangri. Then we learnt about the art of block printing, saw how pottery have been done for ages, and the learnt about the art of carpet weaving. Finally we had some home made bajre ki roti and gatte ki sabji.Overall the trip was exactly what it is supposed to be. An sneak peak into the Rajasthani village life.

We had a great village tour with shambhuram. He was an excellent guide. Very informative , open to our thousands of questions both around the village we visited and life in rajasthan. We also visited fabric , carpet and pottery . They showed us how they made their products. But we were not pressured into buying anything. The best part was the wildlife viewing . We saw chinkaras , black bucks and a blue bull.I would recommended.

Best tour organisers in the Jodhpur region, Mr. Shamburam is helpful in nature and will do everything to make your tour enjoyable. If you happen to be in Jodhpur don’t miss it. It’s awesome experience for me. We saw different animals, visited local villagers experienced their lifestyle and their work. In addition to this the Prajapat family (tour operators) also run home stay which is also very fun filled and gives you Rajsthani village life experience.

The tour was really good, especially so with our two young kids. The day started with pickup in a Jeep at our hotel in Jodhpur. We drove about 30 minutes and were out in the farmland looking for wildlife. On our mini safari we saw several peacocks, 4 black bucks, and another large cow-like antelope. From the safari we moved on to the artisan visits. We tried our hand at turning pottery, saw block printing of fabric and finally weaving at Shambhuram’s family home. While at the home we watched his sister making lunch and dined in the family kitchen. In all it was a really nice day, definitely worth considering when you’re in Jodhpur.
