My family visited from india, we made a small trip from Houston to Dallas. We were looking for an Indian restaurant after a hectic tour in Dallas. As soon as i saw Andhra mess i felt nostalgic and took my family to this restaurant. They didn’t let us down with their hospitality, ambience and food. It is one of the best Indian restaurant experience i have had in recent times. Me and my family had the best end of the day/tour experience in Dallas. I definitely recommend their Mandi plate. It is more than a dish it is an experience.
Nice place to have South Indian lunch buffet for $20 in Irving. They will serve 3 veg curries like sambhar, more kuzhambu, paruppu podi with ghee, rasam, curd and 3 non veg curries like mutton Curry, chicken Curry, egg curry etc. 2 appetizers like pakoda, punugulu and sweet in bhojanam option. You can also place alacarte menu order for your favorite dish. Recommend to visit when you are really hungry or go with empty stomach. Had Malabar parota with naatu kozhi pulusu(spicy) which tasted like home made gravy and delicious Hyderabad dum veggie biryani.
The service is bad. Had been here after a hype. Wasnt up to the expectations. Had the South Indian Meal. Found it pricey and average.Tip : Best place for Mandi Biriyani(if you are rich), costs $110 for four people.Visit during off-seasons otherwise be prepared for a huge crowd and service discomfort.
This is Chicken Majestic that I ordered. Not sure what they gave, I called in Manager immediately and he was very rude and asked me to complain whether I can. The quality they followed is not at all healthy to public and needs to be immediately closed down. I already filed complaint with health department on this as chicken is stored for long time and cooked raw. Please do not visit this restaurant until health department have a resolution on this.
We had horrible experience. We have 20 people reserved for lunch on Sunday. They have given us one server for entire 20 people. The food taste is below average and on top of that they were out of rice(which is basic). We had to wait for 20 mins. No one came and apologize for the inconvenience and staff or not bothered about the issue at all. The irony is that they have charged 20% gratuity also at the end by default. I have attached pic where they served only curry on the plate without rice. There are lot of places with good food and good service in the area. Other than a catching menu ad, this place is the worst.
I will start with the word WOW!!!Atmosphere - 5 stars! The cut outs on the wall showing the city is just so cool and pretty. TVs hung showing beautiful and fun music videos. The sound is perfect. Not too loud or too soft. Very clean and the furniture is all very nice. Great lighting and beautiful light fixtures. Everyone is very pleasant as well. But we are here about the food, right???I got the Chicken Tikka Masala which is my favorite. I ordered it with medium heat. My nose was running and my mouth on fire. Not too much to where I could not taste the best Chicken Tikka Masala I have ever EVER had. Pictures are attached. It was spicy, flavorful and big hunks of chicken, onions, green peppers and red peppers. All cooked perfectly. This was not sitting in the back waiting to be scooped out for the next person. This was made right then just for me.But lets back up. I forgot about..... the coffee. OH MY!!!! Thats now my favorite coffee. I dont know what all was in it but you dont have to add to it. This is not something you add cream of sugar to. It is ready. And served authentically, per the owner, Ashok. Ashok was great and informative and kind. Very nice, friendly and warm smile and personality. You can say that about the whole place and all of the people there.Their naan.....BEST EVER!!! I had the garlic naan and it was superb. Wonderful flavor. Cooked perfectly.I did also get the fruit naan which is for kids....who better to get the fruit naan but the biggest kid ever, ME! Oh man, it was sooooo good. Lightly sweet. Not overpowered. Light, flaky, cooked perfectly. Anyone will love this!!!So, I really think if you enjoy Indian food, you should get here. FAST!!!
Tried the Mandi Platter today. It was great. Came with baked Pomfret, Biryani rice, Garlic naan, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton sukka, roast shrimp, lamb curry, gulab jamun, wheat halwa, salad and a side of watermelon juice. A good teamwork of 4 heavy-feasting adults is definitely needed to finish it all.Note: Don’t be surprised with the Chettinad flavor to all dishes. Definitely not purely Arabian or Hyderabadi spice mix.
I have been a regular customer over here from 6 months. And I have placed an order Today through call as I always do to pickup but I never experienced this type of rude behavior from them (He might be the owner but I don’t know, just guessing because of his attitude). When I called the they said the order will be ready with in 15 to 20 min. But I have appeared there in 30 to just give them time or whatever and then they said it’s getting ready. Then after 10 minME: is it ready ?That guy: No, 2 minME: did say nothing and i was okay with that but againThat guy: I cannot gave you an order before cook right ? ( with an attitude )ME: who told you to not cool right after I ordered ?......After few conversations between me and himThat guy: I will not give you the order where yah the same time the chef appeared with my food.I said don’t treat a customer like this and I don’t wanna get an argument with you. Took the order as of course it’s my need.
We ordered their Non-Veg Thali, not even single dish they served tasted average. It’s a complete rip-off charged us $24 including service tax. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.....HORRIBLE.....I am really sorry to say this but you people are cheating your customers.... this is the most disgusting/awful Indian food I ever hadOverall ratingsTaste 0Value for money 0Ambience 1Service 3
Food was tasty. Only thing, lot of items were missing in the veg thali and we werent given those items until we found about it by looking at other plates and asked about it.Poor service. No coordination between staff. Check all your items before you take to go order.
The taste of the food is good but everything else is a one-star experience. With over a 1-hour wait for a thali in an almost empty restaurant. Then having to tell them that were leaving because its been too long. No soap in the bathrooms. You are shuffled through some side door when you eat there. The thali is $20 a head which is more expensive than any other restraint offering it.
Non-veg thali - Not worthyThe price was too high it’s 20$ and they say it’s unlimited but mutton is limited🙄, only few curries were tasty and no curd, buttermilk mixed with rice was not good.
Even God doesnt know what that 15% service tax is for. This restaurant is overpriced. Moreover, they put 15% service tax for dining in. So, the customer comes and you want the money to serve them? Id be glad to pay this amount if this going to the waiters pocket. There are other pretty good Indian restaurants nearby.
Have been here for multiple times, Mainly I like their Grand Thali Mandi Biryani, thats the best I had in Us so Far. I liked their Meals they serve on the banana leafs ❤️♥️Thanks alot for maintaining good food standards even during these Challenging Times
The food here will take you back to Andhra!. Its yummy yummy and yummy!! Moreover service and quality is The Best!A must visit..
Worst Experience!!!!We bought Non-Veg thali which cost me 25$. But I got small bowls of non-veg curries and not even refills. For that I was charged 15% service tax and 8% tax.If I have an option to rate as Zero. I’d definitely do that.I suggest Don’t go to this restaurant.
Worst Service, No quality in food. God knows about 15% service charge. mentioned that they were charging 15% for Water bottle, Cleaning which we never get.If I have an option to rate as Zero. I’d definitely do that. You won’t get what you paid for here, Don’t ever never look at stupid restaurant.
Worst food ever. Ordered two vegetarian thalis. Completely waste of money. Rice items were mushy, not a single curry was good. Please don’t name it ‘Thali’. There are many better places around where we can get worthy food for the price we paid for 2 thalis.
This is one of the worst restaurant to eat Thali(veg and non-veg)We were charged 25$ for non veg and 17$ for veg Thali. The food and curries are totally tasteless and not worth the charge.First of all we never expected a Veg Thali without Sambar and the curd rice is disastrous. Its just like milk mixed with some rice and tempering. Total waste of the 17$.And non veg curries are the worst.Mutton curry is good and totally limited.Chicken curry tasted like its just cooked in lots of water with added spices and masala.Fish curry is the worst( I first thought it was sambar). Later realized it was fish and the taste was horrible.Pulav rice was good and limited but the white rice is totally stale and tasteless which is unlimited.I dont even know why the hell we are charged with 15% service tax.I would rate the restaurant zero(0) if i had the chance.
Review is specific to buffet (Thali).Food presentation is okService is not badTaste is way below expectations (each and every item), even a occasional cooking person is way better.Price is very very high
After so many days had a great and tasty indian food buddy........ Tnq ANDHRA MESSHaving a great time at ur site and feel like iam at my home 🏠
Food tasted nothing like andhra cuisine. It was very very bad and way too expensive. Not one item in the thaali was good.
Please don’t dare to try anytime here.Food(Quality & taste)-1/5Service- 0/5Safety protocols-1/5Worth for cost-0/5If there is option for 0.5 I would love to give the same.
Worst Indian food in Dallas. I don’t know why there is so much hype. Each and every dish we ordered was bad. Why do you need to put curry leaves in every dish. Chilli prawn and chilli chicken were sour. Andhra fried chicken was with gravy. How can fried chicken have gravy. I think the best thing I ordered was the ThumsUp. The uncle serving is a good man though.I won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Ordered 2 full trays of chicken spl boneless worth 250$ it was completely over salted and not at all eatable, waste of 250$ completely regret my decision
The dining experience was worst, probably the worst indian restaurant that I have been. One of the host is not even aware of the items that were being served. I had to learn about some of the made up taxes that will be added to the bill. For the total cost of 30$ I had to pay close to $60 after the taxes were added. A huge rip off. And the reviews from the people with me were removed deliberately.
I have been here for dinner as well as lunch and had great food and service both times. Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from. If you have to taste authentic Andhra cuisine in Dallas area, this is the place to go. Even my American co-workers loved the food. The waitresses are polite and social. They have unique programs like unlimited meals served at your table (much like an authentic Andhra mess), and tandoori nights with bring your own drinks.
The worst Andhra food I ever had in my life. Service was very bad. I wouldn’t suggest any one going to this place who would like to have Andhra food Tables were dirty despite of COVID -19 . No measures were taken . The person at the counter was rude. These people forcefully add service tax apart from sales tax. Limited Thali and worst service and very unhygienic. There are many other places in the city with better food taste.
Worst dinning experience in dallas metro. One of the host is not even aware of the items that were being served. I had to learn about some of the made up taxes that will be added to the bill. For the total cost of 30-35$ I had to pay close to $60 after the taxes were added. This restaurant will rip off your moneyThe reviews that were posted by friends was removedBig NO to this resturant
Today went for a Dine in after a longtime for a home food at Andhra Mess...Very good homely meals but i still love their Bhojanam they serve on your table....Please improve the service
We ordered mandi and it is the most terrible food we have had. The mandi rice we were served is too full of masala, dry and it is totally inedible. The meat is under cooked and I felt like they served us food from the previous day. The only star I am giving is for the service by the staff. Don’t try mandi here, the food is definitely stale!
I had a terrible experience with the nonveg thali or cost 20$ + taxes, food is not so good and some of them were overcooked and not taste as expected by seeing the pictures and reviews. Its a genuine experience and I felt like that.
Worst place ever. Food was limited and with like hardly 4 items provided and charged $21 with forced tax and gratuity.Food was also not good compared to last time I visited. No star for the service and food. Please avoid if possible. 1 star for the person who served us.
Not worthy to spend $20 on this. Waste of money. Even water bottle is not free, we were charged $1.99 for a water bottle. Not sure how can some one use the same copper glass in this COVID time.
Food was so appetizing. The staff was very helpful and welcoming.
Pathetic food. Extra oily and spicy and food. I believe the chef or owner changed. We rented the party hall and were really disappointed. Some of the kids went sick in the party hall. It looked like the acid content of the food was very high, may be because of low grade oil and super high spice level inspite of giving clear instructions to make mild/medium spicy food.My husband had thrown a party for me and I have been sick since last night. My son has also been throwing up and having severe tummy ache.I will never recommend this specially for guests and party where you have families and kids. Totally negative rating from my side.
Had a great lunch today with my family. All of us loved it and enjoyed the ambiance and typical Andhra style (serving by people with respect, and eating with hands in banana leaf). First time i have seen this concept in USA. Food was good, and perfect. I normally does not give 5 stars. Great going guys. Keep it up.
I did carry out which took longer than i expected. The food was hot! And i have a long drive home. I enjoyed the food it was spicy lots of nan. The roommate felt like there should have been more meet and less sauce?
The food quality was pathetic. It’s stinking bad. I do not recommend this restaurant.
If I had a option to give zero rating I would love to do it , worst experience I ever had. I wouldn’t suggest mandi at this place waste of money and waste of time. It almost took 1hr 30 min to get our order and honestly none of the item in the plate is good. Worst taste and too expensive almost paid $124 for mandi it’s really not worth it, if someone really find a place with good taste it’s worth it, but here I would say never try mandi and give your money to restaurant for free . If some one wants to dump their money order mandi.
Had a bad experience today. Staff is bad, they don’t serve food properly. They serve you half and gone. We should keep asking every time to serve some food. They didn’t even serve us water. I highly do not recommend this place to anyone. It’s way way way expensive for the food they serve.
Dissatisfied..!! Tasteless Food ..!! Unworthy for moneyI had $20 non veg thalli ..tried everything that was given...not even single dish was good. Fish was cooked separately and mixed with tomato curry.Crew was unfriendly, they got into an argument with the customers who were sitting behind us...!!
Beware - food will be spicy, that’s typical Andhra food. However, there are menu items from south India as well. Like dishes from Madurai, etc. food quality was good and staff were courteous. Taste can be a little better. Fried rice tasted like Biriyani..
Ordered a Mandi biryani for Togo. All items are good except little spicy for the kids...
Worst customer service ever. I was provided half the portion of the regular size and when i called the owner, he says he gets to decide how much he wants to deliver. Unethical business practice. Never going here again.Food quality is worst as well
Good food. Banana leaf meals and Mandi Biryani are awesome
Great taste! Recommended to have some excellent Indian food. Chicken Tikka Bowl was fabulous. Service is also great there!
Very nice place and very good food! It is my first time in an Indian restaurant and would definitely come again! I tried Maggi noodles
My first Indian food experience and it was amazing! The best palak paneer my sister in law has ever had. It was all so amazing! The cardamom in the tea was fresh. I just can’t say enough good about this place. The service and staff were impeccable!
If you place a To-Go order from here, you need to check your order before you leave the restaurant after picking up. They have a tendency of not completing your order correctly. This makes it stressful, because they make you also wait an extra 10-15 minutes to get your incorrect order than what they initially stated it would take. Not only did i have to wait those extra minutes once but twice just to go back and get my missing item.
The food is extremely nice and very friendly staff and so recommended. You can definitely feel the Andhra environment in this restaurant. Must stop for the next visit as well.
Worst place. Very poor hospitality. Arguing staff
One of the best Indian restaurant experiences in the area! Really enjoyed the full meals and the friendly service. I ordered the standard meal plate, and I was through satisfied. The theme and overall idea is lovely. Everything was clean as well. I will definitely be going there again.
First time ordering, never going back. They said the order will take 15 minutes. Got the food after 45 minutes. The place was near empty, so cant understand what takes them so long.Palak paneer WAS SALTY, order was missing one item. They asked to come back, cant wait 45 more minutes, sorry. Lost a future customer. Plenty of other reliable options in this area.
Extremely Disappointed with the food.Everything including rice is frozen and they just put it in microwave and served it.Guys dont waste your money....
It was pleasant to be in very clean and family friendly restaurant. The food was delicious, we ordered a variety of chicken and mutton dishes. My son enjoyed the Malabar parotta, it was very flakey and light! Definitely recommend ordering that!
Never coming back again , horrible service feel bad for just 1 person who was very diligent all others just wandering. If you are in food service customer attention is important not just giving unlimited food. Food was cold had to wait to find someone to ask for other menu items.when we pay so much we expect some service, the person at the register was worse didnt even bother to greet or ask please dont waste your time going here .
Worst experience.. very bad service and waited for 30 mins only for check.. not worth of money..
Really bad service and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to any one. Quality is not good and they serve half of the food and gone. You have to get up and tell them to come to your place to serve. I completely agree with those who rated 1 star or less and I would suggest everyone to please read review before you dine in
Tried this place with some coworkers today. Very disappointed in our experience. The food was absolutely cold and when we informed the owner/waiter he just shrugged. The owner was doing everything from waiting tables to serving food and cleaning tables which is not a problem but caused the service to be very slow. Dont be fooled by the pictures. So many better places in that area.
Very very disastrous restaurantWaste of money & flavor less of foodLessening quantity & quality of food & accusing double the price of beforeI can opt for zero or below negative rating
Excellent south Indian unlimited lunch meals. Delicious side dishes like goat curry, fish curry and chicken. Nice serving people.Clean and calm ambient.Even price is litter high it is valuable for variety of dishes. Typical superb meal for south Indian foodies.
The food here tastes good. One of the best restaurants at late night. I could feel like Chennai IT park.
Went there to pick up an order placed online.Felt the place was quite well organized and ambiance was cozy. The place was a bit small but quite well decorated.Seems like a nice place to have a small and quiet meal. The food that i picked up also was quite good. Will plan to go there in the future and try out the other dishes they offer.
The food was okay. The service was extremely poor. The people who were serving were good but were very few in number. Also, they are cheating people. The menus say that veg is $13 and non veg is $16. But they charged us $16 even for veg. When asked them to charge us only $13, they refused. Also, even though we were 5 people, we sat in different tables, they still charged us extra service charges which are charged if the number of people exceed 5.Overall a horrible experience.
Beautiful Ambience. Soothing music. Very friendly staff and they give good suggestions too. Variety of options and amazing food.
To start off, the owner or manager seemed very rude & unpleasant. He was in rush to get customers out of seats. He seemed eager for new customers but treated existing customers poorly. I understand it’s business but actually asking customers to leave so he could seat others is EXTREMELY rude.Second, the same man was harsh, rushing, patronizing his own staff. Staff seemed very overwhelmed.Third, the concept is great but lacks the staffing as each server is being pulled by customers for certain food, which is being served at the other end of restaurant.Fourth, food lacked verity of taste, all blended & same flavor.Fifth, over priced.
Have been here a year and half before. Food was little decent then, but my recent visit was not at all worth. Many dishes did not had salt, some were served cold. Serving was poorly done, we had to wait for quite sometime to be served between each dishes, also they kept forgetting to serve some dishes randomly to some of us. It’s a good place to experience aaku bhojanam but would not go again. Sadly disappointed.
Worst food and TOO COSTLY worst service I have ever experience apart from that 5$ charged in tax and claiming that including covid cleaning service fee and water bottle (not provided). Highly NOT RECOMMENDED
Great food. Authentic taste. Good interiors. Good service. Will visit again
This place rocks. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. Its a perfect little date spot. If you go, you wont regret it. And youll go back again. I promise.
Food is great, on the spicier side. Kids found medium level a bit too spicy. Vijayawada chicken biryani is awesome!
