I came here with a friend from work and they had decent drinks. You pay for the arcades with tokens, and its easiest if you bring cash, better yet, singles, but the bar can give change. It was a Tuesday night but it was packed. I think I was the only woman in there. I wish this place had some kind of drink holders near the games. All in all, had a fun time.

Nice vintage games.... All games from 1990-2000....I think this is only of this kind in Jersey city

If I can give zero stars. They served a beer in a used coin cup during Covid (thankfully another bartender stopped us after we already drank some and paid). They then measured basically what was drank (out of the dirty coin cup to the ounce). Their customer service is garbage. Their management is terrible and didn’t care at all to rectify the situation. Never going again.Oh and all of their games are pretty much broken.

Great place to eat a burger, drink beer and play old school video games. The game tokens are cheap so you can end up playing a lot!

I made this my regular bar even though its a 45 minute walk for me. Its that good. The staff are lovely and the locals have become my very good friends. Chill and the prices are responsible. For bar food its really good too. Highly recommend

Games were all working. Fun date spot. Drinks were good I had the Twilight Zone which was purple with a vodka base. The lemon basil pita was actually a great snack and when we ended with more hummus than pita they brought us some more! Yum. Fun place always an enjoyable time.

Service is great and so are the games. Only problem is the token system they have in place. I can understand why they have it in place, as it guarantees funds put into games guarantee service/repairs towards them. However, the trouble with them is the coin mechs. Not often does this happen, but sometimes the tokens will go through and not register with the board or not come out through the coin return. Basically, eating your token. That aside, all the games are great playable condition. The food was excellent. The beer selection is outstanding. My bartender (Trish) was fantastic and quick to serve. Highly recommend this place for arcade and beer enthusiasts alike.

Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a chill vibe to have a couple of drinks with friends.The games are first come first serve, so be sure to get your coins ready to go!

Kind of pricy for Jersey. Real fun and real old arcade games. Bad for big groups since theres only a single 3+ player game. Good drinks really recommend them.

As the name suggest. The place is best for its arcade games specially there pinball machines. Other than that the food is okay. I mean what do you expect in a bar.

I like to just hanging out and playing the old games Its a nice atmosphere nothing to worry about pleasant nice stop in Theres other amenities and sites close by.. staff was cool I did not drink or eat so no comments as to that but I might stop in again as a Kool early evening change from the norm.

PROS: This place was as cool as I expected it to be. Games all around and of different genres too. They had many drinks, food available, and the games were cheap.CONS: They only had 3 one person bathrooms which always created a line. The bartenders werent the friendliest and the there was not enough room to walk around in. Most of the games were knock offs as well. You had some original games like Donkey Kong, Pong, Galaga but 85% of the consoles I saw were similar to original games but changed up.OVERALL: The reason for why I gave it a good rating despite more cons is because its a unique bar that you wont find anywhere else in the state that I enjoyed going to. I may not be back, but if you havent gone yet I would try it out.

Always fun here. Their covid rules were rough to protect themselves but they are lightening up. Cant wait to go back again.

Tons of fun! And the food there is pretty awesome...tons of vegan friendly options surprisingly. The crowd is easy going and drinks are quick. All around a good time..parking is scarce but thats Jersey City for you.

How can you possibly beat classic arcade games and craft beer? Probably as epic of a duo as PB&J as well as movies and popcorn. The atmosphere is cozy, yet energizing. Cant say there is much to improve on there to be honest.

If you want the greeter/ “hostess” at the door (didn’t catch her name) to speak to you in the most condescending manner then by all means, have a great time.I speak to my 5 yo with more respect. We got right up and left.

I am a huge fan of Barcades, especially the concept of combining a cozy bar and arcade gaming center is just perfect. They feature more than a few vintage arcade games like Daytona USA, Pinball, Mortal Combat, pacman, etc. This Barcade has great ambience - there is even some outdoor seating to soak up the summer sun as well. They have good choice of draft beers - feature a few local ones and some nice cocktails. I have been to a few of their locations and the experience is always fun.Recently visited them with a group of friends. We had first tried some good food, went for a bunch of sharable plates like Nachos, Garlic Bread and some Quesadilla. The food was pretty good - served with generous portion sizes at reasonable pricing, the menu was decently vegetarian/vegan friendly and the service was warm. However, found that there could have been a few more vegan/vegetarian friendly options as found in some of their other locations.Recommendations:Food: Bean Quesadilla and NachosGames:Daytona USA - must try in multiplayer versionPacman and some Pinball tooI would highly recommend this place to spend a fun evening with a group of friends having some nice time eating good food, some booze and play some of those classic arcade games.

Many varieties of beer make me come here, they have such a great variety. They also have lots and lots of arcade games to keep you busy between beers 🥴 the only problem is, the food menu is Very Limited.

Great selection of retro games. Cheap to play each game. Large selection of craft beer that changes per season. Arcade Machines have beer holders. No mainstream beers, typical bar food, parking a slight inconvenience due to location.

Every time I potentially come here, someone at the door gives me an attitude. For instance my ID was expired which is my fault but instead of just saying “I’m sorry we can’t serve you” the girl just made rude comments like “umm it’s been two years” “looks like your not drinking today” lol They even grabbed my friends passport out of her hand. We just wanted to play video games.

I use to enjoy going to the barcade.Not anymore. I went there last week to play video games & eat. Put my name on the waiting list the place wasnt crowded at all. Never received a text or call regarding a table . went to another place to eat. Smh

Just dont. Youll be lucky if anyone comes to take your order unless youre lucky enough if the girl with the green hair and the beautiful personality tends to you. The rest tend to I guess nothing inside and dont really even think about coming near you. This is my fifth visit that made me write the review. Just go to the other beer place down the street

Great fun place if for beer, video games and pinball.One star lost as the unisex toilets were grim, they were clean but its a pain when men leave the seat up and leave splashes, you just dont get that in a ladies toilet #firstworldproblems.

While I didnt hang around long enough to participate in the arcade aspect of Barcade, I certainly appreciated the bar part. Excellent selection of (mostly) local craft beers. Seems to be something for any taste in beer.

I went yesterday the hostess was extremely rude. The games were broken, and servers just did not want to be there. I will never go back, and I dont recommend anyone going here.

Good food and draft drinks with old school arcade games

Service was way better pre-covid19. Beers and mix drinks are still good. I would recommend order your drinks 2 or 3 at a time since its takes about 15 to 25 mins for the waiters to come back to your table to retake your order.

It’s always good vibes here. Classic Arcade games, pretty good beer selection and polite waiters/waitresses along with good service. Nonetheless their kitchen does lack at consistency with flavor. What makes a great restaurant is knowing you are going to get the same great flavor you’re familiar with every single time you patron that business. So you should expect a good time here by yourself or with a group but there may be times where the food is delicious and on some nights sub par.

Great place to remember your youth time playing arcades and early consoles games!A lot of arcade machines makes it easy to come here again and again.Loved to play original TETЯIS, TMNT, Mortal Kombat, and others.It is not usually crowded in the middle of the day so you can easily take a lunch to come here. Keep in mind it is not much to eat here so do it before.Though there is a bar inside so you do not need to bring your own drinks.

I have to go back and spend the rest of my coins.

Pinball! The honor of first bringing pinball to downtown Jersey City goes to the Pet Shop Bar. But now Barcade too has seen the light and upgraded some of their video games to pinball machines. And they went full in with no less than 5 great machines. As of writing, theres Star Trek, Addams Family, Champion Pub, Back to the Future, and, my favorite, Whirlwind.

This is exactly what you want it to be when you hear the name: Your childhood arcade inside of a large, open air bar. There are numerous types of games, from packman and centipede, to street fighter and donkey kong. The games do rotate, so no guarantee a game will still be there if you go back after a few weeks. Tokens/coins can be bought right in the bar, and there are plenty of multiplayer games as well. A good time for anyone who even remotely likes arcade games, as it has a ton of variety. There are also plenty of tables and seats for those who just want to watch. Recommend checking it out.

Barcade is my go-to whenever I need a growler of delicious craft beer in Jersey City. The variety is stellar and its been a lifeline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This place has all the original video games

They had a large variety of old school arcade games. Also the wide variety of beer made it possible to try different types. They tend to change they from time to time. The food here are definitely worth a shot to try. The fries are my favorite, nice and crunchy and not overly done. The people here are very friendly but they do tend to stay within their own groups.

Fun time. One of the bartenders was a little grumpy so I took a star away. Also the webpage says most games are 1 token. Not true. It’s mostly 2. Still very fun. 5 drinks (not all for me) was 45$ with tip.Still very fun and I felt it was worth it. My wife, brother in law and I spent only 10$ on games and had our fill of fun.

Last time i visited here on weekend with my friends and we had lot fun here. The place was really amazing and the atmosphere was cool and full of crowd. The drinks were brilliant with wide variety of choices. The music was superb. According to me its the best place for hangout.
