If u like to trek, adventure, this is one of the best place. Talk to Naresh from kampalapally which is the base village. Either u can trek for 12 kms to this place or come to near by sagar water and park ur vehicle there (road belongs to forest dept. and been very recently made by mud through forest). Possible night camp, take you own tent, do not litter and no non-veg due to temple here. Naresh is the only guy allowed by the village to take tourists to mysterious island. He is an excellent host, unfortunately I couldnt meet him in person but he made all arrangements for myself to go on island. I have just updated his number now so anyone can call in advance for arrangements. Please, atleast 10 ppl at a time will get him some money, so go in numbers. I spoke to him over phone and believe me he is quite a nice person. thank you, Naresh. +916304555317

లAleshwar, situated on the shores of Krishnamma.Field uniqueness known as DakshinakashiEleshwaram, located on the banks of the River Krishna in the southern region, is famous for its village history. The Katyayani Samata Eleshwaraswamy Temple is located on a hill here. Amidst the beauty of nature, the mane is a lion-shaped gorge.►► Temple Highlights:Devotees believe that the Katyayani Eleshwaraswamy Temple is located in the middle of the Nagarjunasagar Reservoir. The festival is celebrated on the day of Mahashivaratri in this temple. Prior to 1962, the first Ekadashi of every year, Mahashivaratri was celebrated for 21 days. The Katyayani Devi Temple on Gutta and the Mallikharjuna Temple on the top of the hill are said to have received rich worship during the Kakatiya period. Inscriptions found in Aleswaram indicate that many kings, including Lord Ganapati, donated lands to nearby villages for the worship of Aleswaraswamy. It is known from the scriptures that Aleswaraswamy was born in the epic age. According to the Srisailam Sthala Purana, the temple got its name from the fact that Kushadwajis son Yala performed penance and obtained Shiva Sakshatra. There are temples of Madhavaswamy, Anjaneyaswamy, Malamma, Madhavaswamy in the premises of Eleshwaraswamy Temple.Korkes are measured as devout believers, Harihara Mallanna, Santanamallanna Sakshimallanna. This field is measured. The elders say that 101 temples, kotokka, shila and veyikavvamu were played in this field. Devotees believe that if you bathe in the river of infertility and put sesame in your mouth and spit it on the rock up the hill, you will have as many children as you can. The shrine is also known as Dakshinakashi, the gateway to Sri Northeast. The Brahmin of yesteryear came here to hide from the war, and then begged God to save his life when the crocodile fell. Then Ishwar appeared and rescued him from the clutches of the crocodile. History has it that with that gratitude, Palanatibrahmanayudu stepped up to the temple in devotion. The temple priest said that the festivals were not held here till 1962. Due to the construction of the Nagarjunasagar project on the Krishna River, the area is submerged in a reservoir and the temples here are in ruins. He has not looked at incense lamp offerings for 47 years and has been celebrating Mahashivaratri for 12 years since 2006.Temple mythologyStanding as a living testimony to the glorious past ... Eleshwarams reputation for standing tall in the middle of a sea-level reservoir is endless. Aleswaraswamy Temple has been a beacon for centuries. It has a history of thousands of years from the third century AD to the 18th century. Aleshwar is also associated with the Satavahanas, Ikshwaks, Vishnukundins, Rashtrakutas, Vemulawada Chalukyas and Palanatikathas. Many great personalities visited and worshiped Katyayani Sahitamallikarjuna at Aleswaram. Many deities established monasteries and temples here. Many kings presented many gifts.Feasts were held at this temple for 11 days a year. There were scholars who studied theology in Aleswaram. Along with the temple, a great academy has sprung up here. Teachings of Vedas, Upanishads, Shaddarshanas, Kavya Natakalankara Grammar, Vedanta, Tatva and Mimamsa were taught here. That pedestal series has flourished for hundreds of years. Those structures were a testament to past history, even if the glare was lost in later times.Eleshwaram continued to be a place of pilgrimage as a Saiva temple. The village along with hundreds of other villages were submerged in the reservoir due to the construction of Nagarjunasagar. Long after the construction of the Sagar began, the small historical ruins of Hyderabad and Nallagonda can be seen as a living testimony in the middle of the Sagar. However, history is not hidden. Because the light of a glorious head is not limited to that area. It may be in folklore, it may be in stone inscriptions. Poets, scholars may be recorded somewhere in the works. The history of Eleshwaram is also recorded in the history of a few kingdoms here and there, and Eleshwaram Mahapadyayi is praised in the Puranama Chandrika. An OK Telugu employee of Colonel Colin McKenzies team who served as Surveyor General for India during the British rule came to know about this.

Eleswara Swamy Temple in the middle of Krishna river. The Mahabharata Shiva Kshetra is the one day Shivaratri dayThey are the most glorious Lord of Kakatiya kingsHistory of the Temple:Through the texts, it is known that Eleswaraswamy was born in the epic age. According to the mythology of Ksaradhvajuni Kumarai, “Sree Sailam is a land where the temple is famous for its emancipation. There are temples of Madhavaswamy, Anjaneyaswamy, Malamma, Madhavaswami and temples in the temple complex of Eleshwaraswamy. The elders are said to have played 101 shrines, fortresses, rocks and lamps in the field. Devotees believe that many children will be born if the child is bathing in the river, sneezing in the mouth and spit up the hill. The field is known as Dakshinakshi, the northeast gate of Sri.The Brahminadu of Palanati has come here to fight the war and then begs Ishwar to save his life when the crocodile is infected. Then Ishwar was specially rescued from the crocodile. History says that the Palanti Brahmanaudu walked up the hill to the temple in devotion. The temple priest said that there were no festivals until 1962. The construction of the Nagarjunasagar Project on the Krishna River has caused the area to sink into the reservoir and the temples are in ruins. Dupa Deepa has not performed for 47 years and Mahashivaratri has been celebrating for 12 years since 2006.Eleswaraswamy Kshetra has been a light for centuries. It has a history of thousands of years from the third century BCE to the 18th century. Lord Shiva is also associated with Satavahanas, Ikhsvakas, Vishnu Kundinas, Rashtrakutas, Vemulavada Chalukyas and Palanatikatha. Some of the great Mahamahs visited, taught and chanted the Katyayani Sahithyamallikarjuna, erected in Eleswaram. Several patriarchs established monasteries and temples. Many of the kings offered many favors. The pilgrimage to the temple of Eleswaram continued to be the site. With the construction of Nagarjunasagar, this village along with hundreds of villages was submerged in the reservoir. Not long after the construction of the Sagar construction, the small ruins of the city, such as Hyderabad and Nallagonda, were erected. The history of Eleswaram has also been recorded in the history of some kingdoms. These facts were learned by an OK Telugu employee of Colonel Colin McKenzies team who served as Surveyor General to India during the British rule. The manuscripts of this history were examined. After the death of McKenzie, in his 1830 work on the writings of South Indian poet scholars, the history of the Eleswaram Vidyapeeta is elaborated. Also, the Vemulavada Chalukkulu fried Vijaya and Dana inscriptions mention the glory of Eleswaram. The village of Eleswaram on the banks of the Krishna River is famous for its scenic beauty. The historic Eleshwaraswamy Kshetra in the middle of the Nagarjunasagar reservoir is the only special launch in Sivarathrinade. The beauty of the landscape is the lion shaped hillock which has been swept away.Specialty of the temple:It is believed by the devotees that Katyaayani Eleswaraswamy Kshetra is very glorious in the midst of Nagarjunasagar reservoir. The festival is celebrated on Mahashivratri day. According to the inscriptions found in Eleswaram, the temple of Gutta Pai Kathayani Devi and the Mallikarjuna temples at the top were revered by the Kakatiyas during the Kakatiyas. Many kings, including Lord Ganapathi, have devoted lands to the nearby villages of Eleshwaraswamy.
