The school where me, my brothers, my father, uncles were the students of this school. there was admin buildings built in British India. beautiful were those. unfortunately theauthority, engineers demolished in the ground of aging. but it was possible to remain. we have lost times over rebuilding.we got it as two section one for non-bengalis section A, other for bangalees section B, during Pakistan era. there were two assets head master for the two sectionswe used afraid to visit section A, rarely we would visit that part.eating of tiffin, wandering around the pond in West where there was a palm tree,common room play, looking to circuit house in North, enjoying some classes of favorite teachers, ice cream by 25 / 50 paisa were the attractions.the green and big playground yet in mind, not forgettable. we used to fear while passing by head teachers house.it was hiding to avoid to present at noon prayers.it was another embarrassing to present at drawing class taken by wahab sir whom we gotvery nice latter on.sometimes used to fun in classes for which punishment were not forgiven.Once our head teachers son obaidul was got hurt by me, in doing funs, bleeding from nosemade me scared, but at last no reaction I got from head sir, it was one of bad time, but he remained my good friend.a good set of teachers we got. in our time Sirajul Haque sir from Bhola was our Head teacher who was looked like Shere e Bangla A K failure Haque, a very handsome personality he maintained.beloved teacher sheikh sir, ashraf sir, azizul haque sir who used to punish by hair pul, Majed sir, Mannan sir who used to throw duster, Qudrat(taler ati) sir who used to carry a short stick of bamboo branches, Pandit (Boral) sirnow are remembered with love and honor.the building yet standing in the North was twostoried with a buffer floor in between, built in British India era.Once we saw Pakistan army torture on a man hanging in open sky, during 1971from the class room, teachers warned not to look at.a good time we spent there.

Later, Jessore Zilla School acquired 7.8 acres of land in the Kharki-Jessore mouza and was shifted there after building new houses.Jessore Zilla School introduced teaching of Persian language in 1874 and of Urdu after 1947. Urdu was the medium of instruction for non-Bengali students of the school. The Pakistan government undertook the development of the school under a pilot project in 1963. That year a new stream of science group alongside the existing humanities group was introduced in the school. The commerce group was introduced in 1965 and in 1970, students got the opportunity to register in the fine arts group. It is one of the best school in Jashore Board. The teachers are very sincere and students are very good and obedient . Here about 2000 students studied and the teachers are about to 55 along with the headmaster. The headmaster is very sincere and strong ruled. Classes are held in 2 shift and each shift has a name . First shift is called as Morning shift and the second shift is called as Day shift. A K M Golam Azam is the headmaster of this famous and oldest school(2018). The school is one of the oldest school in Bangladesh as well as Asia. The school is situated at 1883. There are one mosque, two ponds , one official building , one computer lab , five building for class and multimedia class and the biggest 532 seated auditorium called as Jashore Zilla School Auditorium. Here admission is held only one time in a year for class 3 and 6 and officially 9. The campus is very nice.

This is the 2nd or 3rd best high school in jessore city. It situated 0.5 kilometer away from the heart of the city. Over 2000 students study here. It is the their only educational institution. Here is four separate buildings. All institutional works happens here from 7 am to 5 pm. In the school area theres also a school clinic and district education department. The traditional Jessore Zilla School was established by the British government in 1838 in the heart of Jessore city. Located on 6.60 acres of land, the school has a 12-room two-storey building to the north, a two-room one-storey building with a science laboratory to the south-west, a two-storey building to its south-east, a ground floor assembly room and a physics laboratory on the upper floor. To its south is the two-storey building with 6 rooms, the administrative building of the school. To its south is the headmasters residence. To its south is the workshop of the Department of Arts and to the far south is a two-storey academy building with 14 rooms. To its south is the school health clinic. Besides, the school has 1 ancient mosque, 1 newly constructed auditorium, 1 third class staff quarters, 3 dormitories and 2 ponds. The spacious school playground is beautiful. The school has an ancient rich library. The first headmaster of this ancient school was Mr. J. Smith.When the Hindu College was established in 1817, Western education was introduced in this country. After taking over the reins of India in 1828, Lord Bentinck established high English schools and colleges in various parts of the country to introduce Western education through the English language. As a result, the oldest school in Jessore, Jessore District School, was born in 1837 by the British government.The class activities of the school started with 132 students at the Kachari house of the then local zamindars wife Katyarini in the heart of Jessore city. At that time the name of the school was Jessore Government Model School. In 182 the name of the school was changed to Jessore District School. The special feature of the school is that it has been recognized as a high English school since its inception and is run by the government. The most attractive administrative building of Jessore Zilla School is very old and has been demolished. The spacious car porch was the main attraction of this building. From a distance, the building looked like a historic building. The school has two large two-storey buildings to the north and south. At one time the building was used as two dormitories. The two-storey house on the north was a Hindu dormitory and the two-storey house on the south was a Muslim dormitory. The Muslim dormitory was built by the then Deputy Commissioner Mr. Burton. This Jessore Zilla School with a tradition of one and a half hundred years is universally recognized as an ideal school of Bangladesh.(Collected)
