First and Only of its kind Museum India.. that only makes it real worthy of ones visit.. situated at Lt. Shaheed Amit Bhardwaj Marg at Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, Alice Garg National Sea Shell Museum is having more than 3000 varieties of Sea shells classified into Rare, Uncommon and Common categories. They have collected these shells from across the globe and preserved them beautifully. The maintenance is really commendable. They also have Live Shells which is worth experiencing for a lifetime memory. The Entry Charges are as follows:Adults - 50/-Students - 30/-Timings10 AM to 5 PMThursday Closed.Good place for every age group provides proper knowledge about life of sea creatures and sea shells. It takes around half an hour for the complete visit.
Unique place to visit. But then i feel the way things are now, until and unless someone is doing research on this subject or is too passionate or learned about sea shells, he or she will not find it engaging after a while. Make the place more engaging. Use suitable AV medium that offers relevant explanations. Presently the guide is definitely doing his job but AV medium have their own engagement capacity. Also add more variety to souvenirs that one can buy
Collection is good. Keeper guy is very good. But they are not advertising this museum properly. Very few people are aware of it. Damn this is a national museum but the presentation is very very very poor. It is made in a house, a national museum in house? Seriously?Whoever is the main director or key member of the museum, I am pretty sure that he/she have zero interest in this great collection.A small art gallery has better presentation than this.I feel bad that despite of seeing plethora of items, I am left with the impression of an ordinary souvenir shop. And the reason is presentation.
A very nice collection of rare shells. It is good place for kids. The owner is a very distinguished personality and has collected these shells during her tours to several places and beaches. Every piece in the museum is clearly marked and well explained.
Unique place to visit in Jaipur. Very close to the largest mall in Jaipur. 10-15 min from Sanganer Airport Jaipur. Corals & rare shells, conches, fossils and many other precious things are displayed. The staff is very polite & helps to understand the uniqueness of each piece. A must visit place in Jaipur.
Great place to explore abt shell and shankha, here u can find smallest to biggest shells and many more ocean creators
Not a very popular place, basically because its not known. Use Google maps to find it, tucked away in a residential area of Malviya Nagar, Jaipur. An almost comprehensive collection of shelled molluscs. Collected through the near obsessive interest of a single person, Mrs. Alice Garg, who is now in her eighties. The single employee, Mr. Meena, caretaker and guide is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You wont regret going here.Entry fee is 30 rupees. Photography is not permitted as it damages the shells.
A rare place in Jaipur, lying hidden in the streets. Must visit with kids once. The guide Mr. Meena is also very insightful and we enjoyed this visit very much.
One of a kind museum with reasonable entry fee...The employee who showed us around was really nice and knowledgeable
Alice Garg National Seashell Museum is located in Malviya Nagar. This unique museum showcases a huge collection of nearly 3000 different varieties of colorful seashells. Named after Alice Garg, the private owner of this seashell collection, the museum is now maintained by Rustomjee Memorial Foundation.A perfect place to learn about mollusks and shells, a library with a collection of posters, films and videos that will help you to learn more about the mollusks is located in the premises.Shells exhibited in the museum are collected from seas and sands across the world. The exhibits range from the largest giant clams to the smallest shells that would need a magnifying glass to observe the details.A visit to this museum is a pleasant break from the heritage structures in Jaipur, especially when travelling with kids. One could also visit Entertainment Paradise, situated nearby.Easily accessible, this museum remains open for visitors from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm in winters (December to February) and from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm in summers (March to November) on all days except Mondays and national holidays. An entry fee of INR 25 is collected; however large groups, students, and differently able people get a concession.
A place not known to all but possess one of the finest sea shell. The place is in the residential area of Malviya Nagar,Jaipur. The caretaker could be better still he is bearable. Its worth a visit for sure the money spent wont hurt the pocket.

You will find the shell collection ... And there is a shop from where you can buy some for you
Nice one but with no publicity and guidance
Ok or reasonabLe display.
Bakwas person who shows the museum. He is absurd and impatient and less interested in showing the museum with details. Owner of museum must change the resource person. Otherwise the museum is worth to visit specially those who have interest in nature.

It was a sad experience for me, this museum is either temporarily or permanently closed, nobody knows, google said that it was open but nah the gates were locked, we asked neighbors, they said since lockdown no one came here. If youre planning to visit call them once if no one picks up or the number is wrong, chances are it is still closed.(We went there around 11:30 am and it was not Thursday)
The innocent people are being employed with innocent people. Money is earned by displaying their jesus .. If anybody likes, these innocents are also sold.
