JODHPUR one of the favourite city without doubt🖤.Upon arrival in pukhraj garh resort we ( me and shivangi 💏) were warmly welcomed by🙏 OMPRAKASH PRAJAPAT.we started by visiting a local Bishnoi pottery house. We also did pottery class and made a vase which i carried all the way from Jodhpur to sriganganagar 😅.This tour was followed by safari where we saw the black buck, deer, peahen and nilgai.🦌🦚We then saw how block printing are done by using organic color prepared by eatable like haldi, spinach. The demonstration was explained step by step and as well as done by us too. He was so kind to give us tips and tricks to do at home D.I.Y.✌Visited opium ceremony which was held by TULSIRAM KAKA. He was very sweet, fun loving and still young hearted guy.😘Our journey ended with OMPRAKASH at his place( own house) where they also run durry weaving. There we were served flavoursome lunch cooked on mitti k chulha by LEELA having an authentic Rajasthani taste.Their family run resort is absolutely stunning with authentic huts⛺ with attached bathroom🛁 for stay and a pool 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️to chill in afternoon.Absolutely definitely i will be recommending your tour and i will also be taking another in future. Thankyou for a wonderful journey. I was so pleased with the trip. Our guide OMPRAKASH PRAJAPAT was outstanding, knowledgeable, friendly, safety conscious. Many many thanks again and i recommend bishnoi village tour and a stay at Pukhraj garh resort .

Excellent experience. We were lucky to get the owner Prajapat sir himself as the guide. He made sure we spotted many blackbucks in the Safari. He definitely knows the area.We also did pottery class and showed the loom to make carpets. The lunch at his home was simple but delicious.Would be happy to do this Safari again.

We contacted these guides via email and made arrangements for a half day tour, Shambhu collected us from the Clock Tower in Jodhpur at 8am and outlined the itinerary.....a village pottery making display, a bishnoi homestead visit with an opium ceremony and turban tying display, a co-operative run textile weaving village and finally a textiles and furniture warehouse with a short drive in the countryside to try and spot any wildlife if youre lucky too. Drop off back to starting point (or the palace for us as was our preference) This was at a cost of 1200 rupees each. Shambhu was very professional but friendly and knowledgeable and explained the ethical methods of tourism that his small company strive to use and preserve. He was happy to discuss Indian culture and politics with us when we asked and he seemed like a genuine and sincere personThe craftsmen that we met happily showed us their wares but did not push us for a sale at all, which we found quite refreshing for India. All the demonstrations were informative and the people were happy to chat and practice their English skills.I would highly recommend this tour over some of the other more pricey and less personal trips on offer. After the tour had ended to take Guide Shambhu offered us to his home for a lunch cooked by his wife and a lovely cup of chai , We accepted as we had got along so well with Shambhu and found his wife to be lovely and a very good cook too. We ate fresh home made breads, butters and curd, and tried some rare desert beans.Thank you Shambhu we had a lovely time.

I did the Bishnoi Village Safari with my family and we had a wonderful time. We started by visiting a local Bishnoi house and farm. This was followed by a safari where we saw the Blackbuck, Deers, Gazelles and the Nilgai or Blue Bull. For birdwatchers there are a number of birds in the area.We then saw how hand block printing and clay pottery was done. We finished with delicious home made local cuisine. The speciality being flattened by hand pearl millet Indian bread. This is a family run a Boutique homestay where they also run this tour. We were accompanied by Shambhuram who is part of the family, he was lovely and was every willing to show and explain. We also met the rest of the family who contribute in various aspects of running the show. The family since generations have been durrie weavers which can be purchased.I do recommend doing this tour as it is a nice way of seeing the countryside along with nature. Shambhuram and his family are lovely hosts who make you feel very comfortable and at home.

During our stay in Jodhpur, we were able to go on a Bishnoi Village safari with Shambhuram, which took us outside of the city to catch a glimpse of life in the country. We booked a safari trip with Bishnoi Village Safari and it was fantastic! Our guide picked us up at our homestay (Dev Kothi) near the clock tower. He patiently waited for us as we were running a tad late. He then took us to see some wildlife including deer, peacocks and a black buck antelope.Next, he took us to see an opium ceremonial demonstration. The man was also kind enough to show us how to wrap a turban and even put it on my husband! Then we went to the weaver’s house where we were shown how they make the famous dury rugs. The village people and those in the surrounding community spend a month or more making the famous rugs as a source of income in the desert. The people of Jodhpur rely on their handicraft skills as farming in the desert is limited. They are absolutely gorgeous and made from all natural camel hair, cotton, and vegetable dyes. Shambhu, the weaver, gave us a great explanation of the process and demonstrated how it is done.At the weaver’s house, we were treated to authentic lunch and given a tour of the wood burning kitchen. We shared some laughs and really felt at home! Finally before headed home, we stopped by the Potter’s house where we actually could try our hands at creating pottery ourselves! Our work was pretty sad compared to the skillful hands of the pottery maker. We’ll just leave that to the professionals in the future. We had an absolute fantastic time on this safari and highly recommend it. We felt at home on the trip and complete comfort with Shambhuram. They welcomed us into their homes, showed us the beauty of the country and gave us a peek into their crafts. A trip well worth it
