This palace is amazing and the new amazing thing is that The ravishing decorations in the style of Versailles Palace uses Italian marble columns, grand chandeliers, Persian carpets and flying nymphs on the ceiling gives the tourists a wonderful experience. Outside of the place is also too much beautiful. A big beautiful garden adds extra beautiful ness to the palace. The palace shows the grand ness of the Holkar dynasty. It is superb, fantastic and grand.
The outside area can be maintained properly.. parking amount was taken but no receipt was given. Photos should be allowed inside.
If you love to watch historical residences, then this place can be on your list. You will find Belgian glasses on windows, Italian marble pillars and floors & a lot more to see.
Well known landmark, amazing interiors, do not click pictures inside , maintain decorum
Beautiful palace from the Holkar Dynasty in Indore. It’s quite massive built with European style with a grand ballroom. You can take photos outside but you can’t take your mobile phones or any other camera equipment inside, photography is not allowed inside the palace. Mobiles have to be deposited outside at the entrance. Beautiful carvings on the walls and ceilings show the grandeur of the palace. The Management can do a bit more to preserve the beauty of this palace as few things are not well maintained. Definitely worth a visit when in Indore.Very nice palace built in European style. Beautiful interiors that bring happiness to your creative soul. The entry fee is 10rs for Indians, no photography allowed inside which makes for a peaceful experience. Mobile phones are deposited at the entrance and youre given a token. The garden outside is not maintained well and could use some attention from tourism department. One of the good historical attractions in Indore city
The Italian marble darbar hall is worth a visit.
Beautiful palace. Mix work of Uropian and indian style. But most of the rooms are close for maintenance work. Staf is very helpful to give information about palace. Nicely use Italian marble give richness to palace. Good to visit.
Palace is good, natural beauty of garden is natural there is no efforts from government to beauty it for city attraction, although its a heritage building.
A very well annointed palace...but in shambles. Provides a short tour of the palace in two floors...Rs 10 for adults...nishulk for children...Rs 250 for foreigners. No cameras and mobiles permitted inside the palace. Either keep it in your vehicle or handover to the palace staff on a token system for lockers.Adhoc vehicle parking arrangement available at additional Rs 10.Presently some much required renovation work is on...which is very much needed ofcourse.
Nice place. Historical significance.
Except the colourful pillared entrance hall and the impressive facades of the 19th century palace, everything is normal and not grand as the owners lived a simple life without much fancy.Theres nothing much from the antique items perspective except few chandeliers in the dining hall or meeting hall and dont understand why photography is not allowed inside.
From the entrance to the exit of the palace you will see & feel the Royalness of the King at that time when a few of the people were unable to feed their family properly.
This palace is a good place for history lovers. Not very huge or extremely marvellous like the Salar Jung at Hyderabad but a one time visit can be paid here happily.
Nice place but needs maintenance though.. the lawns around are all dry and not scenic at all.. no description on the age of items displayed inside the palace..Phones arent allowed inside.. the security asked to deposit phones. Planetarium isnt functional.. 10 rupees entry ticket..Management needs to focus on the maintenance at least by increasing the entry fee.. Avg parking space..paid parking..
It is a awesome palace to visit. The interior is almost untouched and real . It is basically a place where you get to knw the lavish life of the people living there. In covid condition and nowadays most of the interior are under renovation so not allowed to visit
Currently under maintenance. Youll love this place if youre into Architecture and heritage.
Can be visited once. But the beauty is ok peak in monsoon.

Well maintained place, upholstry though needs some repairing, even though it will mean tinkering with authentic material, but torn covers on seats are looking shabby in otherwise an elegant set up. Also the rooms which are having restricted entry need to be closed properly. With little more care and cleaning this place have a potential to become a major tourist attraction, if its not one already.
Historical place in Indore .Neat and Clean₹12 ticket priceCamera is not allowed inside.
This is a wonderful palace, their is adequate space outside for visitors to sit and idel away. Good place to bring kids. Mondays are closed, this palace was renovated in 2018. Love this place....if you are a history freak a architecture lover do visit this palace, the amazing interiors will take you to the other world back to the days in the past, this is the true example of the past grandeur and the royalty of maharajahs in the British raj.The French interiors of this palace is never seen else where in India.....and the fact that the gateway to the palace is same like the bukhingam palace in London very less know to the people of India. The only disappointment is that you’re not allowed to carry any camera and Mobil phones in the palace premises.
Historical place. Very enriching experience to visit. Got to learn a lot about Indias culture & art. The museum was very well organized. The book shop also had books about great personalities.
The front part of the palace is well maintained, however the back part and rooms are not in a good condition. Many rooms are closed for public viewing. All in all a good place to spend your time. 👍🏻
Beautiful place to grasp some knowledge, it is one the famous site seen in indore for visitors. It has a huge space. The interior is quite attractive. There is a Taramandal as well of previous time. There is a huge garden too.Good for family friends and couples to kill the time. The tickets prices are also cheap so school students can go for picnic too.
This palace is nearly 175 years old and has started crumbling in few places. Its the official residence of the erstwhile Royal family of Indore. The Palace built by Maharaja Shivaji rao holkar on the bank of River Khan where might be old looking on the outside is a real beauty on the inside.♥️The rooms inside the palace have been turned into museum with Italian marble columns decorated in the versailles palace style. And the beautiful room in the whole palace is the grand ballroom where you might see the paintings on the ceiling to the wooden floor and the throne that can be seen, the beauty in the room will capture cause that room is always glimmering and in the daytime if the light is entering the room from one side you might be able to see the room lighten up by the sunlight alone.♥️Mostly everything has been displayed and opened to the public like the two different types of dining room the bathrooms, the bedrooms and there is a small art gallery too on the top floor and on the display are two Tiger skin stuffed that were killed by Maharaja Shivaji rao holkar himself.♥️It has 5 stuffed tigers and a leopard inside which were hunted by the king and they look awesome. It has a small planetarium which shows the stars, planets, sun, moon and constellations as seen from Indore.♥️Huge palace with massive gardens. This is the place for you If you enjoy history, architecture and legacies of old India. Great photo exhibition inside the palace too. Plan a visit if you can spare an hour to stroll in Indore.P.S- Camera isnt allowed inside.Parking fee Rs 10, Entry fee Rs 10

Its is my truly one of the best experience in lal bagh museum. There is a lots of knowledge about the history of indian culture.Lal Bagh Palace was built by Maharaja Shivaji Rao Holkar, during 1886 and 1921. Situated at the bank of River Khan, this three storeyed structure is used for hosting royal receptions. Originally, the construction of the palace began in 1886, under the reign of Tukoji Rao Holkar II. The final phase of construction was completed in 1921, under the rule of Tukoji Rao Holkar III.

LalBagh is best historical place with a very fine view. The entrance gates of the palace are the copy of Buckingham palaces, gate of queen of London, which are very magnificent and worth to be seen. Spring-mounted floor in ballroom, marble columns, chandeliers, stained glass windows and stuffed tigers add to the splendor of the palace.
Tukoramji Holkar 3 , nehru bagh... An open to public palace, u can sneak in d lifestyle of the King. Though photography inside the palace is restricted, good parking and nominal 10 rs fee
The main gates of the Palace are a replica of the gates of Buckingham palace which is situated in London. The gates were shipped from England. The gates carry the Holkar state emblem which states “He who tries will succeed”. The daunting gates of the Lal Bagh Palace are unique in Asia.

Lal Baag Palace is one of the most spectacular buildings in Indore. It stands on the outskirts of the town, towards the southwest. It is a three storey building on the bank of the River Khan. The palace was built by Maharaja Shivaji Rao Holkar during 1886-1921. Situated amidst dry and dusty gardens, it is architecturally quite similar to the New Palace. Lal Bagh Palace once hosted many royal receptions and even today, reflects the life style and taste of the Holkar Rulers.
Nice historical place/ museum.
Great place to visit with family. Just a suggestion to add more facilities when you go inside. Also the place is teared off, not maintained well. Government can charge some entry fees but should invest a bit to keep this place alive. Else people will stop coming here and we will loose a fantastic heritage spot. Lot of interesting history hidden inside.
Huge palace with massive gardens. This is the place for you If you enjoy history, architecture and legacies of old India. Great photo exhibition inside the palace too. Plan a visit if you can spare an hour to stroll in indore
Visit once if you like old palaces, architecture etc.
The Lal Bagh Palace was built by Maharaja Shivaji Rao Holkar in the year 1886. The construction took 31 years to complete. The beautiful three-storey palace is situated on the outskirts of Indore on the banks of the river Khan. The palace is a manifestation of the lifestyle of the Maratha rulers. Spread over an area of 11, 3312 sq. m. the Lal Bagh Palace architecturally resembles the new palace of the Holkars. The palace also houses a coin collection which is from the Mughal period. The main gates of Lal Bagh Palace are a replica of the gates of London’s Buckingham palace; in fact, they were shipped from England. The whole complex covers a total area of 28 acres. The palace also exhibits many contemporary Indian and Italian paintings and sculptures. The ravishing decorations inspired by the Versailles Palace uses Italian marble columns, grand chandeliers, Persian carpets and flying nymphs on the ceiling. Other attractions of the palace are furnished rooms with beautiful carvings on the walls as well as the ceilings and the rose garden. The rooms of the palace have been restored, furnished and converted into a museum. Much of the furniture and ornamentation belongs to late Regency and early Georgian style.
Good place to visit and enjoy your weekends..green park area.
Best Place to visit in indore.
The planetarium is the best part. Do go for it. the show goes for 10 mins. The interiors are antique. Phone is not allowed. Ticket is 10 rupee only.
Beautiful place. Must watch the planetarium. Dont leave your vehicle at the main entrance otherwise you have to walk a lot.
A very nice historical palace one of the greatest Indian warrior. But the articles in palace need to be maintained with proper care...
Not very good photography not allowed
Not maintained properly...
A beautiful palace with lot of potential kept in pathetic conditions... Very sad to see it get wasted like this. Only part of the palace was open for visit. Some restoration work is on but doesnt seem like its in the direction needed. Indore has limited places to go to and this could have been one of the top attractions if well kept.
Under construction last 2 years and maybe finalized after 2 years. So dont go there now
