Excellent hidden gem. A very chic & quaint property to fully relax. The entire staff is lovely and very hospitable. Big shout out to Chef Rishipal and all the dining room staff for going out of their way to make a special meal for us and for serving us in the outdoor seating area despite the distance that must have made serving us outdoors very taxing.

The place is located in an offbeat location around 30Km off Jaipur. The place is right in the middle of nowhere. The place was historically located next to a lake however the place still retains its beauty without one. The place has limited rooms and limited guest - making this place an ideal place for a couple or a family to spend a peaceful time with the pampering that the staff does. Extremely courteous staff and will go the extra mile to make the stay better for everyone. You even have an option for an open air meal, the staff will serve all the delicacy to you. (P.S. book a table on a spot if you like one)All in all - this is a fantastic place and as a traveller recommend this place.I sure will be visiting them again!!!

Went for the long weekend last week.It is one of the most beautiful properties that I hv been to. The place is in the middle of hills adjacent to a dormant dam outside jaipur. Its a property with views on all sides.Lush green forests, green hills all aroundA special word for their service. They go the extra mile to keep their customers happy. They specially arranged a kids cycle for my son which was not available to ensure that we can go out cycling together. In the evening I had gone for a quick jog and on my return I was greeted in the entrance with a refreshing lime soda, without me even asking for it . Also on our way back they packed a small box of lunch for our return journey.Me and my family were enthralled by every bit of their hospitality.I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking for a quiet weekend close to delhi .

Green, serene and a romantic weekend lodge with beautiful lawns overlooking the Aravali hills. Enjoyed the food and prompt service. Recommend chicken biryani, Lal mas (mutton) and bhindi sabji. Chilli paneer was lovely too. We had hot samosa, dal vada for breakfast in the buffet. Request the spice to be toned down. In the evenings, the sit outs at the verandah with adrak Chai and veg pakodas were to die for. Rooms are spacious, we booked the suite. Is good size for a family of 3 or 4. Do keep mosquito repellant handy for the rainy season. They have table tennis table, a combined basketball n tennis court for recreation.

Although only an hour away from jaipur it seems so secluded that you are totally cut off from all noise and disturbance of city life. Truly relaxing environment. Excellent food and service at the restaurant. Food was simple amazing, the options fresh and multi fold. Else there was a lack of general friendliness and hospitality which is odd for a Taj property. The room was great but ill- appointed for a place where room views should be great as there is nothing else to do. (Room #203). Just no markers to reach the place expect a missable sign at the entrance. Almost zero wifi in the rooms so please carry your dongles. A 2 night luxury getaway.

Secluded place with a scenic view of the mountain and plains. There are ( I think) 12 rooms mostly suites. The hotel overall has a wildlife theme going on. Just 2 floors (ground and first). There is no lift to go to the first floor, which may be a challenge for the differently-abled. The food is really really good. You should try the local cuisines to enjoy. They make dishes from veggies freshly picked from their own garden. So do ask for lemon grass tea when you are there. The service is amazing with each getting an individualized attention! They staff is really hard working and will do a lot to make you feel comfortable!

The staff is humble and helpful. We stayed only for one night but realized our mistake of not making the stay longer. Its so peaceful and quiet that at night ,one can hear ones thoughts.Plant lovers will find a huge variety of trees and plants all over the property.A special mention for Ms Ritu who manages the property for Taj. It was a pleasure to interact with her and one could easily see how much efforts have been put in by her. A cute little heritage hotel, that too a TAJ at the most unexpected place. On our recent trip to Jamwayi Temple, stumbled upon this nice place on way back. The turn towards bethe hotel can be easily missed as the road/gully does not seem to be leading anywhere, but yes thats the small gated narrow lane you have to take. Only cue is a prominent board right next. The hotel itself was a rest house built by the Maharaja Sawai Ram Singhji who had built the Ramgarh Dam. Hotel looks and feels like a Taj properly should to the T. Very nicely furnished true to the heritage theme. Sprawling lawns and a very good swimming pool to compliment, its a nice little getaway not far from Jaipur. All in all, an awesome hidden paradise only 40 mins from Jaipur.

It was an interesting experience to be a guest of this heritage property built by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob in 1920.Preferred by Maharani Gayatri Devi and her husband, Maharaja Man Singh II, this property has many hunting trophies shot by the Maharaja.Getting to this property one has to drive through a very narrow road built atop the old dam. There was only incline throughout the property and getting around and accessing the toilets would be very difficult for persons of reduced mobility. The front office Manager, Abhipray looked after us very well and enquired about us often though as is the case with properties frequented by more foreigners than Indians, the kitchen staff are spoilt rotten.Even though we took the meal package and were entitled to eat according to a time suitable to us, the kitchen staff always tried to serve our food as quickly as possible and before the appointed time so that they could run away home.At night they served us almost cold chicken cutlets.I even found a shard of broken grass while walking barefoot in the grass surrounding the outside bar area. The area surrounding the hotel is pristine and beautiful but infested with monkeys and an empty building on top of the dam has been converted into a Hanuman temple leading to regular feedings by locals of these monkeys. You can venture outside the property without carrying a stick and the entire property is surrounded by razor wire and electric fencing. The plug points in my bathroom were glitchy and I was afraid to plug in the hotels hair dryer.I heard that the Taj group is now upgrading this property from a Gateway to a SeleQtions, leading to more tariffs for the same amenities. All in all I suggest to drive here from Jaipur for lunch as its only an hour away but staying here is simply not worth it.

There are very rare people who will call their guest to check if they have reached safely amidst Delhi border ruckus. Tea can be enjoyed at the lawns on the backside of the building in a serene atmosphere. A nice place for spending a relaxed afternoon for the residents of nearby cities, such as Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, Shahpura, Manoharpur and Kotputli. Contrary to most of the reviews our experience was not that great at this hunting lodge that is definitely not 5 star and is rather dated in more ways than one .Our Cox and King tour group all agreed that we felt like we were the first guests this year , it fell well below the standards that we had at other Taj Hotels on our tour , for example the lounger cushions were covered with cobwebs and dried bird droppings .The mattresses didnt have any mattress protectors and the sheet was straight onto a stained old mattress with stains on the carpet in our bedroom , we would expect better than this .We spent 3 nights here and not only is it a fair distance from Jaipur which is not ideal for sightseeing the food was repetitive and minimal portions especially butter at breakfastThe official photographs are mis-representational as the tennis court which they claim to have has certainly seen better days , even if a net was erected it would be totally unplayable , the pool is not large , and its square shape and the fact it is extremely shallow makes it tricky to have a decent swim .On our arrival the approach / driveway didnt exactly fill us with confidence as it was barely even a rough track and required great dexterity from our coach driver , then to be greeted by 4 large stuffed animals in glass cases in the reception hall isnt really , I dont believe what the general public , certainly the British want to seeing longer , however historic this place might be .This Faded grandeur needs to improve , just a few things could really make quite a difference .

We read a lot of reviews whenever we chose any hotel/place to go because for me and my husband, every single minute of a vacation counts. We did read a lot of reviews about Ramgarh Lodge too before reaching there. But there were many surprises that waited for us there and which none in the reviews that we came across had spoken about!!1. Plethora of birds. No one told us (not even the property managers!) that we would be having breakfast with pied wagtails, roufus-treepies, forked tails, green beaeaters, sweet loving parrots, mad common babblers and a group of wild pigeons. You might get visited by a few squirrels too as you stretch yourself in the sprawling lawns while a few babblers might end up knocking at your window as you are about to doze off to a small afternoon nap! Please note that you need lesser number of people around to be able to watch those birds flutter around you and soon start treating you as one of them.2. The serenity. It is unbeatable. You can hear the sound of your fingers touching the nape of your neck as you gather your hair. You can hear the sound of the pen that you use to note down a certain thought as loud as that of a wheel scratching the rails when brakes are applied to an already-slowing-down train. If you focus too hard, you might even end up even hearing your own heart beat with bare ears!! IT IS THAT QUIET.3. The privacy. Respecting your privacy is number one rule for everyone who works there at the property. Be it the man deputed to look after the ducks or the shy village garden ladies whose heads stay usually buried in their work. The first morning when we were sitting outside below the central tree (which is also used as a bar in the nights), we were served tea almost an hour after we had requested for it. And later we realized that the staff knew better than us about not disturbing our private tryst with nature and with each other.4. The timelessness. When you see old-dead animals that must have passed away some 200 years ago, you cannot help but scrutinize their body parts more carefully as most of it have been safely preserved through a work done very well by the taxidermists. There are paintings belonging to 1883 and beyond depicting scenes from the yesteryears horse hunts. There is carrom board, there is chessboard and there are books. Everything to make you feel timeless and ageless.5. Indresh. This boy was one of the best feature of the hotel. He understood us particularly our dietary habits or potential preferences better than us. He knew when he could ask us to go for laal maas despite knowing fully well that we wished to try the fish or when he could request us not to order any dessert or to order it later for our stomachs might get too full to finish it. His intuitions were very strong about our yet-unknown-to-us desire for tea. He was extremely respectful and open hearted. Soft spoken. And lively. He made our stay much more special than it every could have been.People, this is a place sufficient in itself. And if you ever plan to stay there. Just stay there and enjoy the beauty of it. Dont waste time in exploring places around. Nothing is more beautiful and worth your time than the Lodge itself. We both loved it. Shall love it forever.

Lovely peaceful setting in midst of hills and aside lake ( though dry now). Homely tasty food and utmost care by each & every staff right from top management to last level. Truly Taj experience. Nice spacious rooms and quite clean along with maintained public areas with pool.

It is a luxurious property and is a great weekend destination. On the way to Jaipur one can hault one a day to two for spending some quality time with family. The property is an upscale one and the room rents are quite high.

14 room property near to jaipur. Perfect for a nights getaway.... Taj brand maintains the good service. Just be wary of mosquitoes when sitting outside....

A hunting lodge but it has mixture of both modern and Rajasthani architecture. It has all the modern amenities . The hotel is somewhere a little far from the city but its once in a life time experience with lot of open space and activities to do like playing badminton, chess, cricket, table tennis, tennis etc to play . The best part is you can enjoy your tea , breakfast in an open environment with lots of parrots and other birds visiting the hotel . There is a tree in the hotel premises which is inhabited by parrots. You can also cycle visiting the nearby village and if lucky you may spot peacocks, monkeys, crocodiles. The hotel provides free cycles. The hotel staff is very helpful and we also got a free upgrade to a bigger room on the ground floor near the dining . The icing on the cake is the food they serve , they customize according to your taste but retaining the original taste . I loved their tomato celery soup, palak panner , and the Rajasthani thali, yummy food.Overlooking the hotel was a water body which is dried up because of lack of rains and they used to have Boat racing once upon a time . Even the shooting of Zubeida movie has taken place here. This place has been visited by many big personalities. This place is very calm and one can have an interrupted conversation. Its a visual retreat .I would always cherish my stay with them .
