The place is over full with people and some really bad customers who can’t follow simple FIFO queue rules!I had come here to have the Pani Puri but it took me 40 mins to have it since a lady and her daughter and husband (who later came) broke the queue and went ahead!Plus when I told her that she is breaking the queue she responded me by blindly saying no I came here first !The lady serving pani puri was also chit chatting with her idk in what language but they didn’t seem nice!I won’t ever visit this congested place with No AC or hygiene and respect for customers !

I dont care about the food but what kind of restaurant u are running where the ac isnt working in summers and its like 106f outside. Cheap owner for sure.The vada pao and puff that we ordered was really good but 1 star for the kind of ambience this restaurant has

I ordered paneer tikka masala and chole bhature and mentioned kids will be eating so should not be spicy. But order came opposite, it was super spicy difficult to eat for adults.. I also ordered 6 inch pineapple cake which smelled and tasted stale.. this restaurant should have definitely food quality check.. everything seems to be cooked 5/6 hour early or a day before

Horrible service. I don’t recommend anyone going here unless you want to see how disorganization works. The place is a mess. Employees are fighting in the kitchen. My 3 simple order item took 45 mins.Owner is in his own world thinking the place runs great. Nothing is going to change here. 👎👎👎

I bought cake very first time even my friends were saying not to go, as they had very bad experience in terms of quality. I asked about freshness of cake and they said its fresh and backed in morning slot. The cake was sour while tasting and smelly when opened. I had to trash it as it is. Dont buy it or even taste it if you have no other options.

Craving for Pani Paris in NJ in an Indian setup? Look no further than Hot Breads. By Indian setup, I meant how you dont take a seat in a restaurant and wait for the puris to be served in a plate. This is proper Indian way of eating pani puris where you stand, hold a cup and gobble the puris the shop person continuously shoots at you, while racing against time.We brought one of our American friends to this place to get him have a taste of what a Pani puri was and we were glad they didnt disappoint us. We paid at the counter, took the bowls and got ready to be bombarded with the puris.The specialty about this place is that they have an array of different ‘paanis’/flavored waters - Ginger, mango, mint, hing, regular jaljeera and a lot more stationed in a cart. Just wish that the lady on the cart was more hospitable.Also, we once got a Blackforest cake from here and it was well made.

Pani puri, cakes,gajjar halwa with rabbidi, are must but pani puri i feel is quite pricey and cakes one has to be choosey to make sure they get the best cake, dhokla and other delicacies are okay, but not so great, chat and pav bajji, is also not so great, they have indo chinese cuisine , but they are mostly specialized in gujarati food, if you are gujari nad are inclined towards gujarati food, must try is JEELEBI WITH FAFDA

Horrible food , horrible service and the folks behavior is as worst as the food . First they take their own sweet time to deliver more than 2 hrs and when it’s cancelled and they still deliver , they ask for the food back, even if they get paid through grubhub. Avoid avoid avoid

Food is great but delivery from anywhere from this place takes a lot of time.We liked the vada pav, paneer sandwich and dabeli.Though vada pav was the winner of everything we ordered from this place.

Ordered delivery through Uber eats from this place. Bread Pakoda, Chole Bhatura, Pepper & Onion Pizza and Vada pav. All the food that was delivered was stale, soggy specially the pizza. Also the pizza crust seemed to have ketchup instead of marinara and the crust was horrible. We had to end up throwing almost all of the delivered food.We like the pani puri and black forest pastry from this place but only when you visit the store in person.Never order delivery from this place in my opinion.

Very good Jain food. Had paneer Tikka masala which was so delicious and right amount of spice. They had a Indian style paani puri laari that really brought out the Indian authentic vibes in a very small space. Must visit.

The people who serve pain-puri don’t give proper count. The lady who served me was very rude and arrogant . Management needs to make sure they look into this matter.

Live -Puri and live Pav Bhaji are best

I have only tried pani puri and cut mirchi both were good. Pani puri is super spicy.

We always order from this place for good Cake and pastries. If you want eggless cake thats the place to go.We tried a few other things (samosa ,chat ets)but taste wise there were average.Its a very small shop plus the indian street is very crowded and no place for parking there. There is a paid parking nearby though.

FUNGUS IN MY FOOD!! PLEASE BEWARE!! I just received my order and inside the puff there was loads of mold. I ate half of it without checking and feel like vomiting now. I am glad I opened the remaining half. :( I had ordered 60 dollars worth of stuff and just threw all of it in trash. Never ordering from them again. This is total trash. The pastries which we ordered for bday celebrations were super tasty.. we ordered pineapple and mango flavoured ones and they were yum yum.

Great street snacks. Fast service. Try the pineapple cake. Try the bombay sandwich.

Delicious Indian fast food! Mouth watering Chole Bhature and Paani puri.

We ordered recently from Hot Breads. Its been around in Newark Ave, Jersey City for quite a few years now, and used to be well known for the quality of its Indian bakery (pastries, cakes especially fruit and plum cakes etc). But now the quality has significantly degraded especially snacks and other non-bakery items.We had ordered Kathi rolls and veg puffs and both were under cooked, over oily and over spicy. No crispy fresh taste instead only a feeling of soggy wet maida atta in the mouth!!!We had also ordered a couple of Indian-chinese items - again less tasty and more oily and spicy.Next time, if we do order from Hot Breads, a big if, we will stick with limited bakery items.

Looks can be deceiving ( as you can see) however wada pav and Dabeli tasted good. They are open on mondays.

Had to wait for 30 mins just for 1 order of bhara pav. Customer ahead of us was been taken care off. This was my first time coming here. Wont recommend anyone who is in hurry.This kind of customer care is not expectable at all.Total disappointment

They have recently started Live Pav Bhaji. This is the best Pav Bhaji I have ever had in US. Excellent taste and worth the money.Snack items were good too.

Their live pani-puri counter is amazing...and its open again..Now also have a live Pav-bhaji counter.Their cakes and most of the snacks are worth the money.

Worst !I ordered for delivery .. app was showing 40 min around its 1 & half hr still didnt get delivery & now they are not even picking the call !When i called 1st time they said 15 more min & its already exceeded & lady was very rude 😡Still waitinggggggggggggggggGot order after 2 hrs & what i get just see the picture 😡

Good eggless pastries with Indian favorite flavors like Butterscotch, Pineapple and Black Forest. We have tried many different varieties and Hot Breads never failed to impress.

I think at this point it doesnt matter with my 1 star review when there are so many people giving them 1 stars. Hot Breads Owner, I hope you are reading all these reviews. You food may be good but your customer service needs lot of improvement and staff needs training.

Pastry was awful, it was like a hard bread! However few snacks are good, but they take lot of time to serve even if theres no customers.. And recently they started charging extra for credit cards, which isnt acceptable 😠

This place is a perfect spot if you are looking for authentic Indian snacks/small bites served in small portions. They are very different from the ones available in restaurants, which I feel take away the simplicity in them.I prefer the pakodas and the chaat items here and would recommend the same.

Took some snacks and had their panipuri. The puri was not fresh. They have 7-8 varieties of water of which only 2 are good. We brought some snacks home. After one bite we can feel they are not fresh.

The queue for panipuri is so long that u really have to have patience to stand in line at any given time..but omg the order here is delivered so late that u will forget that u ordered something from here ..the lady who takes orders has a drowsy and y to work here kind of face ..no smile nothing ..dont know y they keep such faces in front of customers...the taste of items is good but one must have much patience to wait here

I would have given this shop less than one star if was allowed. We have eaten here once few years back. Had a very serious stomach infection from there. Never going to go back to this place, serious hygiene lapses here.

***WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ***I would have given a zero star if there was an option. The worst experience. The pani puri lady was very rude. She was acting as if she was doing me a favor. She doesn’t know how to talk to customers. I wont think she even know how to treat others. When i am giving respect, i deserve and expect same in return. But this lady doesn’t even know the meaning of “respecting others”. Will never go there.

Excellent fresh Bombay pav and delicious wada pav. The only thing is that if you want a ladi, you typically can only get them after 5pm or so.

I WAS SOLD STALE CAKE!! I went to hot breads to get an eggless cake for my parents anniversary. I purchased a black forest cake. To my utter embarrassment, the cake turned out to be stale and nobody could eat it.I am never stepping my foot there again!!Disgusting!

Try the pani poori special here! I think its like $5 and totally worth it. They have about 6-7 different flavors and made for a great early evening snack.

Vada Pava isn’t as good as the Batata Vada, some items didn’t seem fresh, the Live pano Puri counter is quite decent. The ambience is not that great and i didn’t find many tables available in case you have a bigger group.

Went here mainly to try their falooda. It was okay, not what I had hoped for. But their vadilal icecream was really nice.

Don’t ever dare to buy a cake at Hot Breads... especially Birthday cakes where you need a cake with a specific color and design. These guys don’t even know difference between a red and pink color ...I specifically ordered a red (base) & white color (top) cake (7 pounds) with a specific design as it was my Son’s first Birthday and they said Yes sir, it will be done.These guys delivered a pink color base cake instead of red... everyone at party (about 50 guests) asked us why you ordered a pink color cake not a red or blue? So entire party was upset because of these color blindness people. Not just party but every single photo will have pink cake ... we can’t even use those photos as a memory for our son.

Love the samosas. They have precooked ones that they fry a final time before serving but the taste is great. The prices make everything worth it. The pani puri had a lot of options for the pani which we loved! Basically, a no frills place, that gives you a great value for money. Tip: pay cash for a discount.

I went in for a coffee. The girl at the counter was extremely rude and acted like she was doing me a favor. She made a coffee inside a microwave. It tasted horrible. If you are at the front counter of a reputable food place, there should be a certain amount of courtesy towards a paying customer. I am never going back.

Just came back from the shop. The shop is clean with a panipuri stand. My review reflects the service that I faced. A completely uninterested staff at the main counter told us the prices. When she delivered the orders she made mistake despite us asking to double check.Mistakes are mistakes; can happen to best of us. But if someone is on the phone during their job the probability increases.Update: I realized that a one star for such a minor mistake is not reasonable. So, I was planning to change it until I found out that some of the samosas were ROTTEN.

Pathetic customer service specially on Pani Puri stall.. taste is waste, too arrogant if u ask to make any change or ask any question and they are damn slow. All other items like samosa etc looks frozen, icecream is pathetic. Overall a perfect waste of money and time place.

The samosa was ok. Pani Puri is lovely. The lady who serves the Pani Puri is fun if you strike up a conversation with her. The person at the counter (maybe it is different people at different times) could do with a little joy in her life. Why do desis not smile when they look at each other? Many ppl come for eating panipuri. Maybe because they have a big crowd coming for this, they dont really care and offer poor service. They dont care about your order and a short, dark skinned lady behind the counter is so rude. Wont come here again and wouldnt recommend to anyone.

We have ordered through grubhub., our order is confirmed, we didn’t got our delivery, our waiting time is 3hrs since we placed our order., ended up canceling the order as it is not going come. Delivery service is very very bad. Don’t waste your time waiting for the food, ordering here.

They have good cake and bread( indian style paav). Panni Puri counter was good but its quality is decreasing day by day. Their service is unwelcoming and very bad.

Worst customer service ever. The food we ordered has horrible taste and smell. We had to threw the bad smelling and tasteless food in trash when the people at counter refused to change the item. They dint even refund and wanted us to eat that spoiled food saying it’s same as ever. Those people are just hypocrites. Horrible place, never going back.
