Shani dev lord

Shani Dev is one of the main deities worshiped in Hinduism. It is believed that Shani Dev punishes human beings for their sins and bad deeds etc. His body-radiance is like that of Indralilamani. There is a golden crown on the head, a garland around the neck and blue clothes on the body. Shani Dev rides on a vulture. They hold bow, arrow, trident and vermillion in their hands respectively.Shanidev was born on the day of Krishna Amavasya of Jyeshtha month. Shani was of opposite nature from the beginning as compared to the other sons of Surya. Shani is the son of Lord Surya and Chhaya (Sanvarna). These are considered to be cruel planets. The cruelty in his eyes is due to the curse of his wife. According to Mahant Premdas Maharaj of Shanidham Kokilavan, when Shani Dev was born, Surya got leprosy as soon as his eyes fell on his father. Gradually Shani Dev started having differences with his father. Surya wanted Shani to do good work, but he always had to be disappointed. On being eligible for children, Surya arranged a separate world for each child, but Shani Dev was not satisfied with his world. At the same time, Shani made a plan to attack all the worlds.
