The Krishnapura Chhatri, also known as the Krishna Pura Chhatri are three chhatri located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. The structures were built by the Holkars as cenotaphs to house the remains of the dynastys rulers, leading to them also being known as the Holkar Chhatris. All three of the Chhatris are located half a kilometer from the palace-city of Rajwada, which was also built by the Holkar dynasty. This place is located in crowdy area. The Architecture of this temple is marvelous.
These ‘Chattries’ were built by the Holkar rulers in the memory of other Holkar ancestors who ruled over Indore on behalf of the Maratha Empire. A quick tourist spot - won’t take time to go and explore these Chattries. One can walk and see the carvings and the architecture of the structure. These Chattries are not far from the Rajwada Palace.
A spot for pre wedding photoshoots. Though the place is roughly maintained, it smells really bad. The architecture here is beautiful anyway.
In the cleanest city Indore we have this historical building which does not have any cleanliness, there is no plans for renovation. Temples are closed , plants growing on these chattris.
A historical side turned into a homeless shelter. An upgrade in status for this poor temple that of course includes all the benefits that come with being a shelter for the homeless (human waste and trash everywhere).India is truly full of new things to experience. Sometimes I truly wonder what the people in the Indian government are doing with their time.
Very dirty, and a disappointing visit. The lack of civic sense amongst the visitors, neglect by the administration has resulted in such a beautiful group of monuments look like garbage.
I visited this place because i found it attractive from its design and texture, but when i went inside, the ambience was completely unhygenic no cleaniness, garbage was scattered everywhere, some mentally disable people were sleeping there , open defecation and foul smell from the garbage heap. I will never prefer someone to visit this place. This place need lot of maintenance as it is quite attractive from its design and it shows some culture in its designing. If you want to visit this place must take precautions first.

It is a historical place having a temple of shiva but there is no proper awareness of the place seen over there . People use it as a garden for couple meetings . Good place for photos
Historical monument, a great archeological site. Should be preserved at any cost.
If you have been to Indore and havent been to Krishna Pura Chhatri, you are missing a one of the most monumental places. Have a glass of juice for the shops opposite and take a walk around this place at dawn.
It feels nice and cool inside temple. Good place in heart of city to feel calmness.
KRISHNA PURA CHHATRI , The structures were built by the Holkars as cenotaphs to house the remains of the dynastys rulers, leading to them also being known as the Holkar Chhatris. All three of the Chhatris are located half a kilometer from the palace-city of Rajwada, which was also built by the Holkar dynasty.
Holkar states monuments. It was a royal burial place of that time. People used to visit temples and offering prayers. But now , at present, nobody is l said nobody, no political leader, no government official and even public is taking their interest to keep this monuments safe.Thats why l am reviewing three stars and people uploaded only those pics which are common and good to see and now l am sending few pictures which are screaming for this sacred and historic place
The Krishna Pura Chhatri is located very close to Rajawada. Very well connected by public transport, rickshaw, & cabs, it can be easily reached. Beautiful architecture welcomes the explorer. Very finely detailed guards, elephants, Nandi, & other fine architecture can be seen here. To be fair, the place felt like its in a neglected state & deserves more than the condition we can find it in today. More historical details need to be displayed for people to understand & appreciate better.
Holkar Chhatri. Maratha dynasty. Well maintained monument. Clean place. Best place to spend evening and roam around. Nice carving on monument. Good to visit with friends and family.
Things that you feel extraordinary
Nice place. Has free entry. Neatly maintained. Be careful enough to remove your shoes before entering as this place has a temple. Guard on duty is there 24*7. This is located on the banks of sarasvati river. There are two different structures or building. Both have similar architecture. The cenotaphs are from late 1800 and have wall carvings & statues. It is a nice place for photography.
One of those places in Indore which could be well maintained and cleaned in order to attract tourists. The place seems abandoned and neglected. The architecture is amazing. Hope they restore this place very soon.
Temple is ancient and the architecture is so beautiful but it required care and mantanance.
Historical place of Holkars in IndoreGreat architecture 🇮🇳🚩👍
Its in indore a good site to visit its an temple but not worshipped anymore. Beautifully architecture
Beautiful place. Should be maintained properly. People were sleeping all over the place. Street kids playing on the idols..
Best place ever. . . This place is near to Rajwada palace Indore. Best and cleaned place.
Like most other places in Indore it is very near and clean, the edifices are beautifully and meticulously carved and are very well maintained even though it is in the middle of a bustling bazaar. The only issue is the number of locals sleeping inside the building at all times..
Royal grave of Holkar DynestyIt is situated besides the bank of Khan river. In reality it is the royal grave of Holkar Dynesty. Here so many permanent canopies are situated which are very beautiful and attractive. The architecture of the canopies is very fine.At night all canopies are lightens with decorative lights.
Chhatri bagh has immense importance in history of Indore. There were all 9 chhatris and most beautiful and grandeur reflect in the chhatris.
Krishna puri chhatris are the Cenotaphs built in 19th century under Holkar dynasty. It is located on the bank of river kahn. The chhatris are named on the holkar queen krishna bai holkar.

Great archetact of Holkar rulers, but not maintained by authorities. Beggers, smokers or labour type people are roaming & sleeping in this premises.
Just great peas of Architect of Holkar empire
The cenotaphs of the Holkar rulers of Indore are marvels in stone .
Its a good place to sit and hangout. Since its restoration, it is more cleaner and kept well. It has a good view of the river and has the pulse of city life. No entry fees is charged.
Not really maintained but very clean though
I find this place very serene and peaceful. Do visit here if youre in Rajwada area. There is not entry fee.
Good to spend some time. Crowded, so take precautions. Limited parking available.
Nestled on the banks of Khan river, these chhatris have gained tremendous popularity for their architectural marvel. These cenotaphs provide a vivid glimpse of Maratha architectural style with domes and spires that leave the tourists awe-inspired by their grandeur. The Krishnapura Chhatris was constructed in the memory of Holkar rulers during the late 1800s. There is a total of 3 chhatris among which the first one is dedicated to Maharani Holkar and the remaining two were built as a tribute to Maharaja Tukoji Rao Holkar II and Shivaji.
Krishna Pura Chhatris are group of cenotaphs of various Holkar rulers !! Featured with excellent architectural marvel of the Maratha-style domes and pyramidal spires, these Chhatris are Located on the banks of the Khan river !!When lit during the night, they offer a breath-taking spectacle that is enjoyed by dozens of people every evening, either from across the river or outside these cenotaphs !!

No Cleanness, not a good place for family people
Nice historical place but not maintained by the govt. And can be better beautiful of govt would show some interest in them and start the temple.
Need visitor management and more cleanliness of premises.
Historic preservation of the most popular and I have a great enjoyment of this planet🌍
Krishna pura chatri and chatri bagh are same place
This place is Cool and good to seat for some minutes
An ancient structure or perhaps monument.... The beautiful carvings and elegant statues makes this place worth a visit....A place dedicated to hindu gods and goddesses.... Perhaps a very popular pilgrimage in the past.... Though, lack of preservation and hygiene is a major concern in the present scenario ....
Superb view . I love indore ....
Good that is historical place
