A great place to spend a peaceful evening

A historical place and an important venue for the city of Imphal. But this place is very poorly maintained by the city administration. The waterfall inside the campus need serious cleaning and the park remains dirty.

A good light evening kind of park. Grass area is there to sit and some static water is there. Avoid that water. Good place for photography.There is a stadium right next to this place.

The imposing Minar of Bir Tikendrajit park standing tall in the eastern side of the Imphal Pologround of the states capital commemorates the indomitable spirit of Manipur martyrs who sacrificed their lives while fighting against the British in 1891.

It is quite place to rest for all people who come to Imphal. This place is very nearby to market of Manipur such as Nupi keithel, kwairembel market. Many youngster are come here to have there meeting or data at free of course. Many old people come here to take rest from hot. It is very nice and beautiful place.

Shaheed Minar was built in the memory of martyrs who laid down their lives during the fight against British in the Anglo-Manipur war of 1891. In an attempt to inject fear into the people thereby avoiding any more uprisings for freedom, Yubaraj Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General were hanged at this spot in front of huge public gathering. Around 8,000 women wearing white cloths assembled to show solidarity to the Prince and General.

Situated right at the center of the BT park, this minar or tower was built in commemoration of prince Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal general.Located right at the center of the hustling and bustling Imphal city, you can catch a glimpse of the busy Imphal from the park— maddening crowd of the city and people rushing here and there.The auto stand is right at the backside of the park. The park is open to the public. No entry fees.Nearby attraction — Polo ground, museum and Kangla fort.Nearby shopping areas — Paona Bazaar, Gambhir Singh Arcade and Ema keithel.However, with things littered here and there, this park lacks maintenance. Public should also cooperate and keep this park clean.

Its on the way to Paona bazaar opposite ISTV. Not a big one in size but a popular one among locals. Go with your friends and family and have fun time.
