Kanch Mandir(Temple of Mirrors)is one of the important tourist attractions in Indore city. The whole temples interior is intricately jeweled with all types of glass. One may find it hard to find the plaster or brickwork cause every inch of the interior is ornamented with glass. Since it is a Jain temple, it is open to tourists(other religions) after 10:30 am. There are uncountable murals on the walls depicting stories and mythology of deities. The staff here come forward to help tourists know the history and the meaning of murals. On the first floor, theres a meditation space and three idols of Mahaveer when if seen from sideways will appear 24 times in the mirror placed on both sides of the closed encampment.
The Kanch Mandir, as the name suggests, is a temple that is exclusively made of glass and mirrors. It is actually a Jain Temple located in Indore. The charm of the temple is further intensified with the skillfullyconstructed Chinese lantern-type glass lamps and cut glass chandeliers. Its intricate detailing reflects the talent and dedication of the artists. The temple houses 3 Lord Mahavira statues, inside a special chamber, which multiply indefinitely through their glass reflection images! Isn’t that cool? The glass and mirror work is multicoloured, adding a dash of bright sheen to the temple. Go witness this brilliantly executed work! This Jain temple is an architectural marvel simply because it’s entirely made of glass. It was built by the Jain industrialist Seth Hukumchand in the early 20th century. Its walls, ceiling, floor, pillars, doors and murals are all made with glass, with cut-glass chandeliers on the roof. A special glass chamber creates a visual illusion by multiplying the three statues of Mahavira into an indefinite number of images.
I visited the temple on the 27th Sept 2021It was an awsm experience and a really great feel to be thereEarlier also I have visited this place 3 to 4 times but the experience I had this time was really v bad regarding the behavior of the staffThey literally insulated us for not paying them bakshish. A few visitors ahead of us had given them some money as bakshish (Gift)but I was reluctant to give it and was literally insulted by the staff and they very blatantly said. Learn from the other visitors to pay. In fact even outside the temple the guard asked us to pay for putting our footwear outside

The premises has a Digamber Jain Statue in the centre of this temple. Intricate designs are all over this temple. Photography is prohibited inside the campus. It is neatly maintained. Shoes have to be removed outside the temple for a rate of Rs.2 for every pair kept. Bag & other belongings have to be kept outside the temple which is chargeable again.

The temple comprises a Lord Mahavira idol which was made from the black onyx. The glass chandeliers & Chinese style lanterns enhance its beauty by manifolds. Kanch Mandir is situated in close proximity to the Rajwada area which is one of the most famous places in Indore.

If you are around there then you must go ,but if you think that you go there only for it thats not worth it
Beautiful mosaics but nestles between the old city bazaar lanes or Indore. No way to park. Either take a scootie or walk. Some of the mosaics are cracking.
Camera werent allowed inside 😜Jain festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kach Ka Mandir. On Sugandh Dashami, special mandalas are constructed using multi-colored rice-powder.Collective kshamavani (festival of forgiveness) in Indore is organized here as a central institution, even though it is also celebrated at other Indore Jain temples.Annual rath-yatra on a golden palaki is taken our from here.
Beautiful jain temple located adjacent to the main market area of Indore. It is covered with glass and colored ceramic tiles on the roof, floor and pillars. There are many more unique things to see inside the temple, but it is a living shrine so maintaining sanctity of the place is important. Visitors (who are not Jain devotees) can visit between 10am - 5pm. Photography is not allowed inside.

Nice...historical place with beautifully decorated and detailed to design.
Its a jain temple, what i didnt liked here is that they wont allow other religion people entry after 5, When i asked them they told only jain people can come there and discuss, I really didnt thought that in temples also they do this discrimination and I dont want to hurt anyone of your sentiments but take as you in my place, you go to any devoted place and before entering they ask you your religion and tell you are not allowed what you will feel, when you came from far away just for that temple.

AmazingGreat.Mirror palaceKanch Mandir
Truly beautiful temple with thousands of mirrors inside. Nothing like I’ve ever seen. Definitely worth a visit while in Indore.Definitely a shame you can’t take photos inside. The art (especially the heaven/earth/hell piece) was really astonishing. It turned out the doorman who ensured everyone removed their shoes before entering wanted some money at the end. I guess he was making sure no one stole them? We gave him 10 rupees and he looked a little disappointed.
Jain Temple with glass everywhere on the walls, on the floor.
Beautiful piece of work
Its really amazing place to visit. All beautiful pictures are in a systematic way and made in glass.Jain mandir.Feeling awasome , mindblowing.
Peaceful place on a very busy road. The place is so peaceful but the parking problem persist. It is a temple having mirrors based on Jain ritual its having statues and not only people who obey Jain religion come here but also people who follow different ritual also pay a visit to this place. It is one of the great attraction to watch in Indore.
Amazing
Its an awesome experience.. a unique mix of ultimate luxury, architecture, technique, and symbolism. However it needs a lot of maintenance.. there was dirt and at few places the glasses were dull , maybe covered with dirt. It doesnt require huge cost in maintenance and restoration. If Right pitch made, the money can be forthcoming incl from the undersigned.. hope this is taken with a positive bias ... amazing work... hats off to the founders..
