A lovely restaurant with a good selection of curries. Chicken was tough, but the curry sauce was delicious. Great setting and the ambience was improved by a wonderful musician who sang and played various instruments. Once youve finished your meal take a visit to the turban museum which is on the same site.

Wonderful place for a Rajasthani experience. Good and delicious food and service. Difficult to locate, not impressive from outside but good ambiance inside. Turban museum also there showcasing turban history of Rajasthan. Live Rajasthani folk music and dance. Good for outings with family and friends. Liquor options also available. A nice experience.

The food was more expensive than other places, but it was good. The restaurant was a little hard to locate. It is tucked away. The museum is dated, but hey, it gives you something to look at while waiting for your food. The entertainer / musician was funny but since I was the only one there I had to pay him, couldnt get out of that lol. There were people selling stuff right in front and they were quite pushy. I really didnt want anything, but they kept up their pitch from the moment I walked in until I left. Because of that, I wouldnt go back.

A seriously spectacular experience! I cant believe this place isnt more popular. We came on Christmas Eve and were the only ones in the restaurant. The staff were so accommodating and the food was outstanding. The egg curry, banana lassi, fried okra, and kashmiri chai were all delicious. To accompany our dinner, there was a fantastic musician who sang classic songs and played a ravanahatha. I wont be forgetting this experience for a long time.

I havent visited the place yet but as I was trying to reach the curator of Turban museum, she demanded 5000/- rupees just for me to click pictures. Very rude and obnoxious behaviour of the administration instead of helping a student they wanted to take advantage of them. Well museum is not even a museum its full of wrong information and is in pathetic condition. I dont know about the restaurant i hope its all fine but according to me never ever visit the museum. Your Administration sucks.P.S:- i gave them 5 stars because i want my review to be on top.

They were very happy to talk us through the menu and to help us make a choice of dishes and drinks, all of which were presented nicely and tasted great. We really enjoyed the Rajasthani Thali. The restaurant has a musician who plays a number of different instruments to keep you entertained during dinner and we were even invited to try playing along!

This is a fine food place for Rajasthani food. Ambiance was nice. Little costly place, they charged ₹600 for a buffet lunch which includes chicken, dhal, brinjal fry, paneer, rice and roti. Service is good. We can experience the authenticity of Rajasthani food and culture. There is a turbain museum attached to it but we missed to visit unfortunately. Im short, this is a fine place who can afford a bit much money for food and ambiance.

If you are a foreigner then you might like this place. The food is bland and tasteless as per indian standards. Would prefer eating at a local dhabha for good spicy flavourful food.THE GUY WHO PLAYS THE MUSIC WAS THE ONLY GOOD PART. HELL MAKE YOU SMILE AND THE FOOD WILL TAKE THAT SMILE AWAY.( Also I dont think youre supposed to charge more than the MRP for water . 20 rs bottle for 80rs )

The ambience was good but the tahli was a rippoff. Costed us 550+ tax and had just 5 bowls of dishes including a dessert. Only two pieces of roti and anything extra was chargeable. Attitude towards foreigners and Indians were evidently different. Two stars given only because of the ambience

Generic North Indian cuisine, hardly any local flavours. Foreign tourists might find this interesting, but best for Indian tourists to give it a miss and look for better options. I dont think any locals visit here at all.

Was there in Nov 2007. The place / courtyard was being renovated, so ate under a large tent. The food was absolutely delicious to our Indian palate. We tried various dishes. Shall certainly re-visit.

Sh
Review №29

We tried their unlimited Thali - which was delicious ( combination of a few Rajasthani dishes and the obvious North Indian dishes) and reasonable priced ( Rs. 550). They tried to give a authentic ambience to the whole setting - there is an open courtyard which could be nice in the evenings. The only problem was that they were a bit in a hurry to have us complete the meal - could have just informed they were approaching the closing time for lunch.

Really great place ! The service, the atmosphere, the design of the building. There was 10 of us, it took while before we decided on what to take but food was delicious. It is a little bit pricey - but I assume that we are not going to such a places every day.

This restaurant was full of tourists and no Indian people. First we thought it was because it was pricier than other places around but the food is quite bland. If you need a break from spicy Indian food then this is a good option. Servixe was very slow at the end when we asked for the bill and it took 10 minutes to get to us with no apology. As a further slap in the face, they included a service charge as a standard. This was the most expensive meal we have eaten in India so far and the least tasty so I would not recommend this restaurant.

Once you find this place you may want to make an U turn thinking that your may be at the wrong place. Be patient and keep waking the narrow passage passed the drying laundry to enter this traditional place set back in a narrow back street. You will find traditional authentic Rajasthani food with live music. The place could be a bit cleaner but than it wont be authentic. There is a palm reader on site that will set you back Rs 500.

Review №38

We’ve just come back from a tourist rip off. If you want to be made to dance and overcharged this is the place to go. Although lovely place and nice food, we felt uncomfortable and I think there was bad feeling all round when we felt pressured into leaving what was obviously too small a payment to the musicians and dancer. I would avoid. Quite intense as we were the only people there.

My first experience with Surabhi happened in 2002, and ever since then, Ive been extremely fond of this place. Unlike most of the other restaurants in Jaipur, Surabhi is bathed in calmness and offers some uniquely prepared dishes that are too hard to resist. If youre a hardcore non-vegetarian, go for the Lal Maas that could give the other dining places in the city a run for their money. And if youre a vegetarian, order Paneer Tikka Masala, a delicious blend of sweet and spicy. All in all, this restaurants ambience, atmosphere, hospitality and food force you to revisit it.Go for it.
