Indian cuisine encompasses a wide variety of regional cuisines native to India. Given the range of diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines vary significantly from each other and use locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Almost all states have their unique recipes. Traditional foods are often based on a holistic approach to nutrition, as required by local people. Such food is prepared with locally available ingredients and found to have its own therapeutic and nutritional benefits. However, no fixed National cuisine may not have emerged but some pan-Indian trends are visible. Out of them, one such cuisine style which is very popular is Punjabi cuisine, has been undoubtedly responsible to a great extent for promoting the love for Indian food outside India. It has its roots or I must say influence from the Persians, Afghans, Mongols which has brought about a result consisting of rich & exotic flavours yet earthy as well. Also, you may see, the use of Tandoor is very prominent in the style of cooking & the dishes are really simple & hearty with no unnecessary frills. Although the city of Hyderabad hosts a myriad of cuisines, however, the love for Punjabi food is very close to our hearts owing to the rustic flavours it offers. Situated amidst the IT Hub of the city within Gachibowli area, The Punjabis Swag is an ideal hotspot if one chooses to dine in a place that transports one to the quintessential Pind in Punjab. All of their dishes are curated with the finest of ingredients, fresh herbs & spices, with great attention paid to the recipes to evolve authentic flavours of the cuisine, however, TPS has launched a series of new dishes which are inclined towards providing the patrons with an authentic Dhaba styled experience. From our visit to TPS, we tried out Bhatti da Murgh, Dhaba da Chicken tikka, Angara chicken & dhaba styled chilli chicken. Talking about Dhaba da Chicken Tikka, tandoord chicken chunks tossed in cream & butter with bell peppers & onions, garnished with coriander was an instant hit, packed a truckload of flavours & a highly recommended pick. Even Bhatti da Murgh had a good flavour offering of yoghurt & mustard marination so well infused in the meat layers with the tandoor done perfectly, another recommended pick. Even the dhaba styled chilli chicken was a great one to munch on as it wasnt a regular one, had generous amount of onions, bell pepper, seasoned with garlic, green chillies, ginger and fresh coriander leaves tossed in soy sauce. Onto the Angara Chickken which is a good pick for the spicy food fans, wherein the heat was really well balanced in the marinade on the meat chunks. From the mains, we ordered for dhaba styled butter chicken, dhaba style dal Makhni, Punjabi chicken masala & OG Butter Chicken. Being accustomed to the regular butter chicken, the dhaba styled variant of this dish really amazed us with the spicy, rich colourful gravy with having a hint of the heat from spices with generous amount of butter and their chicken pieces has very smokey flavour paired up with Garlic Naan, making this dish a combo you must not forget to try from the menu. Punjabi Chicken Masala was another star dish which has an influence from the home-styled chicken with onion based gravies, cooked with rich Indian spices till perfection, tasted really good. Even the Dal Makhni couldnt get any better as it took me aback with the flavours it offered. Ending the meal with a glass of Lassi is a tradition which shouldnt be left, this one had a touch of Kesar & Malai topped with generous amount of almonds, thereby making it a happy meal end.Amidst the pandemic situation, TPS is maintaining all the necessary precautions for the dine-in & delivery experience via Swiggy/Zomato with masked personnel all around. Laden with culture, tradition and age-old warmth of Indian hospitality, The Punjabis Swag provides a culinary experience that you will treasure for life.

Food was great value for money. We ordered Delhi ke Parate, which were Delhi styles deep fried parate(3 parate - onion, chilli and aloo), loved onion one. Only complaint was you cant order them individually. chass was ok, was expecting some more salt and jeera powder. Overall great value for money. One last thing the restaurant was a master class on of how to reduce your investment while setting up a restaurant. Used cloth instead of glass/wall, Tubelight were hanging; plates, cutlery and even serving bowls were disposable(may be a carona thing)

----- VEG ONLY REVIEW -----Located near the HP Petrol Pump below the Gachibowli flyover, this place is easily visible from the main road. People coming with cars might have a tough time parking since there is a no dedicated parking for this.>> Ambience :A lot of space to sit, a few cots to sit on and you also have an option of normal chairs and table. There is a live counter where roti is prepared and you will find large posters around which conveys The Punjabi Things. Good Punjabi music is played. Good and comfortable ambience.>> Food :+++ Starters - - - --> Phuljari Kebab : A Veg Hara-Bhara kebab with a crispy covering. A bit dry to eat, served with green chutney. Was a bit oily. Can be tried.-> Honey Chilli Potato : Very crisp potatoes emanating a sweet & spicy taste. Not so great. Can be avoided.-> Masala Papad : 3 pieces of small masala papads served with well garnished spiced chopped onions & tomatoes.-> Amritsari Masala Papad : A medium medium sized, little spicy papad topped with chopped onions and tomatoes.+++ Main Course - - --> Veg Patiala : A medium spicy, red colored, creamy gravy. Veg Patiala harbours a green vegetable mix at the bottom wrapped in a papad. This is definitely a must try if you are fond of curries with creamy gravy. Recommended.-> Veg Kofta : Yellow gravy, creamy with pieces of veg kofta. The koftas are a bit hard and dry. The gravy is good but koftas can be improved.-> Makke di roti & Sarso da saag : Roti was good, but the saag was a little salty. Sarso da saag lacked the original taste and flavor. Can be avoided.+++ Desserts - - --> Gulab Jamun : Like any other gulab jamun sprinkled with finely sliced dry fruits.-> Mango Lassi : Can be tried, its a normal lassi with a subtle flavor of mango. I liked it.-> Bulu Berry Lassi : Tasted like Blue berry yogurt. Sweet and sour. Not my preference, but someone who likes both of these flavors together, can try.Overall its a nice place to have good Punjabi food and not so expensive as well. Should definitely visit this place.----- Date of Visit : 9-Feb-2020 -----

One look at The Punjabis Swag menu is sufficient to give you the goosebumps and to make your stomach roar with appetite! They put amazing north-west frontier food on your plate with all its rich flavors and authentic taste. I had visited this amazing place with a few of my friends, and we had one the most richest experiences. The ambiance of the place is proper dhaba style with live counters for all the different types of breads and their names written on boards in quirky Punjabi language. The seating is ample for all types of gatherings. A unique feature of the restaurant is that they give water absolutely free of cost, no matter how many bottles you drink. Its a very powerful thing. Love it!Every dish was amazing, but my personal favorites are Murgh Reshmi Kebab, Fish Amritsar and Butter Chicken boneless. The curry tastes incredible when paired with Lacha Paratha.FYI, for dine in the place is called THE PUNJBIS SWAG, while on Zomato it is CHAKHH DE PUNJAB. So keep in mind when you order your food or search.

A place serving good food, no beating around the bush with fancy interiors. Just good food and pocket friendly pricing. Try talking to Mr. Sandeep the man behind the great food to customize the food as per your taste buds. One of the things that I really appreciate here is even after being such low on price this place gives you free packaged drinking water which is priced exorbitantly at much costlier places. Try the melt in the mouth perfect kebabs here and also the Sarso Ka Saag and Makke ki roti when available. The curries are equally good.
