Wadi Qadisha “is the“ Holy Valley ”(the word“ Qadisha ”is from the Semitic root“ sacred ”). In this valley there are caves and shelters that were inhabited from the third millennium until the Roman era ....It also contains silos, rock monasteries and churchesUNESCO has classified this valley among the sites on the list of World Heritage for its richness of natural and cultural attractions. Thousands of animal and plant species live in this valley, of which 10% are unique to Lebanon. In addition, the torrential waterfalls fall on the vertical cliffs. From here the Qadisha River originates and flows along the valley until it reaches the sea in Tripoli.
Snow covers the Qadisha Valley (the Holy Valley) in Lebanon, concealing features of a bygone eraThe photo shows the trail formed in the valley and the rugged slopes where the stillness and silence of the mountainsBetween the sides of the valley lies a number of hanging monasteries and silos dating back to the first spread of ChristianityThe valley also has natural caves carved into the slopes of the hills - which are almost inaccessible - decorated with frescoes attesting to the architecture specially designed for the spiritual and energetic needs of a life of austerity. The French poet Lamartine visited him and said about him: No scene made an impression on me like this valley did. This place combines the beauty of lines, the greatness of the peaks, the accuracy of details and the diversity of colors. The name Qadisha goes back to the Semitic roots that mean holiness, as it was one of the symbols of the Maronite Christian community, and it was a destination for Muslims to retreat as well, as the Andalusian traveler Ibn Jubair mentioned when he visited it in the twelfth century. The valley is 1500 meters above sea level, with a depth of about 500 meters, and it is located in the north of the Mount Lebanon Range.📸 Photographed by Kameel RayesSnow covers the Qadisha Valley (the Holy Valley) in Lebanon, concealing features of a bygone eraThe photo shows the trail formed in the valley and the rugged slopes where the stillness and silence of the mountainsBetween the sides of the valley lie a number of hanging monasteries and silos dating back to the first spread of ChristianityThe valley also has natural caves carved into the slopes of the hills - which are almost inaccessible - with frescoes attesting to the architecture specially designed for the spiritual and vital needs of a life of austerity. The French poet Lamartine visited him and said about him: No scene made an impression on me like this valley did. Wonderful
Sweet
Great place to discover nature and its beauty. Several levels and paths for hikers. Avoid restaurants in the valley, its really not good
An excellent place to feel at peace. The nature, the murmur of the water, the freshness all make this valley an exceptional place of calm and beauty. A real haven of peace.
Incredible energy out of the ordinaryI would spend days looking at that magic valley with the sound of the river running down thereMagic
The place is very beautiful nature, but there are villages in Lebanon the most beautiful and densest trees and also more court in terms of restaurants and cafes The view of the area is beautiful The roads are almost rugged The weather in the month of October is beautiful in the mountains Wonderful sunny but does not bear winter clothes
The Qadisha Valley, which is the Valley of the Saints, has been inhabited by hermits and Maronite monks since the first centuries of the spread of Christianity to escape persecution due to its rugged mountain paths, high caves and dense trees. .
Excellent, visit the monasteries, excellent experience, simple routes through the valley, one hundred percent recommended for both adventurous and religious visitors.

A beautiful wadi. A hike is definitely recommended! It is best to bring a lot of time for this, a day or a weekend, for example. The trails are sometimes adventurous, so it is advisable to have a little hiking experience and good shoes. At Bscharri there is a descent along a cable for the fruit harvest (coming from the town center: go over the road at the edge of the Wadi and past a small, abandoned hut on the right. It looks as if you would first walk straight to the abyss). Alternatively, there is a paved road, but it has much less charm. After the descent, the route is actually self-explanatory. Some of the monasteries have guest rooms, drinking fountains or shops with drinks, etc. There are also restaurants from time to time. Ascent options on both sides of the wadi are also sufficient, otherwise simply ask for directions in the monasteries or with other hikers.
The best place
