Just Awsome place...we just checked this place without much expectation, but it was a heaven in the evening sunset... 😍😍 Not crowded.... Ambient space inside, but car parking is little bit difficult as cars is not allowed to enter inside..

Super climate, fantstic views of kerala and Tamilnadu. You must be lucky enough to enjoy the view. Because always misty area so view is always hidden by the mist.

Very nice place to go

The view, as mentioned by many, is the best I could get in Thekkady.The watch tower itself could have been better built and preserved.The treehouse at the bottom of the tower is a fun climb for the kids.The cellphone towers do spoil the fun a bit as it stops us from getting a 360 degree view. But hey, its a lot better than any other view we could get.Lucky that I caught the sun while I was there, as I could see for over 20 miles in almost all directions.Worth a drive definitely..

Its an off-road destination. Please use a four-wheel jeep or bike to the destination. There is a beautiful watchtower for the riders and visiters.

Its a nice place to visit while near Thekkady in Idukki District. We are able to see the surrounding areas including the Periyar Lake, Mangaladevi hills, hills in Tamilnadu and protected forest areas in Thekkady and surroundings from the watch tower here in a 360° view.The roads to the location from the Munnar- Kumily Highway is also far better now.

Get a glimpse of Idukki and the surrounding forests hills. Nice view. The road leading to place is steep. We travelled by a sturdy jeep. There is parking facility.

Holds good view of places around. And is best in summer. But it lacks basic necessities like a restroom etc..

Ottakathalamedu is the place well known for its trucking and high altitude view points.. You can enjoy the greenery of highrange by climbing the watchtower.. You need to take the road from Amaravathi(1st mile) to get there..But the road is in very bad condition..The road is too narrow and chances of facing accidents are on upscale.

Its an unknown unexplored place.... Tourists can come to spent an evening.... Some local people provide provision for camp fire too

From here we can see most of the part of Kumily and thekkady..the main attraction is the view of the mullaperiyar reservoir

Nothing much to see here. Theres just a tower and the place around isnt even clean. You dont see people around here. You can reach here by Jeep and thats the best option as the roads are a bit tricky.

This is a nice tourist attraction. This place is usually crowded, because of the great views. You can have a nice evening walk to the viee piont. Worth visiting.

The best place to chill if u want to be alone in a watch tower,..make sure u have a moped or a bike.else ull need a Jeep .best time for sunset around 5-6

Overall the place is good . We got a nice view of periyar river . One problem find it was the watch tower is not well painted and smut and pornography are on the walls,so that it makes some distress to family members. I really a picture drawn by someone of chegueavera.

Nice tower location but not safety..

The view from the tower was good but roads are bad and you need to get a jeep or SUV to get to the place. Very few people come to the place as the maintenance is average. Not advisable to come during the night and to bring kids.

Ottakathalamedu is accessible point near thekkedy, connected in thekkedy programme by jeep safari. We can enjoy the magnificent view of Tamil nadu, periyar lake and kumily region. Ottakathalamedu is accessible for both four wheeler and two wheelers.

The ottakathala watch tower, which is one of the topest area in Kumily and where we get a beautiful Sean of landscape also we could enjoy a distant Sean of Magaladevi temple. The best time for visiting here is between 6 to 8 in te morning and after 4pm meanwhile we get a very beautiful Sean of thekkadi and Kumily.
