Despite being relatively small, this mosque is extremely beautiful and was built by Ibrahim Sharqi. Sikandar Lodhi had got this mosque demolished but, looking at the still remaining central arch and compared to the Atala Masjid and the Jama Masjid of Jaunpur with their great length and breadth, this mosque appears to be extremely beautiful. It has also been dealt great damage by floods in river Gomti. This arch is 35 ft. high and 32 ft. wide. After the demolition by Sikandar Lodhi, quite a lot of stones from here have been used in the Shahi bridge as well. This mosque is a very beautiful example of early Sharqi architecture.
Historical landmark with unique architectural design and i like the great design of the mosque.
The place is situated very close to the river Gomati. Architecture is remarkable. The place though has been declared an archeological site and some passageways etc have been constructed beautifully around the monument, but its sad that the authority has no supervision over the site at all. Consequently the place is beeing damaged everyday by people living around. All the railings and grills are being cut per day and stolen. So far a huge amount of metallic boundary is missing. What live there inside the monument are dogs and snakes only.I think the place can also be made a picnic spot for families in the town searching for some relieving place to spend happy family moments as the town has already been lacking in areas for childrens park and after day sites.Swings, security and snack stalls can be installed in order to attract tourists as well as residents of the town.Jai Hind!

Jaunpur, also known as Shiraz-e-Hind, is 58 km from Varanasi (formerly Benaras). Far is a major historical and religious city of Uttar Pradesh. The city was founded in 1360 by Delhi Sultan Firoz Tughlaq in memory of his cousin Jauna Khan. For this reason the city was named Jaunpur, the ruler of their eastern (Shirk) province. This mosque was built by Barbak Khan, brother of Feroz Shah. The fort still exists here. After this, around 1397 Malik Sarwar established Jaunpur as the Sharqi kingdom and ruled till 1476. Today we will learn some interesting facts from the study of a paper written by Mr. Syed Anwar Abbas about Jhanjhari Mosque, an important architectural example of Jaunpur. It is said that art was given great importance in the reign of the Sharqi rulers. Many tombs, mosques and madrasas were built here during his tenure. Therefore, the city is also known as the center of Muslim culture and artifacts. Many historical and beautiful buildings here tell stories of their past. One such building is built on the banks of river Gomti, known as Jhanjhari Masjid. This mosque is a unique specimen of old architecture. It was built by Ibrahim Shah Sharki (1401–1040) around 1408 in honor of Hazrat Said Sadar Jahan Ajmali. At the same time he also completed the construction of the Atala Mosque, whose construction was started in 1376 by Firoz Shah Tughlaq.4The Jhanjhari Mosque was built in the typical architectural style of Jaunpur with a large gateway in the middle of the front of the structures. But it was demolished by Sikandjar Lodi during the invasion of the Sharqi Sultanate. But still a part of it remains left and this part is still seen as existence. People also call this mosque because of its carved nets or jhanjiri, that is, Screening. At the same time, the decoration of decoration in the Tughra style of 15th century Arabic language is also present in it. The height of Tughra letters in curved edges is about 30 cm. is. They are even larger towards the base, which is a horizontal strip of signatured rock articles and joins the ends of the arch.
