Kalsubai is a mountain in the Western Ghats, located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Its summit situated at an elevation of 1646 metres is the highest point in Maharashtra. The mountain range lies within the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary.

At top of Maharashtra. A small temple of goddess Kalsubai. Amazing experience. About 2:30 to 3 hrs to reach the highest peak of Maharashtra. Few ladders to climb. The last ladder is pretty high. The view from top is amazing especially when all the clouds beneath the top. You can not see the top from the base. You can see many forts from the top.

The nature see you at this level this awesome. You see the bhandardam dam also see madangad,alang,kulang fort and most amazing you feel the silent nature with chill air. Way to reach upto this level is medium difficult. You have to surpass the ladder in road where you might against the monkey over there(they stolen my body deo in my bag). Many Lemon juice seller on the way are there. Overall experience is nice.please do visit

Highest peak of Maharashtra around 5500ft from sea level and 1465 ft from Bari village( base camp for trekkers)Best seqson to go will be june- july - august, rainy season basically, but it will be more difficult to trek during heavy rains.Things you must carry- medical kit, ample amount of water 2lit each, dry fit cloths and energy bar, glucose other eatables.You can also get eatables while trekking on the way also at higher cost.After trekking you can have food at base point.

It is said that a woman name kalsu bai was punished by the villagers and forced to leave the village, that woman climbed this mountain and started living on it and died there. Thats how the name of this mountain kalsu bai came
