It was a fabulous walk amidst the green hills of Nahargarh fort , soaking up the history of the desert while marveling at the perfect water works of an era sans modern techniques. All this makes you wonder whether we have progressed or regressed!! And Neeraj ,who takes you through history, is a great Raconteur !Pic 1- The walk 😊Pic 2- View of city from Nahargarh Stepwell🀩Pic 3 - Flora of the hills during monsoonsπŸ’™

Fantastic tours organised by Neeraj, who not only is well informed about the water system but passionate about the subject, which is quite inspiring. I have attended two of his walks , Amber fort and Nahargarh fort. They are enriching experience with history, humour and folklore . Not to be missed.

Very interesting and informative water walk conducted by Neeraj ! I have been to the fort many a times in the past but the aspect of water conservation and storage was never covered during those trips. Those interested in enhancing their knowledge about our rich cultural heritage and our advanced engineering methods must go for this walk . There’s never a dull moment during the entire walk as the host is a master storyteller with interesting anecdotes, folk songs and tales and spins an interesting web around the whole concept of water conservation. If you are a visitor to the city or a local resident just go for it!

Water is the cultural repository of the desert state of Rajasthan. Its textiles, art, food, culture, valour, nothing would exist in its absence and every tale becomes magical in its presence. A land with practically no water evolved a beautiful culture around it that sustained life in the most inhospitable terrain for centuries. Heritage Water Walks is an enriching and entertaining storytelling tour to experience the sacredness of water in our culture & the wisdom of our ancestors. We conduct tours at the following sites: 1) Amber Palace 2) Nahargarh Fort 3) Ramgarh Dam. Uncover the stories hidden in the majestic forts & monuments- stories of water, stories of people & stories of life while enjoying a walk in jungle or the majestic grandeur of Amber Palace. Amber Palace Water Walk additional Info: -Walk includes parts of Amber Palace accessible only to our guests. -Water Walk price includes monument entry ticket. After the walk, same ticket can be used to view the Palace

Neeraj is the best story-teller. The heritage water walk is a must-do experience as one gets to know about the stories of water and how beautifully the flow of water is regulated. Would recommend everyone to do this walk.

We did the Nahargarh water walk with Neeraj. Even though I’ve lived in Jaipur for majority of my life, I’ve never known the marvel that is the water system at Nahargarh. The walk was very educative indeed andvwas done with much ease and as a leisure morning excursion. I highly recommend this walk to tourists and non-tourists alike because it stands apart not only because it educates about a topic that isn’t commonly explored but also because of the way it’s done.

I never thought History could be so interesting. Neeraj, is a storyteller and a fine one. I have attended many heritage walks before but never did I meet someone so knowledgable with an ability to share his vast knowledge with such effectiveness. He is mindful and you could feel that in the way he narrates his stories, not even for a minute throughout the two hour walk I felt bored. I was completely transported to the Rajputana era, every word made me visualise the past. I am so glad to have come across Heritage Water Walks. I am now looking forward to go back to attend his Narahgarh walk.I attended the Amer Palace Water Walks with Neeraj. I got to know so many things about rain water harvesting, working of the Persian wheel and water storage systems of the Rajputanas. I urge anyone and everyone going to Jaipur should attend this walk.

Ramgarh Water walk: can it really be a joyous experience???As kids one visited Ramgarh for picnics and boating, so I was really curious as how this place could be interesting with no water for decadesπŸ™„?Yes it can, specially when you have a master story teller Neeraj Doshi , who keeps each one engaged through his well researched narrative and anecdotes round water. Its a total socio- cultural- techno- economical experience. A big thank you to Neeraj for curating this and few more walk based on water.

Best experience so far of Nahargarh fort. All though I have been to this place many times before but didn’t had that in-depth knowledge and curiosity to know things. Neeraj has taken the art of heritage walks just a notch higher. It was a well mix of past and future in the sandstone buildings of Amer. Neeraj shows how it is possible for a person to tell multilayered stories in a graceful manner. Truly amazing, Neeraj!β€œ one thing to highlight we all need to preserve our heritage so that our future generation should feel proud of us and they also can have the essence of our rich heritage”

Neeraj is a great storyteller. Youll see some really cool stuff, some of it off the beaten path, but better yet, youll understand why. We had a blast, and nothing but good things to say about Neeraj as a guide.

If you like walking, exploring, history, story and good company... This walk is for you! Neeraj is such a brilliant storyteller that my 3 year old was completely captivated πŸ˜€There is plenty to knowledge, research, humour and most importantly a sense of history and culture that guides these walks with Neeraj. Our trip would be imcomplete without spending the precious 2-3 hours with not only understanding water systems around the forts but the entire cultural backdrop that is so so important for everything else that you see on the rest of your trip.Thank you Neeraj for a wonderful time. Will be back for more and hopefully by then you would have added many more walks πŸ˜€ All the best!

Neeraj has taken the art of heritage walks just a notch higher. Weaving the past and future in the sandstone buildings of Amer, the present is made beautiful and worth a ponder. A wonderful spatial story teller, Neeraj shows how it is possible for a person to tell multilayered stories. His storytelling very gracefully blends with the age old Indian story telling tradition, and I was and am totally in awe with the what, why, how, of the walk. God bless you and the very marvellous work you are doing, Neeraj!!!
