This was our first experience at Provision. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere and overall experience. The food was subpar for the price. My partner got the special which was a snapper with pork belly and I got the chicken dinner. Both entrees had a very bland taste with little flavor. The sides were fairly small for shareable portions but did have much more flavor than the entrees. The drinks were strong and generously poured. The donut dessert was definitely a good choice and brought a lot of sweet and rich flavors. We were impressed with the presentation of the meals but probably would not return.
Ate dinner on the deck midweek, $200 for 3 people, so not inexpensive. As such, I have a higher expectation for this venue. Generally, it met or exceeded most. Water glasses were promptly filled & dirty dishes removed quickly. Meals were tasty and interesting, as were drinks, wine selections and desserts. Our server was excellent. Why not 5 stars - no ice with water, they charge for bread, all meals were not served at the same time, and no employee in the restaurant wore a mask.
My first experience at Provision was definitely sub par. The food had unique taste, but it was soured by the service we experienced. Our waiter got our orders messed up, sent us the wrong food, and sent us duplicates of dishes. To make it worse, we found plastic from a piping bag in our food, and even the manager voluntarily apologized to us. I hope this is not the usual experience, and I will be open to trying Provision again. Perhaps it was a busy/stressful night for staff, but that left my group and myself on the unlucky end.
Went here to celebrate a birthday and the restaurant is very good. We started with Bread and Mushroom Tart as our appetizers. They were both delicious. We had a vegetarian roasted vegetables with plantain puree as our entree which was off the menu. I would definitely recommend it. Our dessert was the chocolate tart which was also tasty. We will surely be back.
Had our 30th anniversary dinner tonight and the meal and service were outstanding. Wagyu beef apps were delicious and the beet salad was light and flavorful. Our waiter made the evening very special with his attention to detail. We enjoyed a smoked salmon amuse bouche and had dessert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. Really enjoyed the evening and appreciate the pleasant young man waiting our table.
We had a reservation for our friends engagement dinner. The food, drinks are service were superb, especially given the fact that it was busy and there were a lot of us. I think we ordered everything on the menu. All the apps and sides were delicious and my steak was seasoned & cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend provision for any occasion!
Had a very disappointing experience at Provision on August 1. Most of the dishes we ordered were decently prepared, but the sterile environment and the lack of attention to detail when it mattered most left us dissatisfied and we will not return to this restaurant. My wife has a garlic sensitivity and made our server aware of this. Our server specifically said, “I’ll write ‘no garlic’ on your order.” When the dishes arrived, her scallops with root vegetables had garlic clove shavings unmistakably in and among the root vegetables. We pointed this out to our server. “Yes. That’s a lot of garlic,” she said, and took the dish. The rest of our table had warm dishes, and not wanting them to get cold while we waited, the others began eating. When the corrected dish was delivered, with the obligatory, “I’m very sorry about that,” the rest of us were nearly finished.By the time we received our check, there was absolutely no acknowledgement from our server nor the manager of how such a lack of attention to detail disrupted our dining experience. It simply was not enjoyable. No adjustment to the check, as part of the cost is for the level of service they suggest, and no word of meaningful apology from management came at any point. This just wasn’t the dining experience Provision projects, nor that their prices command. They advertise themselves as a “high-end pick.” We did not receive the high-end service that we paid for, and we will eat elsewhere when we’re in the Keystone area.
The appetizers, main course, side, desserts, and drink my wife and I ordered were excellent. The combinations of flavors for each dish were interesting and impressive. The chefs first bite was a very nice touch. Tater totters were a bit salty for our taste but still good. The wait staff was exceptional - anticipated everything we wanted before we asked and timed the courses perfectly. Our water glasses never made it below half full. Absolutely plan on returning.
I mean I cant say enough about this place. Tabitha is an AMAZING server. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is photo ready, and the service is 5 star. Ive never been disappointed after several visits here. Theyve made every visit memorable from my graduation, my anniversary, to a casual Sunday night out. Definitely recommend.
I went out to dinner with colleagues from work. The food was good. Outdoor seating is excellent if weather is right and the outside section is covered if it is not. Would go back. Have heard they have a good tasting menu.
We ordered 5 different dishes from the menu and all were alright. Nothing bad and nothing special. One of them had very strong truffle oil so don’t order that one. Service is normal too, no special attention given but also not a lack of attention. Not going to return but we checked off another Cunningham Group Restaurant from our list so there’s that.
Food, excellent. Service, top notch.Sit outside if the weather is nice.
Food and atmosphere was delightful. We loved the oysters and lamb. However we waited over an hour to be seated, with a reservation which was frustrating because we already had a late reservation, 8:45pm and then didn’t get seated until 10pm. We totally understand that people sit longer than expected but it seems like we were forgotten as when we finally walked to our table, there were several tables open (without covid signs). Our server was really sweet and kind and we ordered a couple of drinks out in the lobby while we waited which were great! I finally found a place in Indy that serves egg white in cocktails. Will totally come here again but will know better and check into the host stand more often and to sit in a more prominent spot in the waiting area.
Went to dinner to celebrate my fiances last day of school (shes a teacher). The service was fantastic. I cant remember the servers name but he was great. The food was amazing. Overall, just a fantastic experience. Oh and Danica Patrick was dining there too so you know its good. Thanks for the great dining experience!
Great Date nite, date lunch, just always good meal with my spouse. Sat outside of bar (outside) on nice early sat eve and enjoyed being grownups.Only thing close to a miss was the business of our server. While she was attentive, she forgot a couple easy requests we chalked up to managing alot of tables.
One day I’ll meet the creative team behind Cunningham group restaurants. Until then I’ll just enjoy the awesome experiences they provide you with each place. I was invited to try provision for a devour girls date, and was pleasantly surprised and impressed with how awesome this location was.Located in the upper level of the iron works restraaunt you will find provision. We were quickly greeted and lead to our table. There is a generous wine list, beers and fun cocktails to choose from. I ended up getting the botanical bubbles which is essentially a French 75, it was very delicious! The devour menu was a great choice because you got a bit of everything. Lamb meatballs to start which had this tasty glaze on top, the main course was tasty tortellinis with goat cheese.Dessert was a chocolate tart that came on top of potatoes chips. The salty contrast from the sweet chocolate was a delightful contrast. Cunningham group does it again! Can’t wait to go back
Got the salmon and sea bass. Both dishes were ok. The salmon had a seeded coating that overpowered the fish. Was I eating an everything bagle? The sea bass was good the beans it was served in was not. The risotto was awful dont order. They also serve luke warm water to drink not a fan could have at least chilled it being it was 80 degrees outside. The atmosphere was wonderful.
This is a great amazing restaurant but service was bad. Our waiter was horrible she didn’t have the decency to talk about us in private but we could literally see her. If this is the service here I would never come again so rude. I was disgusted she did not meet our expectations and the bartender was horrible.
Great experience! From the host to the end of the meal, Provision provided an exceptional experience. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating and seemed to be genuinely interested in being of service. When youre paying as much as you are, that should absolutely be the case, but a lot of times, it is not. Fortunately Provision staff members are all knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. The food... Tried the 6 course Chefs Menu to try a little of everything. It was a great decision! Every plate was beautifully presented and the tastes were delicious. There was nothing basic about any of it, but it still ended up that everything was familiar. Everything was super fresh and I couldnt have been happier with the meal and experience.
Valentines dinner! First course of starters included Tuna Tartare and the assorted bread basket. Main course: Steaks were PERFECTLY flavored and cooked. In addition to the steaks we tried the ham wrapped asparagus and potato bacon terrine. Dessert was a sugar cream pie with ice cream. It was heavenly!
We celebrated our anniversary at Provision tonight. We have been here many times, but tonight was out best experience yet! Ainsley gave us top-notch service and the food was perfect. From the appetizers through dessert and even the cocktails, everything was wonderful. We can’t wait to get back!
Went here for my wifes birthday and it was just ok. The hotel and restaurant is beautiful. The atmosphere is very nice and what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. The service was also excellent. As for the food it was just alright and we felt nowhere near worth the price. Cunningham restaurants are some of our favorite with Stone Creek standing out from all the rest. This place is nowhere near it in quality, value and overall experience.
Realllllllyyy good. Everything we gad was amazing. Only problem was the steak we had was under then over cooked but they fixed it for us.
Wow! The food was exquisite. This place was off the charts...everything from the delightful hummus appetizer, to the incredible way they seared the scallops, to the heavenly banana ice cream accompanying the peanut butter chocolate dessert. Chef Aaron Bender personally visited our table to ensure our food was satisfactory. A delight for all the senses. Cant recommend this place highly enough!
The atmosphere was lively! The bar tender and waitresses were wonderful. The appetizers and dinner was delicious
The food is amazing but the people are even better. Dupree was our waiter and I have never had better service. Gisel bused our table with humor, care and real enjoyment that made our dinner better than we could have anticipated. This is experiential dinning at its finest. If you want a great atmosphere, amazing food and the best service visit Provision.
My husband and I visited for our anniversary and it was a wonderful experience! I love the atmosphere and decor and the service was great! As far as the food goes, I was very pleased with everything. Since this was our first visit, we decided to share everything. I really liked their Old Fashioned, very smooth, sweet, and warm and spicy because of the cinnamon stick. The charred shrimp with avocado and curry was delicious, the shrimp are huge and have that perfect char flavor. We also tried the oyster chowder which was vey good, too, creamy and thick, and filling! For the entree, we ordered the pork chop, and at 14 oz it was plenty for us to share. It was the only part of our meal that we felt fell a little flat. It was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked, but compared to everything else we sampled, it just didnt have that wow factor. However, the side we ordered to go with it was our favorite! The potato-bacon terrine was so delicious, I would probably be tempted to just order that in place of a traditional entree the next time we go! The potatoes were perfectly cooked and it had that wonderful smoky flavor from the bacon. The red pepper sauce on top had just the perfect little hint of spice. The server said its their most popular, and I can understand why! For dessert, we had the Indiana Sugar Pie with Turkish coffee ice cream. It was VERY sweet, so if youre not a big sweets person, Id recommend something else. I personally liked it, I think paired with the coffee ice cream it was excellent.
Ambiance is nice, staff is friendly...cocktail was amazing- had the Kentucky Gold. 2nd time coming...I hate to say this, but the food was just ok for me. Perhaps my palate just isnt sophisticated enough to appreciate whats going on here, lbvs. I had the short ribs. Everything was prepared nicely but not seasoned enough to my liking. If I have to ask for salt & pepper, yikes! I should have chosen a less fatty meat, couldnt handle the texture of all the fat. They say 3 times a charm. Ill give it one more visit.
My husband and I went here for an early anniversary celebration before heading on our anniversary trip. Our food was absolutely delicious all the way around. The mushrooms were recommended, but weren’t all that great. However, every other dish completely made up for it. Finally, on top of the food being delicious, our waitress was superb. She provided some of the best customer service I’ve ever received anywhere. She was friendly and attentive without being annoying! I definitely recommend and we will return soon!
The food was ok but over priced for the amount youre served. Ive eaten at many 5 star restaurants and never left hungry. Our server was rude and refused to wear a mask while talking over our beverages and food. This was my 2nd time but I see no need in returning.
Excellent restaurant. Very good cuisine and service. Highly recommend.
We went to Provision for dinner after our movie. We did the tasting menu. The dishes were all good for the most part. The duck was really tough & I got a large piece of gristle in my steak. They also dont have any non-alcoholic cocktails on their menu, which is always a disappointment. But the atmosphere was nice & our waiter was very nice. They were kind enough to substitute a shrimp 1st course for my husband who is allergic to oysters. They did attempt a mocktail for me but it was still primarily pineapple juice.
Phenomenal anniversary dinner! Everything was delicious but the tuna tartare and scallops were outstanding. Really beautiful place. We loved it and will be coming back!
Always love coming here. Great experience and food plus amazing service. Will definitely be back
I was dining there yesterday and I’ve been there before, it’s never been so awful like yesterday! The food was not even close to being good, everything took forever to be ready and also I told our waitress to use my VIP cunningham rewards card and she didn’t even charged the points!!!
It is ridiculous that a restaurant, with an outdoor patio, in a dog-friendly hotel, does not allow a dog
Held our client appreciation holiday dinner at Provision. The food was delicious, staff was friendly and personable. The building and space are just as impressive. They even have options for those with dietary restrictions, that actually tasted amazing. I never get to have dessert, so I was very appreciative of their thoughtfulness for everyone in our party.
My steak was delicious abd I didnt have to ask for A1 Sauce for flavor. John our waiter was awesome
Well for starters even though there were tables we were not allowed to sit on that becos of reservations( however as soon as I pointed out I was given a table). Then I was treated as a low life customer even though I ordered the most expensive stuff per the waiter’s recommendation. There was a “fly” in my cocktail and when I pointed to manager and complained about my experience he was angry because I complained and threw my $199 bill disregarding my complaint!! I was called a person who was wrong to call out the people who disrespected me and didn’t have decency to acknowledge me!!!All the othe mr good reviews are probably paid fir by the restaurant!
First time there. Nice experience and food was great. Please keep your busgirls, they were very sweet and polite. :)
Every single thing on the menu, from appetizers to entrees, to drink selections are absolutely amazing. My wife and I ordered every appetizer along with our meal and they were so flavorful and decadent. We love this place!
Those with food allergies beware. So, the atmosphere, waitstaff, and general selection is fantastic. The food we received was great. However, the descriptions of the items on the menu don’t really tell you what you’re ordering. I selected chicken and was given what looks like chicken wrapped in bacon? It was good, but had they snuck jalapeños in there too things would have gone bad. Also, heads up that red sauce is spicy. My uncle ordered salmon and was given salmon totally encrusted in seeds. He cannot eat seeds and nowhere on the menu did it say it would be encrusted. It would be a five star dining experience if you traded the “stylish” 5 word descriptions for longer ones that explained what people were actually ordering.
Absolutely Amazing!!!!! Everything..... Just Wow! Thank You!
Been here several times, the food is artfully made, and delicious. Wait staff are courteous and professional. Drinks are seasonal, well made, and with good variety.
I am not sure I have ever left a restaurant review but felt compelled to leave one here. My son and I were guests at the Ironworks hotel and ordered dinner from Provision. Not only was the server fabulous and attentive, the food was out of this world. We had the salmon and NY strip along with several sides. Unique flavors paired perfectly. Hands down one of the best meals we have ever had. We will be back for sure!
Provision is one of our favorite newer restaurants on the far north side. A part of the Cunningham family with excellent day-to-day management, we always know we are going to get a first-rate dining experience. Excellent cocktails and appetizers (the crab toast is amazing) - with a very detailed farm-to-table entree menu. And the Ironworks hotel is a real bright spot in the north side hotel scene. Provision is a must if you are in this area.
UPDATE: 2019. We went back for our 7th anniversary and Provision may have actually gotten better. Tip 1: Ask for Todd. Hes one of the greatest servers weve ever encountered and we will always request his area from now on. Tip 2: Order anything. They dont do anything wrong. This is a new Indianapolis front runner for top restaurant. The atmosphere and design live up to the name Ironworks with a rustic modern feel. We went for our anniversary and everyone made sure to take time to tell us Happy Anniversary. Our waiter was charming, smart, and well prepared. She knew the latest dinner and cocktail menu very well. The food was obviously prepared and created by a professional chef. From the beet salad with the fermented garlic honey reduction to the perfectly cooked steak and pork chop to the creamy potatoes every bite was fantastic. Go here..and often.
Wonderful restaurant, amazing staff! I called in to see if I could pick up a free meal for Veterans Day so I could surprise my fiance at work. They were so sweet and helpful, and he was absolutely blown away by the food. Everyone in Indy should eat here at least once!
The food was good but way over priced. Be prepared to spend upwards of $100 per plate with drinks and tip.
Great place! Fun drinks! Fantastic service!
Tabitha is an attentive and personable server. She was always available for ammediate assistance with the meal and drink menu. She provided exceptional service throughout the night. I cant recommend a better server. I will definitely request her for our next reservation. 5 star service.
Tried to make a reservation for a party of 20 people a month in advance. The manager is not willing to work with a group this big on a weekend, unless willing to do an entire buyout. Very disappointing.
Lisa McGuire is Indianapolis’s best server.
The service was friendly, the atmosphere was sleek and open with high wood panel ceilings. They also have a terrace w/ a fireplace and couches. Food was excellent! We had the Lobster Dumpling for an appetizer. I ordered the snapper which was slightly overcooked in parts, but the seared-top crust was flavorful and the fish was fresh. My friend ordered the Wagyu Ribeye which is equivalent to Kobe beef, only healthier. It has a high degree of marbling comprised of flavor, tenderness, and fat (the good kind)! My new fav!!!
Always top notch service & food
It is hard to find good restaurants in Indianapolis that can cook fish well. We really liked hake which had very crispy outside but very fluffy inside. The risotto that came with hake was also very good. They did a great job not overpowering with salt or spices. We will definitely go back there again. Service was also excellent with heling specific requests for our 2-year old. Only one potential improvement area would have been carpaccio where meat was stuck to the plate indicating that the beef was sliced a while back and sat in a friege. Other than that every dish was great. Keep up the good work.
Atmosphere, food and service were all wonderful. They do have valet parking, but there is only one person so you may have to wait for a couple minutes.
The food was amazing. The staff was wonderful. I cant wait to return.
Fantastic food and service
The food was creative and delicious. Great experience in every way!
Excellent chef tasting menu with perfectly paired wines
The food was amazing!! As were the drinks! We couldnt find anything about it we didnt enjoy.
We really enjoyed, once we were acknowledged.. and seated. {Important things first} I did not like when we arrived, we were standing to be acknowledged to be seated to eat a little long. There was a lady, {an employee} sitting right to the side of us, folding napkins, but would not even look at us, to say someone will be right w/ you. When someone did come up, they did say they had reservations for mothers day still, {meaning they were booked} which was fine, but slowly mention.. the bar is open. {Like it was not said right away at all} we were going to leave. I believe it was maybe a manager that mentioned it. {a women}When we were seated, thank goodness the bartender person, was a lot better, much better vibe, and the gentleman that was seated down from us, gave us some food suggestions. The food was actually outstanding, very tasteful. Its a shame I could not give five stars, but PROVISIONS EMPLOYEES should also treat EVERYONE THE SAME, {as they treat others}.
I can not begin to explain what an amazing surprise Provision was. Fabulous industrial chic decor (being part of iron works) with a cool, busy atmosphere. Pork chop, salmon ( even better than it looked) and tortellini oh my. Please save room for dessert it was to die for. I insisted on eating both nights while I was here. Cant wait to come back.
Unfortunately, service was very disappointing and lacked the attention needed for dinning at a $50/plate type of establishment. Food was okay to good. But heavy handed w/ the seasoning of the food with herbs and sauces that just completely hid all the natural flavors that could have been. The noise level was also crazy loud. If youre looking for a nice place along these lines for dinner, Id whole heartily suggest you drive 3min to Eddie Merlots up off 96th St or Ruth Chris across the parking lot. The setup & decor is beautiful; just sad that the experience was so bad. I will return in 4-6weeks to see if they can update their score.
Kinda messed up an order, but great meal makes it worthy
The Snapper I got was very delicious. Tried a couple of the sides too including the tater tots and cauliflower with creamed spinach and they were both excellent as well.
Great food and atmosphere!!
The service was impeccable.Atmosphere soothing. FoodWas superb
Has been consistently good on the multiple occasions we have been there. A couple times we have gone with our kids and they were very accommodating and kept the service moving which helps avoid kid meltdowns. But when weve gone sans kids for occasions like our anniversary we loved spending more time indulging in the tasting menu. The portions are good size on either menu. Some of our favorites are the crab toast, the waygu which is often on the tasting menu, the peanut butter bombe for dessert or the cheesecake.
Good food!
Beautiful restaurant. Steak cooked to perfection. Bold and interesting flavors.
They have drink specialties and I tried a vodka cucumber special which was delicious for $12. We ordered appetizers to share. Food came out quickly. Each plate was artistically prepared with interesting and delicious sauces. I tried five different dishes and loved each one. The tuna tartare atop fried rice cakes was the most memorable and one I craved the next day.
Make sure you make reservations. You can always trust a Cunningham Group restaurant. The service and food were fantastic. Bartenders are very skilled and knowledgeable. The moose level can be a bit high, but the space is very cool.
