I visited Channi Carpets in 2018, and purchased a camel hair carpet. It has been a wonderful and unique piece, so when I needed another carpet I knew where to go.I commissioned a custom silk carpet and am beyond delighted by the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail! Bali also kindly sent me photos during production.The silk 6’x9’ carpet is truly an incredible work of art I will cherish, and recall fondly my previous visit to India. Many thanks to Bali and all those who worked on this for the past few months!If ever I wish to have the finest camel hair or silk carpets made, I will seek out Channi Carpets.

Just received two shipments, one of Kalim rugs, and another for summer pjs. Love everything!I visited Channi Textiles in February 2020, just before everything shut down. The visit was fun and informative. So many beautiful things.I purchased two pair of silk pjs that were delivered to my hotel that evening. Beautiful and fit perfectly! They measured me during my visit and sewed them that afternoon.I also ordered an 10x12 wool rug and two smaller Kalims back in October for a home renovation. They were perfect and get lots of compliments.Luckily, they kept my measurements so it was easy to place the recent one for summer pjs. I worked with Balbir Kochar via email and WhatsApp to see fabrics and rug options. Easy! Prices are great and fabric options are endless.All my shipments came to Maryland within a week.Highly recommend!

The process was wonderful to watch. The prices were unbelievable and free shipping. Unfortunately for me, the time difference made it impossible for me to check some crucial information.It might be worth a trip back to India as I need more than one carpet. If you need to buy, buy from them.

We were in Jaipur as Covid broke and had to leave in a hurry to return to the UK. On the day we left, we had ordered 2 small wool carpets. On our return home, we sent for them and they arrived quickly and reliably. This year, 2021, we needed a larger silk carpet, which we bought from Channi Carpets, relying on photos which they sent. The carpet is beautiful. We would like to highly recommend this business. They are honest, have integrity and sell beautiful products at a fair price.

I have just received an order again from Channi, and this time they have made a carpet runner to my specifications. I can only add again how pleased I am with the quality of the rugs received. If you have an odd size you need--they will make it exactly that size. You can trust them. They are very patient with showing you all the possibilities.Twice now this business has gone the extra length to ensure that I had exactly the carpet I wanted, even though the first one was very small and not expensive at all. They are knowledgeable (the tour is very interesting), and the carpets and other textiles high quality. Payment has been secure--you can trust them with your credit card. Now that you cant travel, you can order from home and the carpet arrives in good order, exactly as you wanted. I will order again!

What can I say that hasn’t been said already? The quality of the rugs and the textiles is excellent. But what makes this place special is the people. They go above and beyond to make sure that you have the best possible experience. They are patient, never rush you, and are honest about their products and prices. We have bought 6 rugs from them and our entire home is full of textile products from them : bedsheets, dohars, pillow cases, cushion covers, table cloths, dinner placemats and napkins, etc. We get many compliments from guests in our house and we can proudly say that these are all from Channi Carpets and Textiles. In November of 2019, while traveling in India on a 50th High School Reunion, we stopped at Channi Carpets and Textiles. I met Bali and proceeded to order a newly designed runner with the choice of colors. I quote 1 handmade silk carpet size 26 x 126, design per dome (2x3 SS Dome). With Covid it was delayed, but along the way I received pictures and regular emails. Then a notice it had been shipped via DSL. I received my carpet in perfect order silk warp, cotton weft exactly as I had ordered and WOW does it look lovely in my entry way. Thank you Bali and your weavers for a magnificently designed and beautifully made carpet.

We have recently received our beautiful new rug for our orangery, which my husband and I designed on the computer and then sent to Bali at The Jaipur Shop (Channi Carpets and Textiles) along with colour swatches and they have produced a perfect rug for us! Its a place wherein you could practically get a lesson in how the age old tradition of handmade carpets has been preserved and taken ahead in future. And yes... Channi carpets has an amazing collection of wool and silk carpets.We and our kids had an educational experience learning the process of handmade carpets.They also have a great collection of block print textiles. Our kids enjoyed the hand on experience of block printing.The owner and his staff were extremely courteous with excellent customer service.We were excited to see some samples of carpets.The variety is overwhelming ! The owner took time to answer all our questions on various carpets,their make and maintenance without any pressure on us for buying them.The collection of carpets they make are beautiful.We ended up buying a silk carpet,that was shipped by the owner and arrived in good condition before time.Thankfully we did not face any customs hassles. The owner did clarify beforehand that if at all customs issues happen and how we can always reach out to them for guidance.This place is definitely worth a visit if you are thinking of purchasing a carpet or if you simply want to know more about handmade carpets and see true craftsmen at work.In the city filled with people trying to sell things to tourists by all means,doing business with honest and trustworthy people,selling quality products was refreshing.Apparently they are so famous that even our cab driver in Delhi (the city we visited after Jaipur) recommended them as the best in business.

On our recent 10 day trip to India, we asked guides to show us the best that could be seen of pottery, rugs, marble, leather, embroidery, painting and textiles. Back home, it had been my desire to arrange for some bespoke clothing for myself and family—but not your traditional suits that we could get at home but rather something more personal that would reflect the fabrics and workmanship that a place like Jaipur was famous for. Our guide took us many places and at all we were greeted as special visitors and shown their goods as well as behind the scenes but it was at Channi Carpets and Textiles that, in total, we probably spent 5 hours over the course of 3 visits! We revel in the process, impressed with the contributions of every member of the process block printing, dying, weaving of rugs. We were impressed with the facilities as well as the friendliness of all members of the production and the retail staff. As far as the bespoke clothing, the tailors took my measurements and articles of clothing from my husband while helping me to figure out the right sizes for my son and daughter who were at home. After seeing how beautiful the first pieces came out (waistcoat and tunic “Kurta” and linen pants), waistcoat with quilted fabric for my son and silk dresses for myself and daughter (we showed them a photo from online-then they made it down to the details!) we later ordered 4 custom shirts to mimic the style of my husband’s favorites from home but with the help of designers in the showroom to improve on them. We also were inspired to buy a complete set of cotton-silk bed sheets and a hand made and dyed comforter . . then adding custom shams. All the while, we were attended by a talented staff that worked like a well-oiled machine and many of who were also family. We also purchased pashminas and were given gifts as well which we treasure. I am confident that had we simply gone in to look or purchased only one or two items we would have had the same experience. We only wish we could have purchased a rug as well as the quality was beyond the best we had seen in Delhi and the price was less than half. Our visit to Channi Carpets and textiles is one we will not soon forget. Thank you to all who made this a highlight of our Jaipur Experience!
