A great campsite! The sites are laid out nicely, the registration process is super easy, and we found there was enough privacy without being super closed in - especially important as we stayed right near the entrance for a quick trip. Well definitely stay here again, maybe try out the ridge view campsites this time!
Year after Year I find myself at Snaring enjoying the mountain breeze, sunrise and sunsets behind the mountain peaks, and the ice cold River swim. Be it traveling through on my bike or car, or spending an entire week in the Jasper Area. Cannot get enough of this Campground. Quiet, respectful and clean. Sites are more than adequate for most campers with firepit and picnic tables at each one. Sites are spread out nicely and neatly surrounded by trees.It is a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis. They also offer over flow camping just across the bridge incase the regular spot is full.
We only stayed 1 night but the view was beautiful ...and the bathrooms were cleaner then most...close to town. It was my husbands first time, and he loved it. We would stay here again!

We were in the snaring overflow. For last minute, it was great! Views are awesome. Watched the sunset shadows cover the mountain. Woke up to elk in the yard when we got up. * WARNING * HIGH WINDS!! Seriously! Had to bring the slide out in for the night as it would have ripped the slide awning off!! Shook the trailer pretty good even with 5 point stabilizers.
Good sized sites. Tend pads are a good size and in good condition. Not all sites have good privacy from neighboring sites.Free firewood, although it is not under shelter and gets wet when it rains. Potable water is available.Bathrooms (pit toilets) are clean and well stocked.Sites fill up fast! No cell service at the campground, but plenty of birds and squirrels to keep you entertained.There are several paths down to the Snaring river which is a beautiful place to sit.
Snaring river campground is one of the best in jasper
One of the best campgrounds in Alberta. Only thing missing are showers and a place to do your dishes.

Nice, clean camp with tidy pit toilets and free wood. Decent sites— some definitely more private than others. Negatives: Very noisy with passing trains all night and highway sounds. Also had one trailer that left a generator running for two full days starting at 530am and up to 11pm...against posted generator hours...so bring ear plugs.
We stayed in the overflow campground, in our travel trailer, as the other campground was full. Its really more of a gravelled parking lot ... with picnic tables, fresh water and toilets available. They pack em in tight and move em out early here.Some unexpected and unpleasant rules here:- Even though this is a wide open, gravel lot, they do not allow campfires (no fire pits) or even propane fire rings!- No booze after 11 pm! (I dont know how they could find out if youre drinking in your motorhome or trailer.)- Checkout is 11 am- Very loud due to close proximity to rail line ... lots of train traffic- Very unusual hours for generator use ... 8 am - 10 am and 5 pm - 9 pm. So during the hottest part of the day, when it would be nice to run the generator and be able to use our air conditioner, we couldnt.- None, or very poor, cell signal, if this is important to you.- Max stay is only 2 daysOn the plus side, it seemed very clean, has fresh drinking water available, toilets and garbage disposal. If youre just looking for a parking spot for the night and want to go explore the park during the day, this isnt bad for $15.00 per day.

Beautiful place to camp in the wilderness
I camped with friends in here and it is great for a night. Lots of wood but no shade for the wood. It can get wet when raining. Toilets are clean. The river is just around the corner. There is a drinking tapwater onsite.
Best campground in jasper
Surprisingly nice overflow campground. The sites are private and spacious. Lots of bathrooms and theyre very clean. Glad to see some tax dollars going toward good work.

Such a nice campground!! Very tidy, water are available. Nice walk to the river, some sites are right on the river. The only thing is that we had a mouse visiting after a few days.
Great campsite with all the basic amenities for camping. Free firewood and it is very secluded with the river right beside the site. There is no campsite attendant, so the registration is all done on the honour system which feels very Canadian and makes me proud to live here.

Great campground. We arrived early and took a spot from some others leaving. I would recommend the early start as it was full throughout our stay. Toilets and drinking water was available too!
Really nice campsite, very spacious & peaceful. In a good location too - not too far from jasper! There were pit toilets but always kept very clean!

The campground has good toiletries and a decent amount of room between neighbours. The trail near the river is awesome and there are great views of the beautiful mountains all around. It also has free firewood which is excellent.
Beautiful campground. No cellphone reception which is perfect. Off the main road, about half way between Hinton and jasper. The sites are all well maintained and the bathroom facilities are well kept - doesnt even smell like a porta potty.
There is the main camp spot which has treed in spots and then there is the overflow open lot. We opt for the overflow lot for one nighters. The bathrooms are clean and it’s peaceful, just not private.
We stayed I. The Overflow parking and it was good for what we needed. Not fancy, it’s just a big open space with no trees or services.
Great campground out of way of the busy city. Bad thing is its only one tent and car per site but it was still worth 16 bucks a night. Has potable water and bathrooms and all other necessary amenities. Saw a black bear next to the road leading into the campground but he seemed not interested in anything but eating berries off the bushes!
I love Jasper, but this campground was quite crowded. There were people blasting music until 4 am. I would suggest Jonas Creek instead, or visiting later in the season. Jasper is quite popular after all :-)

Good spot, clean toilets, not too far from Jasper. They charge you 8$ per day for fire permit but you can find free wood for the fire in the camp.
Needed to leave early because a cougar attacked our tent twice. No phone number or place to go to get help and had to sleep in the car. Camping in Jasper since I was a child. Will not camp at snaring again. At least at Pocahontas they have on-site help and traps if needed

Great place to get away with a short 10 Minute drive from the town Jasper, with a variety of campsites from drive in to walk in. The river is crisp and cool and creates the perfect amount of sound to minimize the occasional sound of traffic or the nearby trains. Bathrooms are well stocked and spacious, campsite is clean and basic and has a gorgeous view. There are bathrooms, firewood, drinking water, garbage receptacles and food lockers available for use. No running water or other amenities. Exactly what we were looking for!
We had a spot that was along the river, literally a few steps and it had such a view... hell look at the pic! Only reason not 5 stars is that this is a small rustic place and a bit away from town (Jasper) not that that us a bad thing really but it really is kinda a over flow location.

The camp ground is one step up ammenity wise from back country camping, very limited spots in the main site, but the overflow is very handy to have.With whistlers closing for renovations, this is going to get very busy.

This is my favorite campground near Jasper. The view is amazing if your lucky enough to get on the River side.Now my only issue i had was we have came here and the over flow for years and my little family were having a fire a little past 11pm just the 3 of us and were told it was quiet time and fire has to be out. We were using our propane fire pit that didnt even make any noise and we were being respectful...no music on or anything. I repsect quiet times but i have never been to a campground where we had to basically go to bed at 11pm. Also the overflow just up the road never use to charge you. It is nearly the same price as snarring yet no firepits... Not even allowed a propane one. It was definetly a disapointment but we will more than likely return because the campground is worth it and have had no other issues.Just be aware of the changes if you have been there in the past :)
Excellent camp site close to town! Show up around noon for the best site pickings, its first come first serve. The site accepts a credit card for payment. Keep in mind the camp sites next to the river can get windy in the evening. Firewood was provided, the fire pits are smaller than usual but are very functional. Potable water is on site in a stored container- it is treated with chemicals. There is also a train track near the site- it does not have a remote feel but is far enough away from the main road that it stays fairly quiet. Many spots that fit an RV but no hookups and the water is not designated for RV fillup.
Good for walk in. Some really good spot.very nice.cheap price as well. Mountain view, as much wood you can burn...like it
I need info. Ive now called 4 times and left a voicemail. Also had two accociates say theyed transfer me and instead hang up the line. I want info on the fire ban and the base price for a lot. Cant believe how difficult it is to get this info out of @jasperNationalpark
We stayed in the overflow camping the first night, which far exceeded our expectations. There are lots of spots to choose from and clean toilets. The only thing you lack in the overflow lot is access to drinking water. The following morning we drove over to the main campground. There were plenty of open spots to choose from at 9:00am. Most have good privacy, and you can easily walk to the river nearby. No showers or sinks, and we did notice quite a few mosquitoes here. We also saw two bears within a mile of the campground our first day there.

There is an overflow campsite just across the bridge in front of this camp, and it is a camp like a sectioned ground, but there is a huge capa, so when you run into other campsites, go there. By the way, the view is very good as it is open in the woods and not open. Toilet and water are ants. No shower.
Super nice campsite, dry toilets, no shower, land in the forest, land spaces apart from each other, small flat structure for tents on each land, drinking water fountain, super affordable price!
First come, first serve. We were at 11.30 am and had 1 of the last places. So come early. Very simple camping. Firewood and toilets available. Train track is nearby and you can hear it. Many freight trains.

Located just outside of Jasper, this campsite is very scenic, right on the wild Snaring River. The CG is uncultivated, you look for yourself a free space and then registers itself. Here you can really quaint camping, at a moderate price. Those who would like to avoid the very big places like Whistler or Wapiti in Jasper NP will find a great alternative here. In the main season, however, you should not arrive too late, since the place has only 66 parking spaces. Fire pit and firewood are available.
Són càmpings that do not always have all the services but it is good to spend a night since it is near Jasper that is a very nice town with very nice people ... you can not miss it
