Good solid Indian food. For some reason my friends decided we should eat in the parking lot, since wed ordered it for takeout, even though the workers assured us that it was perfectly fine for us to come inside. My friends are weird. It was still tasty.

I would have left zero stars if I could. I called to see if they were serving lunch buffet and the woman on the phone started accusing me of calling twice with the same question and never actually answered my question. I assured her that I never called her restaurant before. This person was so rude and unkind … and what reason would I have to call the same restaurant with the same question more than one time?? I’m not sure how one can run a successful restaurant and be so unkind and rude to a potential new customers. I recommend the owners invest in a much needed training on basic customer service before they run out of customers. I suggest you take your hard-earned money to a restaurant who will show you common respect and decency at “hello”.

Me and the bestie went here for her birthday. Its a favorite and weve been coming for years. There is no buffet at this time but they have a vegan and non vegan offer that gives you a taste of several of their favorites in one dish at a very reasonable price.

My service was a little slow. Though it wasnt my servers fault as she was swamped. The food tasted well enough, but when I asked for spicy (vindaloo, which should be spicy regardless), I was rather disappointed to receive a dish with heat comparable to mayonnaise. The garlic naan was wonderful.

What happened to India Palace?!? I loved going to this place but now is horrible! Only two other people there when I visited for dinner so I guess people are fed up with this place. The food came out super hot like it had been microwaved. It tasted terrible. Service was no better! The place smelled like mechanical grease (thats the only way I can describe it). Trust me! Go anyplace else.

I used to be an extremely regular customer. The quality went down a few years ago, and I didnt visit as frequently. Since delivering for UberDoorGrub, Ive picked up a few orders from there, noticed the new decor, and thought perhaps they deserved a second chance.This evening, as I was coming in to pick up a delivery order, there was one couple seated in the restaurant near the bar. There was no one else in the restaurant. I got a couple steps away from the bar when the manager burst out of the kitchen and shouted at me to sit down. I was a bit taken aback, and said sorry, Im actually here for a delivery order. Its coming, have a seat! At this point, I was truly confused why he was shouting at me. He saw my confusion and asked if I understood what he was saying. I said yes sir, I understand exactly what youre saying, but... And then he cut me off for a third time and told me to have a seat.Instead, I told him that I didnt care for the aggression that he greeted me with and that I would find someone else to deliver the order from his restaurant. I also will not be returning to this restaurant as a customer to spend my own money.

I moved away from Indy in 2013. I used to dine here and loved the food. I keep hearing and seeing bad reviews. I want to come back to eat here next time in Indy.

One of my favorite haunts for lunch. The buffet has a nice variety of Indian cuisine at a phenomenal price. But ladies the renovation is exquisite. Bathroom is immaculate, dining decor is amazing. You will just have to GO AND ENJOY

I ordered the food from this place on DoorDash. I got the lamb vindaloo and it was not spicy at all. It was barely warm. There was no meat literally split the dish in half and found like 3 pieces of lamb the rest was potato. I paid for lamb I would like some lamb. The garlic naan surprisingly was even bland. Not impressed at all.

Food was good,restroom was VERY clean but service could be a little better. Our waitress was pretty forgetful and seemed to have a bit of an attitude. She was a lot happier when the check came out.

This place used to be good especially when they had the buffet going before COVID, but now they have gotten stingy and it’s become overpriced subpar food. You pay $15 for a sad cup of watered down curry with barely any meat. Even the ambience of the place is sad. You go in and it’s dark, probably because they want to be cheap and save money on the light bill and the hostess out on the floor looks dead inside. I honestly feel like I got robbed. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.

BIG NO! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! We did our reception in the Banquet Hall which is right beside the restaurant. They messed up big time, misplaced our wedding cake, food was terrible. When I confronted about the cake, they just brushed me off saying they cant do anything. No apology, refund or explanation on how my wedding cake went missing. Tried several times to contact manager, I was always told he wasnt there.

If i knew about service I would never go there. Very expensive very very and service is very bad. Staff is not really welcoming. The food is just ok. Tea is very very very very expensive. The cup size is to small . Guys plz dnt waste your money in bad restaurant.

This place used to be good, but not anymore. The service is horrible, especially the hostess. There is no sense of customer service. Last time I ordered Goat Biriyani and Chicken Pakora. Both items were inedible. The biriyani was soggy for no apparent reason, and had zero taste to it. And the chicken pakora was tasteless as well. Will not be ordering food from here again.The restaurant India Sizzling 2 across the street is way better.

For indian people, the food is really nothing special, being panjabi myself, I feel I can cook alot better than them,and I dont consider myself a good cook. The service is awful!. The waitress has no sense of customer service whatsoever. we ordered a non veg thali, a veg thali and fish pakodas. The pagodas were dry and bland and it didnt taste like.fish at all. they dishes in the thalis were too runny for the gravy ones and the naanwas dry. When we mentioned that to the waitress, she responded very rudely and said theres nothing she can do about it. dont go.here to.waste your money.

It took 1 hour and 25 minutes to get our food and there was only 3 other tables being served. Our waitress had a lot of attitude when we asked how much longer she would say stop asking it will be ready when I bring it out till then stop asking.

Nothing special here. Ordered take out. The pakora was soggy by the time I got home, but that was expected. We ordered medium spice level on both main dishes, but there was no spice to be found. Flavor was otherwise just okay. The menu online is a bit confusing. We thought rice and naan came with every dish, but I think that was probably just for lunch.

Probably had take out 10 times from here. Sometimes its really good, sometimes its not good...dishes are different each time. The Lamb Vindaloo tastes like Ragu more than a spicy Indian dish.

Pretty good buffet. I have been about 4 times and my experience has been pretty consistent. For buffet and drink I usually spend about $13. The food is fresh and most of the buffet items taste pretty well. The chicken Tiki and Naan are some of my favorites.

I hadnt been to India Palace in several years, so I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful remodel. The entire restaurant was spotless, wait staff was even washing windows before the place filled up. The buffet was filled with hot, fresh items, many of which were unique to this restaurant, in my experience of the area. My waitress was flawless, my glass was never empty and the plates were cleared. I overheard her correctly reciting a regular tables unusual drink order before theyd even been seated. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, and cant wait to go back.

I bought tikki chat from this so called indian restaurant in the hope of it would be great unfortunately it was a mistake trying this from here. I would have given 0 review if there was an option. Anyways all the best if you want to experiment it from here.

I love this place! The staff are friendly and service is on point! My water never was empty and barely below half during the meal. All of the items that I ordered were plentiful and very tasty with so much flavor. The cost was higher than expected, but the value is still within the standard range. I am and will continue to be a repeat customer.

They have the absolute best buffet available in Indianapolis. I had a lunch buffet and it was one of the best buffet. They had over 40 items and everything was amazing. I could not taste all but all the items I picked for my plate were delicious. The waiter who greeted us and took to our table was amazing too. Some Indian restaurant especially south Indian restaurant tends to have a higher amount of masala on their dishes but let me just say they had all the authentic spices perfectly blended with the dishes. I actually got the original flavor and aroma. The goat curry on the buffet was the best Goat curry I have ever had in the USA and I have tested over 50 Indian restaurants. Thank you for the amazing hospitality and delicious food.

This place has a small buffet but is worth every penny. Food is fresh and well prepared. You will not be disappointed going here. The dining area is clean and very well managed. Also has a menu you can order from if looking for just a straight meal.

Me and my two boys have been coming here for almost 10 years and it is simply our favorite Indian place!!! It so sooooo good and fresh!

The owner was disrespectful and unhelpful when my best friend got married here. The banquet hall was dirty but the owner did nothing to help prepare it for the ceremony. The parents of the bride resorted to doing it themselves, including fixing the ceiling tiles and scrubbing the tables.

My husband and I rented the banquet hall for our Indian/American fusion wedding. The owner talks pretty, but doesnt deliver. He gave us dirty tables, and not enough of them. He turned the lights off on my decorator in the middle of the day. My sweet mother was cleaning the room for two days because the hall was DIRTY and the owner refused to help or send employees to help. I wish we would have gone anywhere else, because the way the owner treated my mother was unforgivable.

New management and new interior. Food is just as good. Not sure I like the buffet setup as you can get trapped at the wall as new diners work their way in but I cant argue about the food. Old loyalty punch cards no longer honored but I dont hold it against them. New loyalty cards are available.

The interior design really looked different, the type of different I personally have a feel for!!! I really appreciated the staff and their friendliness too!!! Friend had a wedding in the banquet hall and it was truly a nightmare. The place was disgusting, dirty, and had chewed gum everywhere???? Not to mention just straight up missing tiles in the ceiling? I ordered through door dash so I cant comment on the service (hence 4 stars). But the food was absolutely amazing! The first time I ever tried Indian food was while visiting some Canadian friends. And so far this has held up to be just as amazing!Generous portions with the chicken dish I ordered, and the garlic naan was made really well.Will definitely order from them again!

Food was fine, but the staff is incredibly unhelpful and uncooperative when you reserve their banquet hall. We had a ton of trouble setting up, when we arrived the space was not clean and they we not happy with the fact we were there before the event to actually clean and set up. All in all, a terrible experience setting up and hosting an event there.

The have both vegetarian and meat options if you choose. The buffet is decent and kept up well - which is important.The service is fast and they servers are really polite and helpful. The place is clean and has a nice ambience.The only thing that bites me is the cost of the experience. It shocked me that I paid almost 14$ for a lunch buffet, with a fountain drink - to include tip.Otherwise all who enjoy a different flavor should seek this place out at least once.Enjoy

This restaurant truly deserves 0 rating. The food is salty and average and customer service is the worst. I was sampling the food before I was going to eat and one of servers was yelling at me for eating the food near the buffet stall. Saying something like the food will go to waste because I am eating there. Never go here. Worst af!

Friend of mine had a wedding there recently. The place was disgusting. Gum stuck on tables and the floor, tables were filthy and stained. The staff refused to help clean up.

A very clean calm with a touch of elegance Indian food buffet thats so devine tasty and scrumptious. The waiters are so polite and always there to refill your drinks ask if theres anything you need all for a very very affordable price I absolutely love this place.

I always feel like the staff are busy or engaged, but never with me. It seems to be training-related as it is almost always below average.For takeout? Cant miss. Dine-in...only for lunch buffet have I been pleased with the service when my expectations were low.Make your service as good as the food and Ill raise this a star.

My husband and I travel for a living . Whenever were in town we eat at the buffet. The food is always delicious fresh wonderfully priced. 21.$ we eat like kings. Great service beautiful environment and great location. My mouth and tongue are very happy and my stomach loves it.

A space of calming atmosphere and a particularly good menu. Chicken Curry was outstanding, Lamb Vindaloo, and the rice pudding was as good as the pistachio ice cream. I will go back again next week.

Its tucked away in a bit of an odd location and their sign only had the A in India lit up which makes it look dingy. Its nicely decorated inside, great Hall for birthday parties, engagements, small gatherings. The staff isnt the best so you have to be a good planner and assertive if you want to get things done which isnt a problem if your Indian anyway.

Its a nice looking restaurant with mostly decent food. The spice is barely noticeable so no need to shy away from the place discarding it as that Indian place that gives me diarrhea. Although spicy food lovers like myself may not find it to be the best place, it is the better one among the bunch of Indian restaurants in Lafayette road. Taste may vary based on day of the week and the cook in the kitchen is what I hear from my friends so take my review with a grain of salt.

India Palace is a good restaurant. I should learn more about the items on their menu. I had trouble deciding what to order. On my next visit I should order the buffet. This would help me to learn more about their menu items.

Very good food. Less spicy with heat than most India food Ive had, but very flavorful. Good variety of dishes with fairly extensive alcohol selection for many independent restaurants, but they do have an in-house bar. Catering is available & they have a special area for events.

Stopped in for the lunch buffet. Was first customer and went to the hot buffet table and saw bugs crawling on the table. Immediately left. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Don’t come here if you’re black. They treat you like second rate citizens. I tried to bring my mom to this place to have her try something different and they kept watching us like we were criminals or something. We paid for a buffet so I don’t think three of 4 trips to the buffet is out of the question. My mom actually liked one particular dish so I ordered it on Door Dash so I could use my coupon for pickup. Oh my god....you would have thought I insulted their mother. He refused to give me the food even though it was paid for. I have to contact customer service to get a refund. He said something along the lines of you can’t order for an app and dine in at the same time. Says who. Black people beware. Go to another Indian restaurant. These people are just vile human beings and I will never recommend this place to my worst enemy.
